@Jack Johnston: Yes we know this is fiction, but programmes like this wouldn't get past the PC brigade of censors today. In fact it was a bit controversial even at the time, it is based loosely upon the real-life Flying Squad.

A peter is also a safe. And someone who opens safes is a 'peter man.' Mind you the days of the peter men being a sort of criminal aristocracy are long past.

Only he could be envisaged as Reagan (the modern film remake was absolute rubbish, as they often are). Actually it was 78 ' the fourth and final season ' the first episode of ' the series ended around Christmas that year with I believe Jack or Knave.
