Thors will usually lose to an equal number of regular battlecruisers. Jackson's revenge shoot slower, but have higher damage, dps, and health than the LoTV BCs.
I was thinking "Thors have good anti-air, but I'm pretty sure Jackson's Revenge are just too good, and they have numbers." I did not expect the clump-n-melt xD
@@TheRealArmor They're just too squishy. Glass cannon works on Marines because they're much smaller and can form denser death balls. Still, the Goliaths did WAY better than I expected and wiped the floor with those Zealots!
The way I see it, optimal formation is enough ranks that the last row can still range on the enemy when they reach their own range. So basically, that last row of tanks is still able to fire on the marines who get close enough to open fire themselves. That way you have stacking rows of devastation firing in rapid succession and pounding that front row constantly. It offsets the time between rounds for each tank unit because the next row back is firing a quarter second later, then the third row, then the 4th, then the first row is firing again.
The problem is when the opponents do finally crash and start spreading. Tanks deal consistent dps against groups until they spread, then it kinda falls apart.
i love goliaths. they're in that "mechanized infantry" niche where they are slightly worse than marines as infantry, tanks/hellbats as mech, vikings as anti-air, and Thors as combat walkers, and yet they keep performing so well in resource cost. I seriously think if they had some extra health or armor, or if they had some kind of "hardened shell" ability, they'd be Kings on the battlefield.
Love getting to see the goliaths vs both ground and air. For some of the super strong units, like Odins and Kerrigan, I think it'd be more interesting if they couldn't use their abilities. Like how many fewer marauders would it take if the Odins didn't barrage and just used their auto attack splash?
3/5 My predictions: - Odins (figured the lower numbers were there for a reason) - Jackson's (Had a feeling the Thor antiair wouldn't cut it) - Breakers (Feel like I baited myself with this again) - Stalkers (because blink micro) - Protoss (Goliaths have disappointed me too much)
Did the Thor's anti-air weapons change? I recall they used to fire AoE missiles that were effective against light units. Looks like they're using heavy AA cannons now.
Not only that the cannons do far more damage and are effective against massive. They also have the same range as the tempest. Effectively the Thor becomes very volatile mix of anti armor punch with air space denial, either for capital, or lower class starships. The reason why the Thor lost in my opinion is just sheer volume of fire, the biggest weakness of the Thor is that if there are units that can take the hits and alot of them, a army of Thor are toast. Doesn't help the fact that they were mercenary bcs, even if that wasn't the case it would still go awry for the Thor.
@@Skullhawk13 even if Thor did focus fire, they still would lose, I know this because it happened to me. BCs are indeed countered by Thors, but not completely. Thor 1 vs 1 would probably win, but further down the line it won't end so well. Lastly, last I checked spreading your shots out at the first half isn't focus firing.
I think a neat comparison one would be "the power of upgrades" where it's the same match 3 times, but each time with a different upgrade setup (one side favoured, even, then other side favoured)
4/5 - expected more from Odins - Don't blame me, I'm Tychus's fan. Goliaths failed to stop mixed as well- maybe they will win a brawl once they face some workers...
Since the Odin has an energy bar, I assume this is the campaign Odin? Kinda wish so see the Co-op Odin with 1 ability use and 5 upgrade levels and I think a faster attack speed overall. And after using campaign units, why not use Spartan Company in the end?
4/5 I figured the marines would do alot of damage, but I still thought the Odins would do better. Thors took out more Jacksons than I thought. Jacksons still won, so I'm good. Goliaths simultaneously fighting air and ground in general looks more impressive. Still lost, though.
While probes could theoretically kill Odin (since it doesn't have regen), I think you'd need something like 50000 of them. It'd take them so long that barrage would come off cooldown mid-fight.
3/5 Odin actually lost for once. Guess it couldn't handle that many Marauders. And once again, my habit of not voting for Goliaths on anything is paying off.
Goliaths may have lost, but that was actually super impressive.
They were almost twice as cheaper.
@@SmokeBloody More than twice as cheap.
@@SmokeBloody They are just campaign units or story units. Cost doesn't really matter tho. They attack ground and air all at once is too op
They've won our hearts. Just bring them back as alternative to Siege Tanks in multiplayer.
@@北斗-l1q Yes but the point is if they *were* normal units they would be a super effective trade.
the synchronized focus fire from the jacksons as they all clumped up was insane, thought thors had it for sure
Thors will usually lose to an equal number of regular battlecruisers. Jackson's revenge shoot slower, but have higher damage, dps, and health than the LoTV BCs.
They have double yamato about .06 less atackspeed, like 5 or 6 more damage and 700 hp, they had it i never had faith in the thors xd

Tya is just playing with my emotions surrounding goliaths at this point. I’ll never give up
Goliaths 4 ever. They do seem to lose most engagements but always hilariously outperform based on cost.
@@TheRealArmor They're just too squishy. Glass cannon works on Marines because they're much smaller and can form denser death balls. Still, the Goliaths did WAY better than I expected and wiped the floor with those Zealots!
you should do shapes of siege tanks, like a line, triangle, circle, polka dots, etc to see which is most efficient
The way I see it, optimal formation is enough ranks that the last row can still range on the enemy when they reach their own range. The most efficient for Siege Tanks is when there is a front line.
The problem is when the opponents do finally crash and start spreading. Tanks deal consistent dps against groups until they spread, then it kinda falls apart.
Wow the Marauders and Marines actually pulled through! That is impressive. Sometimes, quantity over quality works 😉
What did it cost? Everything
Loved that Guild Wars reenactment in the 3rd battle, thank you Tya, very cool!
Those Goliaths did very well considering they had half the cost of the Protoss army

I'm very impressed by the Jacksons Revenge Targetfiring.
Layering baby! If they all occupy the same space, then they all share the same closest enemy. I feel bad for those last few Thors...
5/5! I'm genuinely surprised I got 'em all, both the stalkers and the void rays had me biting my nails for a bit there
Don't want to hear no Goliath slander this time, the trade efficiency was very good.
they get to much hate

Left with only 6.

It’s the balance update 8 from hots that got removed but returned in version 3.3, and u can toggle between air splash or single target

Could we perhaps get an efficiency rating? Like how many minerals or vespene did each side lose in the engagement.
Last 2 battles were actually decent showings by the Terran units. Even if they lost, it was close and they had more resource-efficient armies.
nice to finally be seeing more odin
I just realized that Thor sound exactly like Arnie😂

Goliaths have won some mixed battles before, I think
Check the costs of the armies. Goliaths almost won with half the resources. It's just that Tya hates my boys.
Check resources buddy
0-5... like the ending said, cant fix stupid -.-

Co-op odin has a nuke.
Considering the resources...There should have been much more Goliath's. Or atleast some other untis in front of them as a meat shield.
Odins lost, that have to be the first time
Happened way more often than you think. It even happened against Roaches.

Its a win for the Odins IMO. It only takes 6 Odins to kill literally 950 out of 1000 marauders. 95% were taken down before the 6 fell.
Woot, finally got 5 out of 5!
My first 5/5 in a long time, betting against the guys that usually win!

To be fair, they were at roughly half the resource cost - if there were more of them, or if that was spartan company, then rip those void rays
More moving photon canons

protoss win? dude they win by double the cost and supply and left with nearly no unit left. Pyrrhic victories!!!
