Here is a new video featuring the wonderful piece Manhã de Carnaval, or translated Carnival Morning. This song is a famous Brazilian Bossa Nova by Luiz Bonfá and the main theme of the film Black Orpheus. The arrangement is a mixture between Baden Powell’s and my own, and this recording is made possible by a lovely Patreon supporter who requested it. I have recorded this time using my Yamaha Silent Guitar. I really love the amazing sustain and super clear harmonics, along with the powerful fullness it holds. I think it matches the passion of the piece really well.

There are other excellent playings of this, but Ms. Jones' use of the electric guitar -- the way she uses its tonalities to find new dimensions in the piece -- puts this version in a class by itself. An amazing musical accomplishment IMO.

She again astounds me. There are times in this piece that I can imagine that she has an entire rhythm section backing her, the sound is so rich.

This is the best tone I've heard on an electric classical guitar. Normally such guitars have an annoyingly metallic sound, but this one is definitely an exception.
