- Hi Nyob zoo Foodies!
Happy New Year 2019! Wishing you all a great year ahead of you. To start out this year, let me share with you all our cendol recipe. After many trial and errors, my mom and I came up with this easy recipe. It has the right consistency and texture we like. The end results are beautiful since the cendol comes out to have very beautiful tails! It works every time we make it. So give it a try and see if it's to your liking!
Cendols are a worm like looking starch strands that is commonly used in Southeast Asian dessert paired with a sweetened coconut milk. In this case, we will be making it for our naab vaam dessert.
WHERE TO BUY CENDOL PRESS
*** You can buy a cendol press online (Amazon and other places). I got mine at my local Thai grocery store. You can also use a potato press or anything with holes (steamer) etc.
NOTE: I won't reply to comments asking where to buy a cendol press. All the info is here.
PANDAN LEAVES
If you don't have any pandan leaves, you can just add a little more of the extract/flavoring to your liking. Pandan leaves can also be found in the freezer section if you can't find fresh ones.

Where you get your presser
I made it yesterday and my cendol turns out to be mushy, i used the rice flour you used in version 2 recipe because i couldnt find the flour provided in this recipe. Also i didnt add any pandan extract. Does the texture comes out wrong because of rice flour?
Thanks
So total water is 4 cups blend and 6cups water totally us 10 cups is it right ? PLEASE thanh you
Van Pham yes that’s correct
alternate of tapioca starch in pakistan?
alternate of pandan leaf in pakistan?
Sister where do buy the press from?.
Off topic but how many calories would this be ? I love the green worms but I’m trying to be low cal
OOooooooOOOOooooooOOO this looks so good lucky i get to make it next week in indonesian class
I tried your recipe and everything came out right but when I grabbed the cendol with my hand, they were smooshing and didn’t keep their form. They tasted kinda bitter too. Did I do something wrong? Should I cooked it a little longer?
Did you eat it right when it came out of the press? Make sure to keep it in ice water so it stays firm. It will taste better after letting it sit in ice water after an hour or two. The cooking process is a little tricky so it could cause a problem with the texture. I'm not sure where the bitterness came from, it could have been too much pandan mixed in with the flour.
CHawjCreations thanks. I’ll try again. Love your show! 🤗
Can you please tell me where did buy the cendol press i can't find it nowhere
amazon has it for $29 just got mine:}
Cendols came out so smooth and easily. Sat in ice water for 2 hours before being served. However, after I drained and mixed it, it all broke apart. Found it to be very mushy. What can I do to keep it from breaking?
Can you be detail how many cup water did you you use?
so is that 10cups of water altogether? the first 4cups with the pandan then add 6cups more?
correct
Where did you buy the bag?

If I make this big batch, how do I keep it fresh for the week?
You can store it in cold water overnight. I wouldn't keep it more than 2 days though. Hope that helps.
👌❤
6 cups= how many liter pandan woter?
Written recipe here: chawjcreations.com/2019/01/02/cendol-for-naab-vaam/
6 cups is about 1.4 liters
For rice flour 1 kg..please
😘😘😘😘😘
Posso colher um mato lá na rua pra fazer?
For the rice flour cake flour is that the same as “rice flour”
No the packet I used in this video contains cornstarch in with some rice flour. I'm not sure what the ratio is in the packet mixed I used but it is not all just rice flour. Hope that makes sense. :)
Do you guys use the frozen pandan leaves?
We do! :)
I know this video is 5 years old, but where did you buy your glass cups from? Thanks!

@@CHerCreations thank you!
I followed every step of this recipe, but my cendols were very soft and broke into small pieces. Any recommendations?
Hi! Thanks for trying it out and letting me know how it went. How long did you cook it for? and did it flow out easily going through the holes?
@@CHerCreations hi, can you please give us a precise recipe for the tjendol in grams and liters please. Cause i've made tjendol a lot but never made your version and it looks easier than mine lol 🤭
@@guntur1982 This is the best I could do to convert the measurements to grams and liters. Hopefully it works.
340 grams steamed pork rice flour cake packet
24 grams tapioca starch
24 grams pandan leafs (4-6 whole leafs)
2.36 liters water
26 grams pandas extract or flavoring
2.5 grams salt
Instead of pork rice flour cake mix.
Can I use plain rice flour..
What's another brand of the rice flour that I can use for this recipe?
I like using the Sing Kung Corp brand since the cendol comes out to the texture I like. Their ratio of rice flour to cornstarch is different from other brands.
When you say add the rest of the water do you mean 2 more cups (to be 6 cups total) or 6 more cups?
Anderson Bui add 6 more cups.
weight/ quantity of rice flour bag?
Ravishing Haaiqa the bag is 340 gram water used is 10 cups
@@nkuajsuab thanks

😂🤣😀someone share this same recipe with and they use 9 cups of water have not tried 10 cups. Will try yours. I love how shinny the worms are.
Can I just use the regular red bag rice bag instead of that specific one?
No. It will create a different consistency.
@@CHerCreations Can I cook this the night before?
Is it okay to just use the normal rice flour?
No, it won't come out as nice. I recommend using this packet if you can find it.
Dian Siata i use the rice flour and tapica starch in stead but it fail

ahmad rojiki if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say it at all.
