    Saw this beautiful commander at Purdue, Josh, can you comment on head and leg room compared with other aircraft you have flown? Thanks.

    • @beechcraftflyer1460

      The other aircraft I've flown are cirrus's and cessnas and I've noticed that the commander has substantially more room. I have a friend who is 6'5" and has to move the seat forward to reach the pedals and still has head room too. In the rear there is even more room for your legs.

      Thank you, for this valuable information! I am 6 foot four and I believe that a cramped cockpit compromises safety.

    Awesome!
    Your 500S is top notch.
    Just two comments, if I may:
    Why did you perform a take off from the brakes?
    Runway was long enough to make a rolling, much better for the aircraft and powerplants.
    During the approach, why not select at first approach flaps, then reduce speed, and then L G down?
    Sounds a little bit weird, to select gear down and then approach flaps.
    Thanks in advance.

    Wait, I heard him say "V1". How on earth does a twin commander have a V1 speed? It could have easily stopped with the runway it had remaining. Or does the brakes easily overheat or something? Very confused..

      More of just having fun, no brake restrictions or anything, she'll stop on a dime

    Hi Josh in your recent video you mentioned you were taking the Commander in for it's annual inspection. How did that go?

    • @beechcraftflyer1460
      @beechcraftflyer1460 8 місяців тому

      It went well, being an A&P I did a lot of the work along with two IAs with experience in commanders. I've done two annuals on it now in my 2.5 years of ownership and it's so over engineered that beside for basic maintenance nothing really bad came up and being so large they are nice to work on in terms of having room

    Did you just call "v1" in a piston multi LMFAO

    • @Gamerboy-gy1rl
      @Gamerboy-gy1rl Рік тому

      So you're telling me a twin piston plane at full speed can stop at any part of the runway? If not which it's pretty obvious It can't I see no issues with that bud.

    • @mikeyimison903
      @mikeyimison903 Рік тому

      @@Gamerboy-gy1rl Your goofy asf. no one calls v1 in a piston not to mention it literally doesn't exist. show me where in the poh it says the v1 speed. If you lost an engine where you said v1 and continued you would VMC roll and kill yourself. Look at the duke VMC at KFUL a couple years back. As dumb as it makes you look its also dangerous AF. Anything below blue line you should cut the other engine back and land straight ahead. You have no idea what your talking about and clearly lack experience.

    • @shaneboulds5240
      @shaneboulds5240 11 місяців тому +1

      @Gamerboy-gy1rl its more of a problem that a piston twin can't continue if they lose an engine on the roll.
      The only thing to do is close the throttles, apply max breaking, and stop

    • @ryancoleman303
      @ryancoleman303 10 місяців тому

      @shaneboulds5240 it's not that it couldn't climb out if lost an engine it's a commitment to fly it out once you cross a certain speed.

    • @shaneboulds5240
      @shaneboulds5240 10 місяців тому

      @ryancoleman303 I'm aware of what v1 is... but piston twins dont have a v1.
      There is a high likelihood that the airplane wouldnt be able to become airborne if you lost it on the runway.
      If you tried to continue, you'd end up in a VMC roll at worst, or at best... mushing into whatever is in front of you.
      Better to overrun with max breaks at the slowest speed you can get than to hit something airborne

    time to toss out the 2 back seat riders lol they look like they arent all there lol i love mine just redid the panel . cost almost as much as the plane cost

  • @timmholzhauer3342
    @timmholzhauer3342 Рік тому +1

    No shoulder harness for pilots? I wouldn’t fly in an aircraft without. Too many dead people due to head smack in panel. Unnecessary risk. Nice plane though! Always happy landings!

    You need to announce your checklist as you are checking the controls in the proper sequence and keep your eyes open for air traffic instead of concerntrating on you co pilot frined. You need additonal dual time for check list announcination skills and air traffic.

      Make sure to keep in mind that this video was edited and a lot of context has been removed that may include checklists and standard procedures. We have adsb in and we’re also on flight following. Thanks for watching!

      Lol… people like you make aviation a hostile environment. You would also be the one to file a formal complaint with the FAA… stfu and enjoy the video. Dont have to be armchair pilot…. Its a video and it has been edited……

    Nice machine, but you need to be a millionaire to be able to put fuel in that guzzler, otherwise a nice comfortable airplane .
