Back in 1958 I met a flight instructor who owned a polished aluminum Luscombe 8A in which I learned to fly. We both loved that little plane. He was old when I was 18 and I always kidded about his knowing Wilbur and Orville .
😅Beautiful vintage aircraft from a romantic era of aviation. Lovely job of restoration by the gent's father. And super styling in the sheetmetal cowling.
Yes! Turning the fuel caps backward WILL drain the fuel. A member of our flying club destroyed our Luscombe that way. After re-fueling and one short flight, the engine quit on takeoff the next flight. On touchdown in a plowed field the plane flipped onto its back and was totaled. They are great airplanes!
Nice! My father has a ‘47 8A. Same paint scheme almost. Has single wing struts (metal wings) and no rear window. 65 hp w/ no electrical system. It has the fuel tank in the fuselage.
Back in the 1970s I had a 1941 8D with a fuel injected C75 . Same dash as in your 8C. However, I'm a bit surprised to see that yours has the rear side windows like an 8E. Mine didn't and it was a later model. So I'm trying to figure that one out. Maybe an option? Gorgeous 8C by the way and I believe the 8C is the rarest of them all. I still miss my old 8D and envy you.
That guy was my tailwheel instructor! This man could fly an ILS while balancing his check book
Did you fly his 8C?
It's a beautiful thing. With some history !

Wow looks amazing, beautiful aircraft
One word: Amazing! Thanks for sharing and the story. My dad once flew a 1946 T-craft and I'd LOVE to find one and restore it.
That is one beautiful airplane. My dad has a 1940 8B Luscombe that I used to fly quite often. So far they’re my favorite vintage tailwheel aircraft.
Very nice Luscombe!😊
That’s a gorgeous plane
Well that panel is KLEAN!!!
Cleanest I’ve ever seen for sure :)

Wow! Love the vintage look
Love those Luscombs. I remember my dad buying a 1946 Luscumb in 1967 for $700, he couldn't come up with an extra $900 for a Piper Cub.
Super nice plane. Great Tour! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for watching!
Excellent! My first 20 hours of logged flight time were in the 8E and the 8A. All of my spin training was in the 8E. Great planes!
Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely beautiful... Thanks for sharing. And gidday from New Zealand.

You’re correct about the rear windows not originally being on the 8C. Those rear side windows were added onto the aircraft.
Top D+
The Metal Monocoupe!
👏👏👏
Looks like it just rolled out of the factory
Really does, incredible restoration job and care from the owner.
Understood every word 😅
@@kennethavesato3883 you’re not familiar with 4130 chromaly?
Sweet little machines a tad underpowered.

He’s talking about the Pitts S1-S in that story
@@HugAviation Thanks for clearing that up !
Nothing mighty about that thing…..
It was in 1940!
