You're absolutely right that they often get overlooked, yet they play a crucial role in the reliability of our firearms. Proper maintenance of magazines can go a long way in preventing malfunctions and ensuring smooth feeding.

Hold your hand over the base plate when removing unless you want mag guts scattered across the room. 💥😂

Thank you👍. My magazines are very dirty. I tried the Dry Lube last night, but it made the pictures fade, especially the centerfold, and Miss June was smokin’ hot !! 😉

Was having issues with a few TX22- 16 rounders. I found out about dry lube from a gunsmith.
If you can't find the Otis dry lube,
DuPont makes a dry film lubricant.
Absolutely worked for me, a much more enjoyable time at the range.
    Thanks Sootch!

For double stack pistol magazines I use a 12 gauge cotton bore mop with some alcohol and it fits perfectly in the magazine.

I get some CLP on a cleaning patch and use it on the springs after using a dry brush. Just leave a faint coat of lubricant. The Dry Lube spray looks easier.

I put a +0 pinky extension on 1 of my p365XL mags to see how I liked that particular brand.before getting more (a little pricey, hard anodized aluminum. Good stuff but going with the same brand but a new one they made that’s a little shorter. )or different brand ect. Have a cpl more im going to try too .Pearce have always been good for most of my guns…hard to beat)Was the 1st time I’d opened the mag.Was glad I did…had substantial amount of scale looking rust near the bottom of both. Cleaned up pretty good though. I thought penetrating oil too.all I had handy was some PB blaster rusted bolt stuff. Put a good amount on where the rust had been on both & as light coverage as possible up in there. Sit a few minutes and wiped off ,switched to clean cloth twice, they were clean & dry. Have checked since, still looks good. Love Otis. Will be getting some of that stuff.good video. The 20 rd back pocket AR mags are nice. The older US issue is my personal fave .good stuff. I ll think about it but every 3 uses. Your 3 uses & my 3 uses are different. But I’ll keep everything clean. I used to run on the dry side, then went through a sloppy wet stage .Early days & know my guns better now. A little dab on right spots will do .just started thinking about going ultrasonic every now and then. A long one. But have some figuring to do. Will be good for cleaning other stuff if I wind up using it with guns or not. Need. ?.?.No. But worth experimenting. Thx again.

Well if you're having a failure to feed issue not only check your mag but check your slide, because if it's having feeding issues there could also be dirt or debris inside the gun causing mishaps.
And if you're trying to "clean your clip" just unscrew the bottom of the magazine and wipe down your spring and make sure there's no debris inside the magazine. If this doesn't fix your problem then you probably need a new spring/mag. (Hope this helps)

Debris in your magazine will most likely be dirt, carbon dust, pocket lint, etc. We're not talking baked on Mac & Cheese in there so a dry brush and rag should do.

You're using about 70% more dry lube than what's necessary. The springs just need a single pass on each side.... NEVER soak them!
Also, a dry brush will never remove carbon that's formed on the plastic follower. You need a dedicated solvent, NOT a CLP. Strictly solvent only!
One last thing.... It's completely unnecessary to use ANY kind of lubricant or clp on the outside of metal magazines.... They're aluminum and won't rust.
