I have a Carian Knight as well. It's hard not to use all of his spells since he has an answer to every situation. I use the ash of war glintblade on a magic infused misericorde since it deals 40 poise damage per cast and has much higher overall damage. I also use a lordsworns sword instead of the carian knights sword for the AoW. I don't like magic downpour because the damage was trash but I think i'll try it again since i'm higher level. Lastly Adulas moonblade gets extra damage off the carian glintstone staff in case you didn't know. I do hate that it cost 22 fp though ugh. This video is great.
I play the Carian Menace as well. Also known as the legendary Parryin Knight. Moongrum, Stance Buster, Ankle Buster, Restraining Order, Ranni’s Knight, Vorpal Terror, Michael Smackson, Moonchild, DarkMoon Slayer, Ranni’s Slave, Ranni’s Husbando, MoonGroom, and other names I’ve delightfully come up with for no other reason than that this build bullies everyone and everything in the game with ease in the hands of a competent pilot, cripples and destroys bosses.
It's because there was a bug where if you counterattacked to finish phase 1, she would start phase 2 with only a few HP, so now you can't finish phase 1 with a counterattack anymore. It's quite annoying when you lose because of that. 😅
@@WRETCH_Gaming How long did it take to learn to dodge Malenia's Waterfowl Dance point-blank? I swap to a shield with the Barricade Shield skill, but I wish I didn't have to rely on it. Sadly, every time I tried the loop-around-her tactic, I got hit.
@@WRETCH_Gaming I am doing a fresh play through with this build and it's SO tempting to just carian slice everything because it's so good, but if you're just going to do that, might as well use a normal sword! I love the gameplay and this is the type of gameplay I'm trying to hold myself to this run. Mad props!
This looks like such a fun build. I always wanted to do an intelligence playthrough but the pure mage/sorcerer build isn’t really my playstyle. This looks perfect for me
