Putting all politics aside, I am extremely happy that you share your insider husbandry tarantula secrets for us peons. I appreciate your willingness to both share your unique insights and your willingness to show us your modern methods to breed these magnificent creatures. Keep up the good work, but take a break whenever you feel the need! Love ya, Dave.
Love seeing Theraphosa species! I recently finally got one myself, it's a T. stirmi sling that moulted already and needs a rehouse lol. With the blondi and the apophysis that my boyfriend has, we now have all the Theraphosa species, yay 😄❤
Don't see these as often as the other two, they really have a very different coloration to them. And I'm pleased to see that it reacted with a food response rather than kicking hairs all over her enclosure. That plastic bin, while not ideal for viewing, will provide the climate it needs. Looking forward to seeing these reach their adult sizes. Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)
Hello Dave and Camera Lady. I was anxiously awaiting the Sunday video and once again was not disappointed. That lovely spider has more personality than some dogs I know! It was funny when she was gnawing on your paint brush. I really love the deeper color of this one compared to the Blonde and the Stermi. She is rich looking and has such cute pink feet. What is not to love about that? I am wondering how long these lovely girls live and when will you be adding the males with an eye to breeding? I really enjoy anything you do with the big ones. Okay, another bang up job to start the week! Now I can sleep happy. I hope y’all have a great week. Take care and stay safe. Thanks for all you do.
@ 21:00 when she turn around and nibbled on the paintbrush I thought that was really cool like you said it wasn't aggressive technique it was just her responding like food.. so awesome!!! But I noticed when Camera lady zoomed in that it looked like the spider really only has one eye!??? But other than that Dave this is why I love your show, you educate everyone on how to take care and love your insect or spider centipede whatever the situation is to treat them with respect and love and you'll get it back awesome awesome show thank you buddy... Love your spider 👍 AND THIS IS WHY YOU'RE THE BEST!!!
Dare I say, this genus has a... hair trigger? I will not apologize for that pun. Any rate, I've found my Apophysis actually uses the moss to landscape her den. She's entirely ignored the cork bark and instead created a sort of dome made of moss and webbing that she hides under. Stirmi, on the other hand, has a large cork log that she hasn't even webbed in. She just sits inside like a grumpy old man waiting for crickets to step on her lawn. They are a wonderful genus for those willing to take the time to get the environment right.
I love that you talked about the moisture/dampness in the substrate, I think far too many people go overboard. I know I certainly struggled with it the beginning years, I was too anxious especially with slings. 😅 Anyway point is, excellent video and information. Thanks Dave, love getting these before bed time. Ends my days on a positive note.
My husband is a Master Cabinetmaker. What he does to control how far he drills down into wood is place a piece of tape on the drill bit itself.....making all depths the same. (for those afraid of making the holes to big) Another excellent video.

Hi Dave and Camera Lady 💙💕hope you’re both doing well today. I love to see the giant bird eaters spiders 🕷 Like the Blondes and pink foot tarantulas. Such a big beautiful tarantula and lightning fast too when she wants to be! Interesting video dear Dave and Sweet Camera Lady! Many spiders and tarantulas are very fast runners so you should not be fooled by there size or sometimes or most normal docile behavior. They are much faster than you think...but not in a negative sort of way but if you handle them you need to be very aware of it! Have a wonderful week, take care you both! Hugs from Susanne 👩🦳 and Trollet 🐱 🐾 ❤.
I just did a rehouse on a large juvenile 1 1/2" -2" it turned out great. I'm pretty new with 4 T's, but I stay calm (from your teachings) and cool like with my python.
His rehousing advice is so good. The best piece of advice I've gotten is to keep contact with the spiders leg or whatever you are touching so it doesn't freak out. Also, being calm does help, a lot. Good luck with your Ts. I started with 1, then 3, then 8, (then lost a sling after a molt), then just got 3 more, so I'm at 10 and am stopping for a while. I would've stopped at 8, but my loss really bothered me. I went to Reddit and their discord and they said what I did was right and my enclosures were fine, so, I think it was a molt prob since it passed 36 hours after a molt. Anyway, good luck and have fun!
Always so happy to get a notification from you! And always love seeing the big spiders! I still don’t have any spiders as pets, but am fascinated! I think I will start with a little jumping spider! 😜
Thanks Dave, as always I learned something new. I still haven't been brave enough to get one of these yet! Though after watching your video, I just might! fabulous footage my friend.

I've watched quite a few so it's come as quite a shock that I'm re-considering after this particular one. well done Dave!!
Awesome vlog as always Dave . Your attention to every detail is brilliant! Such a shame the boss won’t allow me to have a dabble . As I’ve asked you not too long ago about keeping the ‘ Goliath Bird eating Spider 🕷’ she won’t have a bar of it 😥😥😥 . Great work Dave , keep it up 👍.
I think I’ll let you keep all those types Dave. None for me thanks! ☺️I quite like the smaller variety…especially the Brazilian Jewel’s due to their beauty but also I love that clever trap door. Hope we see yours again soon.😘👍🏻
Me too! I love the look of that tiny T. They are incredibly fragile and die all the time, as slings. I'm too afraid to get one because the slings are like 200 bucks and I am afraid it won't make it. I have an Idiothele mira, and it has a trap door and blue feet. It's a small T, that pops up out of the trapdoor in the ground, and grabs prey and sinks right back into the trap door. It's so cool! Her name is Arya, and I love her so much, I think the common name is Blue Footed Baboon.
Hi Dave, I believe they actually lose those pink feet once they mature and the stirmi only has pink on the first 4 legs and fade as they grow of course. Also great set up and great video 😊

Yeah uneven lines of air holes annoy me too. I have to have more ne at the same level with the same distance between each hole and all the holes the same size. Having the air holes all higgildy piggildy looks terrible. I don’t use a drill though I use a soldering iron.
I'm a complete novice when it comes to large arachnids, before buying one I am going to make sure that I learn everything necessary to ensure that the spider is kept healthy and content, and your videos are a goldmine of information, incidentally, how frequently does the pink footed goliath need to be fed?.
I use a soldering iron to make air holes into plastic boxes. Is easy to make and the plastic does not tear or break. Only disadvantage is that the holes are a little thick due to the melting plastic.
Fantastic to see the Apophysis. Looking forward to seeing her journey

Maybe one day!
Great video Dave!
I’ve been haired by a molt I pulled from my T apophysis. They aren’t a joke. Great video as usual Dave!
Sorry to hear that
i love your videos and your channel! They've helped me learn so much and be able to appreciate spiders more! I'm getting a sling very soon :)
Well done.
Hi Dave, I believe they actually lose those pink feet once they mature and the stirmi only has pink on the first 4 legs and fade as they grow of course. Also great set up and great video 😊
Thanks For The Lovely Video Footage Dave I Am Getting One Off These Soon And Your Information Has Really Helped Me To Know How To Look After It Your Spider 🕷️ Is Just A Gorgeous Girl I Loved The Way She Had A Good Nibble On That Brush Bless Her Fangs Looked Massive I Hope She Is Happy In Her New Enclosure Lots Off Love Baby Girl 🕷️🕷️🕷️🕸️🕸️🕸️ PS Dave You Are Such A Lovely Guy God Bless You 🙏 🙏 Thank You So Much 💕 I Loved The End Bit Keep Calm And Love Your Spider 🕷️ Beautiful Words
Yeah uneven lines of air holes annoy me too. I have to have more ne at the same level with the same distance between each hole and all the holes the same size. Having the air holes all higgildy piggildy looks terrible. I don’t use a drill though I use a soldering iron.
Wow! Just wow! One I’ll leave to you Dave 😂 beautiful but HUGE! 😳
I'm a complete novice when it comes to large arachnids, before buying one I am going to make sure that I learn everything necessary to ensure that the spider is kept healthy and content, and your videos are a goldmine of information, incidentally, how frequently does the pink footed goliath need to be fed?.
They're very flexible, every week or two is fine.
I use a soldering iron to make air holes into plastic boxes. Is easy to make and the plastic does not tear or break. Only disadvantage is that the holes are a little thick due to the melting plastic.
You won’t split the plastic with a step drill
@@daveslittlebeasties was no critic but only another possibility to make air holes into plastic boxes. 👍
@@stefanbecker3548 I didn't take it as a criticism my friend ❤👍
