So I randomly came upon this video at the best time. I signed up as a promoter last month. About a week ago I asked the person who signed me up Sponsor how much they make. They didn't respond. So I followed up with them a few days later and that person got really nasty with me. I said this must be a pyramid scheme. That person said no that would be illegal. Anyway, to make a long story short the person blocked me from her social media and team page. Wow! So thankful for this video because it confirms that Thrive is ridiculous and it just wasn't me. Thanks so much!

When I was with Herbalife I remember getting into a “disagreement” with a man high up in my upline. He said i needed to drink more shakes and eat less food. I said “you can’t live off the shakes alone.” He said, “why not... if I was stranded on an island & only had my shakes I promise I’d survive & so will you.“ I heard the same statement at almost every convention from many people. These wellness companies are seriously dangerous to people with EDs & everyone.

There was a horror story on another channel about a girl who's aunt got her started on the shakes in high-school. She almost died ended up in rehab with anorexia and had to be trained to learn to eat solid food again. Terrifying. And her own aunt never stopped encouraging her to drink the shakes even as she was in the hospital

I took Herbalife at 31 and it dried up my salivary glands. Thank God it was temporary, "only" lasting a few miserable months. I took the bottle to my doctor saying "but it's all natural". His response? "So is arsenic".

I’m so embarrassed to admit that I was a promoter for this company. I was a brand new mom and wanted to lose weight. Another promoter reached out consistently and I fell for it. I also had no idea what an MLM was. They would text me every single day, multiple times a day. They would get upset if I didn’t sell. I decided this was too much so I left without notice. It’s a TOXIC business!

Don't be embarrassed. I join Mary Kay years ago, and I was only in it for a few months. But *from the beginning* they push me to recruit and host a bunch of parties each week. The brainwashed started immediately, and I thought I was just failing at trying to do a good thing. It's insidious, and the people who join are often victims, too.

So sorry you went through all that. Similarly, I was on the customer end and the salespeople kept pestering me about buying and using it always wanting progress from me when I really just wanted to be left alone to live my life like a normal person. It’s ridiculous.
It’s insane just how pushy these mlm folks can be, both on other salespeople and on their customers.

My ex coworker used to be in Thrive and got weight loss surgery and then claimed that Thrive made her lose all the weight. She lost 100lbs. I wanted to call her out on her posts, but I didn’t want to cause issues. It’s sickening that people will blatantly lie like that. I always knew these weight loss products are bs but to know for sure how these companies operate and the Huns, it’s quite eye opening.

Thank you for sharing this video! I was a customer, then a promoter, then I quit. Everything was great until I tried a new product, and all the positive changes in my life immediately turned upside down. I had severe mental health issues directly linked to this particular product, and NO ONE was talking about it. I couldn't get answers from my upline or the company. I had a few friends who had similar issues from this product but we didn't talk much about it due to the severe depression we were all suddenly facing. I fought to get answers until I was too mentally exhausted to care anymore. My Thrive "friends" were dropping off rapidly, as I was no longer actively promoting or participating. I lost most of my pre-Thrive friends because they were simply tired of that being all I talked about, followed by the depression during which I wasn't active in any of my relationships. The toxic positivity is real! It's been a few years now, and I'm clawing my way back to me.

She kept gifting me the shakes and patches. The shakes weren’t bad, but neither one of these products gave me energy or helped me drop weight. Being a true crime junkie, I watch a lot videos with that content. In one of the videos, Shanann was selling some type of drink. The video host was talking about how fast and how far she advanced in her company, and how they sent her on all expenses paid trips, yada, yada, yada.

I hadn’t heard of this MLM until now, so I’m glad to be informed in case I ever hear a friend or family member buying into their BS! “Vector” is one that preys hard on high school and college students here in Ohio. She gave them my contact information as a personal reference, and every once in awhile they still bother me to this day, trying to get me to join via letter mail and phone calls!...mind you it’s been over 10 years since they got my contact info from her. I have heard of nutritional supplements with arsenic and lead in mlm products. Sorry edit ( it’s subdermal not intradermal ! )

I had someone push this on me (a friend of a friend) to purchase (she was a high up there rep and always pushed this on everyone). I own a meal prep business so I don't believe in these quick fix solutions to "losing weight". She had purchased some products from me and with her I just got the vibe of... I purchased from you, you now should purchase from me. So I ended up caving, mainly bc I wasn't as confident as I am now to say hell no and she was also saying she just needed me to purchase it to hit her quota. I just purchased the shakes and thankfully quickly cancelled to not get the auto renewal. But then she had the nerve to tell my friend that my products were over priced, I just couldn't help but laugh. Keep sipping the MLM Kool aid lady!

I used a motion sickness patch last year and experienced EXTREAM withdrawals after taking off the patch. When you wear patches that pump drugs (or supplements or whatever) constantly into your body, you're body craves that thing and you need to be weened off. I learned that the hard way. Thrive's patches seem scammy at best and super dangerous at worst.

Just a statistics update: the mean is calculated by adding summing up a the numbers and diving by the number of data points summed. The median is described correctly but the conclusion is incorrect. It is the number right in the middle but it doesn’t tell you much without the another average calculation. The mode is what I prefer - that is the MOST common result (which is how you described the median). For example in this number set 1200, 100, 100, 50, 50, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5 the mean is 168.89. The median is 50 and the mode is 5. While you might be able to say most people made zero if the median is zero (true!!) it’s not always accurate.

I very distinctly remember my family buying and using thrive when I was in middle school and high school. My mother, grandma, and older sister were more into it than I was. No one ever sold products just used them. My mom would drink one of those shakes every morning. She tried to get me to drink them but I thought that they were disgusting and refused. She did however make me take the vitamins and wear the patch for a short period of time. I stopped taking the vitamins because I never really cared about taking them, and I stopped wearing the patch because it hurt to take off and people at school kept asking me if it was a nicotine patch and I didn’t want to get in trouble with my teachers. I didn’t know that thrive was about weight loss until now. But I don’t think my mother did either. Growing up her and my sister were and still are plus size and I was always average weight. Weight loss was never pushed on me or my sister. My mom always says that as long as your healthy your size doesn’t really matter. So when she had us all take thrive I don’t think it was to loose weight. From what I remember my mom was told that everything we were taking had “ vitamins and nutrients” in it. In high school I was in a weight lifting class and my sister played sports. Before thrive my mom had me take those “ hair, skin, and nails for growing teens” vitamins you cans find at Walmart. I really just think that my mom wanted to make sure that were both getting the vitamins that we needed, especially because we were active.

So I have nothing about the company, my SIL sells it, but I am unable to take most if not all of the products due to medical issues. But what I wanted to come on and say is that vitamin patches actually do work, for the most part and work well. They are absorbed by the skin and put directly into the blood stream, which is great when you need an energy boost, so you put on a B12 patch. But you have to be careful, because they are vitamins they aren't regulated and can cause issues. Before you take anything I always suggest that you read up on ingredients and see what interactions can happen with any meds you are on; or what side effects can occur. And that's just in general. Hope this helped in any way and stay safe with anything you are putting on or in your body. Oh, and thank you Hannah for making these videos. Maybe I'll get up my nerve to email you what I went through with an MLM.

I got pulled into level thrive. Ughhh I needed to hear this like 2 years ago. I wasted so much time and money trying to make it as a stay at home mom. I tried just to keep failing and my upside was always doing wonderful things. I couldn't keep up. But I know realize that was the whole point. I feel so foolish.

Although this video understandably did not discuss the Watts case, Le Vel received a lot of negative press through that case, particularly their income structure. It was through that case I heard of Le Vel. A few months ago a random DM came my way and guess what, it was a pitch for Le Vel.
Love your channel and the ability to learn about all and I mean alllllll the MLM companies out there. A friend of mine warned me to be careful when posting any kind of advice seeking post on a social media platform, particularly mom groups. These type of posts are what mlm folks seek and use to their advantage to make a pitch.

The shakes were expensive but I had been looking for a shake I could have in the mornings that wasnt gritty like I find most protein shakes are. I tried the stickers too. They always irritated the heck out of my skin, so those didnt last long with me. But I didnt find the shakes worth the money, and I'm glad I never started selling!

when I worked for publix the bakery manager was selling color street nails. for starters we aren't allowed to wear fake nails and also paint our nails. due to us working with food. I worked in the deli. she prayed on the people in her department to buy the nails. she even tried to send me some samples over Facebook messenger. I said no and she left it at that. at the time I was working hard to lose weight so I felt better about myself. my upcoming wedding was just a bonus for me. anyway she was also trying to lose weight. she tried some diet I cant remember and I guess wasnt doing well. while I was doing the good ole just count the calories you take in via a calorie counting app to help me keep under my daily calories. Anyway one day I noticed a very familiar patch on her arm. it was a Lev-vel patch. when I first heard of this company it was being marketed to the grocery guys as like extra energy or something. it definitely wasnt weight loss back in like 2015. because my husband wasnt trying to lose weight because he didnt need to. he knew it was a pyramid scheme, at the time we hadn't heard of MLM. he only took the samples to support the guy who decided to work under the person he got them from. I'm unsure if this is correct or not I could be remembering, but i wanna say they are advertising it to also help women get pregnant. I'm unsure if that is true, but the bakery manager had been struggling to get pregnant. its sick how these companies pray on vulnerable people. I dont think she did either MLM for the money cuz department managers make good money. I also felt its inappropriate for managers to try and sell things to their employees and possibly convince them into their down line. Because they know how much the employees make because they know their wage and they make their schedules. the store manager didnt seem to care that people were using work to sell other products.

Now it makes so much sense why the watts children Bella& Cece were constantly snacking. There was no real meal like ever and they were constantly eating marshmallows or some kind of ready out of a bag/box snack. Especially Bella looked malnourished, pale and had no hair growth. I think that’s why they were napping and sleeping for a total of 16 hours a day, because they had no energy due to the lack of real meals.

Probably because MLM's are such mixed bags. Lots of them have effective unqiue health products, and lots of people use it to earn a little supplemental $. It seems only to be those who get very heavily sucked in like Shannan who get in over their heads, majorly scammed, and pulled into the cult-like nature of it all

So Im anti MLM but using a patch for medication distribution has been used since the 1970’s. Saying it’s JUST a sticker is very misleading and can be damaging as well. I get it, the patches probably don’t work but don’t downplay the fact that patches can and have been used successfully.
