MCARBO Chris, I am a big fan of Fobus paddle holsters outside the waistband. I am having difficulty trying to locate one. Might you be able to get your hands on one or point me in the right direction? What is your recommendation for a good 0WB for the CPX2? I’m looking for something with a slim profile that won’t print. Something plain and simple no bells and whistle ‘s.

I haven't read all the comments so maybe it's here already. But for the firing pin spring I wasn't able to pin together by hand like in the video. But, I used a 2" C type clamp to hold things in place and it worked perfectly. Just some advice...

I installed this upgrade yesterday and at first had problems. After I had taken the internals apart again I realized that I did not have the pin on the trigger pivot fully installed. I could feel the pin sticking out a tiny bit using my fingernail. That little bit of pin sticking out did not allow the trigger to be fully seated which made the trigger pivot not fully seat which made the trigger pivot rub against the inside of the body of the firearm. Anyway after fully seating the pin and putting everything back together everything worked properly. The trigger pull is definitely much lighter. Thanks Mcarbo

I recently retired from the injection molding company that made all the plastic components, including the CPX-2 frame, for SCCY. I love the design, love the size, but didn't like the heavy trigger pull. Because it's a double action pistol, I use my CPX-2 for in home laser practice but because of the heavy trigger pull, practice time was limited due to hand fatigue. I just finished installing the M*Carbo replacement springs and am blown away by the difference. I am not a gunsmith but with the simple tools and your clear and concise video, I was able to change out the factory springs in roughly 45 minutes. Thank you for your military service, and high-quality work product you put out.

I’ve got to say that you are likely the best presenter I’ve ever seen. There’s not one single place where I had one of those “ damn I wish you’d show which way that goes, better focus ect” moment. This little gun can be a bit gnarly hooking those pins to parts and this presentation makes it as idiot proof as it can possibly be. Out of 5 stars I’ll give it a 👍🏻10👍🏻

This is a great instructional video. One tip for anyone buying this kit. If you don't have 30 something thumbs (like me) make sure the trigger pivot is FULLY seated. At the 20:36 mark he gave the trigger pivot a push and seated it with his thumb :) I had to use a short nylon rod as a punch and a couple light taps with a little ball peen hammer. Trigger is now ~3.5 lighter and MUCH smoother. Thanks MCARBO !!

Thank You MCABO! I purchased my CPX2 over 6 years ago and it has served me very well. It was my first 9mm and I have loved owning this pistol. I moved on to make other purchases like Glocks, Sigs, and Smith & Wesson's to name a few. One of my reasons for doing so was the heavy trigger pull of the Sccy. After purchasing, installing, and shooting my cpx2 I am happy to report that this little pistol is back in the rotation of my cc choices. Excellent product and instructional video. Most importantly, it worked to reduce the heavy trigger pull in half. If you are a SCCY owner, please do yourself the favor of upgraded your pistol. The difference truly is incredible.

I have installed two kits on my new SCCY CPX-2's (very close serial #'s) with my usual polishing/lubrication of sliding and rotating components...moly grease for the former and synthetic oil for the latter. Per my Lyman trigger pull gauge the first started at 7.5# and the second at 7.0# (note that the speed of pulling back on the Lyman results in markedly different values especially in a long pull DA trigger so I completed many series trying to remain consistent). After installing the kits the first came back at 5# and the second at 4.5# again completing many series of pulls.
As someone said the frame pins are difficult to drive out...an understatement. I used some "Ed's Red" and took my time protecting the polymer frame with tape as needed and a heavy hammer. As an aside going thru installing the kit allows you to understand what makes this pistol work as well as polishing parts etc.
Subjectively both have markedly improved trigger pulls, smooth as silk, but heavy enough to be safe for carry without an integral trigger safety. For me well worth the effort, education and cost of the kit.

Just installed my kit last night. FYI to anyone with a newer CPX-2, SCCY has fixed the issue of the frame pins possibly backing out while shooting by making the pins fit MUCH tighter and using some kind of retaining compound. They were a bear to remove. Expect grip frame damage if you don't use the right tools/techniques. They don't intend for those pins to come out.
Also, if you have the Red Dot version, it will need to be removed to install the firing pin spring.
I agree with everyone else. Great instructional video.

Just installed my trigger spring kit for the CPX2 Gen3. There are a few things just a little bit different. SCCY changed the way that spring for the trigger holds in place, the previous generations had that "slot" the spring had to wrap around, gen 3 doesn't. Also the pin holding the trigger in place appears to be tapered, it was difficult to replace. All in all, I love the difference in trigger pull. If I can do this, you can.

I'm stuck on that trigger pin on my gen 3...you said it was difficult to replace but not impossible. I just got done with my SCCY CPX-1 and it took some time to get it right as I had to deal with the safety. I personally like safety's because it is more likely that an unintended discharge could happen than me needing to be quick draw McGraw. I do practice at the range in drawing and pushing down on the safety as my pistol comes up so as to have it become a muscle memory type reaction. If you 'all don't like a safety that's cool my preference is to have one if possible. One things for sure this is a finicky pistol in that if you don't put something back exactly as he telling us on the video you may have some fun troubleshooting the problem. After slowing down and watching the video a few times I got going. Thanks I appreciate the info. Yeah , and the trigger is now breaking below 5 lbs. consistently. Mid to upper 4's

The only (minor) downside to this pistol is the long trigger reset and (less minor) the mag release function. Maybe it's just my pistol but it is hard to get the thumb onto the release button, fairly hard to press it, and the mag doesn't like to just smoothly fall out like the mags from my SA XD-9 and other higher-priced pistols. Beyond that, great little gun and with the trigger job done, nicer still.

Just ordered my kit. I love my CPX2, but I wasn’t aware I needed to pull it back to my chest every time I pulled the trigger. Lol, just kidding. Thanks for a great video.

This is my second one installing, my first SCCY has a nice pull to it, and now my other is just like the first, easy install and fun to put together, as always "Thanks" M*CARBO. Awesome products.

I installed the CPX-4 spring kit today. Took just 4 days to arrive at my house. I found a video on YT that explains how to remove the safety. Would be cool if MCARBO could put one out too in order to support their product, just sayin'. The toughest challenge was to remove the trigger pin. I broke the pin that goes through the trigger holding the trigger spring in the process. Had to manufactur a new one from wire i had. When reassembling the parts you need to pay very, very close attention to the fact that you need to keep the parts in the exact location you put them while adding the next part or you will not get the gun back together working. Reinserting the trigger pin with the spring was the toughest job, again. Hammered the crap out of that thing but it finally seated properly. The rest was working as shown in the videos i used as instructions. It took me 1 hour to put the frame with firing unit back together. That really sucked and i thought i broke the gun but once i managed to keep all parts in place, everything worked as it should.
The trigger improved significantly. Haven't been to the range, yet but will on Sunday. If something out of the ordinary happens which would be anything but the gun shooting all types of ammo i give it to eat, I'll report it here. If you plan on doing the trigger spring job yourself, make sure you have the tools and a ton of patience or you will not complete it.

Great kit and video!! Also worth mentioning that sccy sells grip modules of all color seperately and if you wanted a change in color it would be the perfect time to install it along with this kit.

A trick to get the hammer spring reseated. Use a long nose jeweler's needle nose pliers which have no serrations on the jaws. Spread the jaws a little apart & use it to lift up on the seating block. Because you're using it as a "fork", it keeps the seating block square with it's intended location when you lift up on the spring. A flat blade screwdriver causes it to rotate.

Bought the MCARBO spring kit based on the good reviews and video instructions, and a nice punch kit. The pins that hold the plastic grip to the aluminum on my firearm do not “JUST TAP OUT.” I put this lower in a vice and used a large hammer and steel punch. Bent the punch, pin didn’t move. I’m hoping I can purchase a replacement plastic grip from SCCY and I’ll take it to a gunsmith and let him have a try. Upsetting...

@@TS-yk8kb I ended up buying a new frame, reverting back to stock and trading it in on a Taurus G2C. The trigger was lighter, but I had several misfires at the range. Was worth it to me to chalk it up as a loss and get a better “budget gun”. Good luck with yours.

@@robdnice finally got my pins out. I already have a pt111g2, great guns and plan on getting a g3c when prices and stock settle.
I got a cpx1rd for the wife and for a fun intro to red dots on pistols. Hope I don't have the misfires.

Great video! Thank you for breaking it down and explaining all there is. Most Videos are short, choppy, visually blurry or shaking. This is top notch quality! Thank you for the help as well as the insanely fast processing and shipping of the components. I will be looking into what other parts are made by MCarbo for all of my weapon systems.

Had mine installed and expected way more. Gunsmith said well its still a double action so dont expect too much. Took it to the range and was able to roll out consecutive headshots. THe gun resets just in time for follow up shots. I typically shoot a Glock with a timmney trigger so theres no comparison, BUT the keyword is budget and that it gets the job done.

well... It is almost always the trigger pull that causes me to pull slightly of target when I fire. High trigger weight and I wind up pulling a bit right and maybe low. So i ALWAYS do what I can to fix the trigger.. With the springs AND a bit of micro polishing using my dremel and some custom made sanding discs from 600 grit up to 3000 on the trigger transfer bar and trigger pivot I am down to 4.2 pull weight. On the sccy cpx 2 with optic.... Holy Hockey puck Batman... even the heavies at my local club are impressed. I have built so many firearms from cz52's, star PD's and of course 1911's... I frigging love this sccy!

Very easy to follow, and I know next to nothing about repairing firearms. One thing though... 1) My trigger bar did not have a slot, it had a circle indent that trigger spring fit into. Easy adjustment on the fly, but something to note.

Sweet little trigger job. The video was great! I do wish you would have added the differences with the CPX 1 model safety. I took pictures as I disassembled & did fine except when you tighten the safety don't make it too tight it will restrict the trigger return. Keep up the great work and Thanks for your service.
