I am so happy that I found your Videos ,you are such a great teacher and artist….no one explains the things as you do….thanks for all the things you teach.
Your western skies and mountains are so inspiring and beautiful- and your advice is wonderful... if my left brain worked like this- I would be amazed , I am encouraged every time I watch your videos- thank you so much for sharing with us out here trying to learn! God bless you and your family!!!
Extremely interesting painting that you like to keep looking at and enjoyed seeing you create trees, rocks, & grass. So glad to have found your channel! Thank you for sharing!
I love how you work away back and forth adding light adding darks and then magically the mountain appears or rocks and fluffy clouds emerge. I’m excited to try even as a beginner. Another wonderful video
I'm a beginner as well and I've watched many tutorials by a number of different artists and Mr. David, you really have a gift for teaching. You really care if we "learn" what we're doing not just put paint on the canvas. I love everything you paint and I've bought some of the Heritage paints and Fusion brushes. Thanks so much for sharing your talent with all of us.
David Jansen is my favorite art teacher here on UA-cam! He has taught me many amazing techniques thru these videos! Thank you for these wonderful videos!
You have such an amazing talent and gift and my absolute favourite is this type of landscape! I’m hooked on your teaching style!!! You have given the world a real gift! 🎨
Rock, I always struggle with rocks. Nice tutorial that I will watch a few times more, and study how YOU paint rocks! Thank you for this lovely tutorial Dave. Best wishes, David in the UK.
How awesome painting! David how can you paint with acrylic so beautiful? Every time when I try to paint with acrylic instead of oil painting, it dry too fast to paint orz...
Hi David , love your work and attitude towards art and really enjoy your colour theory lessons , Please can you tell me how to purchase a global pallet? I think they’re great piece of equipment. I’m based in the UK as you can tell from my spelling of colour ;-)
Thanks so much. I wish we still had the global palette. We made it for over 15 years and then it just became too expensive so it was discontinued 2 years ago. We are still looking at ways to have a version of it made again so don't give up! Thanks so much.
Hi David, you are just amazing teacher! You explain everything in a very simple language. Do you ever arrange any work shops? There is so much to learn from you. I wish I can be your student. Kind Regards
@@JansenArtEducation Thank you so much! I will definitely think about it. I will find all the info about your online classes and let you know. By the way, my daughter is doing her residency at Nebraska Medical center at Omaha. My husband and me just visited her two weeks back. I would love to see your art gallery. Kind Regards
David…just a thought. Have you tried using the Blue Automobile paper towels? The fibers don’t transfer onto the painting surface. Just a thought. Can’t wait to see your video.
Hi Mark! Several of our friends and students use the blues. But David found the blue towels are bit too heavy for him. He likes to feel the brush hairs as he wipes the brushes clean. We use Kirkland paper towels because of their weight and they do not transfer loose fibers. It all comes down to artist preference. But thank you for the suggestion! Much appreciated! 😊
Where can I purchase the round, covered palette you used formerly to mix & store your paints? I can’t find it anywhere online. Thank you! Love your work!
We made those back in 2004. They slowly became too expensive to make so we stopped them in 2017. Maybe someday we could bring them back. They were fantastic.
That mountain sure is warm in tone, then part of that may be due too the colors of your video especially the one that shoots downward overtop of your pallet. BTW, thanks for making your vids look professional! I see a lot of individuals posting videos that don't know how too shoot manually. I have one question concerning the mixture of the open medium and extender. You mixed the two along with paint overtop the river, can one use a gel medium in the same manor?
Hi KDJ. David uses the two mediums to get a "sliding" effect as he paints one atop the other. You will need to test your gel medium to see if you get your desired results. Good luck! MJ 😊
@@JansenArtEducation Thanks MJ, David mentions in several of his videos on here that he obtains reference photographs from Adobe Stock, what image aspect ratio would he recommend uploading there? I have an account and sell my imagery thru them and have recently obtained a new camera that I can shoot in aspect ratios of 16.9, 4.3, 3.2 etc. or does it not matter? Cheers!

David how can you paint with acrylic so beautiful?
Every time when I try to paint with acrylic instead of oil painting, it dry too fast to paint orz...
Thank you so much 😀 All acrylics are different. Try a different one. You can control the drying time so it stays wet if you like.
David, I will try the different acrylic, thank you so much 😊 🙏

@@JansenArtEducation Grazie del consiglio !
Great painting! Could you please tell what you used to sketch the outlines of the mountains. Thank you David.
I used a pencil first then sketched with some Burnt Sienna and Beige to make the tops of the mountains.

I want to ask a quick question
what paints to mix to get medium beige...

Basically a medium value warm brown. You can do it with lots of different colors. Just keep it warm.
