When I first heard this song that appears to have been released 12 years after Stuarts death I was surprised to find myself moved to tears. As I listen more I feel that it is the very emotionally sad feeling that runs through this version.Very beautiful with a real feeling of profound loss. And I realize that I am once again feeling a sense of sadness for the loss of this man who was not only a brilliant singer/songwriter/ musician, but also truly good and decent man who deserved a better fate.
His voice is so great here, and raw. I miss him so much. I wonder who or what he was missing when he wrote this song. I listen to The Raphaels album a lot, and My Only Crime is the most haunting song as well. Almost blatantly portends what was coming. It's beautiful, though, of course. He inspires me so much. 💔
Stuart it is Dec 16/21 20 years to the day that you left this life.We your fans all wish that you had been able to find a way to stay. I feel bad for your family and friends. You were so loved by so many people that you knew, and ones like myself that you never knew.I am so sorry for what happened to you.You deserved better just because you were a truly decent and good man.I hope you are at peace.
Actually the original song was published back around 1999 on the "Driving to Damascus" CD. A haunting song even back then, especially after the tragedy of Stuart Adamson's suicide. This is absolutely my favorite Big Country song, and I am almost driven to tears when I hear. I've driven by the Drake Motel in Nashville and the diner just to get a feel from the video.
"Love is a small and fragile thing, I spend a lot of cold nights missing you." Don't we all have that person we miss? Poetry.
This performance screamed HELP!
Rock & Roll will never die....
Rest peacefully Stuart 💓💯
This version is just gut wrenching. Stuart will be forever missed. One of the greats if not the greatest.

Does anyone know when, where this was recorded? Quality
+Fanzon Newsteam Yeah, sounds like a demo....just him and a guitar.....just damn awesome.
It was performed live on BBC Scotland Radio 2 on 22 February 2000, by Stuart Adamson and Bruce Watson.
