im just wondering when a burrowing venture is falling in air are there interrupts like hook, sig rock, hack maybe because you can damage them during it
can venture be headshot by a widow, mei, or hanzo while diving for burrow? that's prob be hard to test but im wondering if the animation has a headbox
Does Venture ult damage a burrowed Venture? Reason I ask is because I think it happened to me. And it would make sense because the ult bullets travel under ground and every other attack ability does not, making Venture immune to the other abilities.
Does blizzard effect barrow?
In OW1 came out there was a time when Rein while in a grav from Zar couldn’t shatter. The shatter would go off but you would be suspended in animation so blizzard implemented a change where when Rein shatters he is immune to grav. Venture’s ultimate works the same as a shatter where you can’t actually use it on the ground. Im curious if they made the same adjustment or kept it in
I think Rein's Earthshatter should 100% hit a burrowing Venture. He's SHATTERING the ground Ventures in!

Agreed. If you in the ground and he shatters, your head should appear our of the ground like “whack-a-mole”. And if you dont die, you go back into ground if you have burrow time still active.
I would say the game deserves some goofy interactions like these
Same with an enemy venture ult and you should be able to break through sigma rock

Two things that they should change is that a burrowed venture should be affected by earthshatter, and drill dash should break through accretion.

For consistency, nothing. Adding unique interactions is the opposite of consistency.

Like my Torb example with all fire damage does extra damage to armor
It gives characters more interaction than just damage healing and meditation
Or makes building synergies a little cooler like JQ + Ana is anti healing synergy. fire could be anti armor builds. earth could be interactive with earth if digging is added again in a different way.
Interesting thing I noticed the other day btw: Venture's melee gets amplified by Bap window, which is a bit strange to say the least :D

Well, for Hanzo is more of a "These are my arrows, i use them because when i pick up a sword i get ptsd from the time i almost kill my brother"
What they absolutely need to change is to both Venture and Rein to be able to ult burrowed Venture.
Rein is already good against venture. Doing that defeats the purpose of the ability.

Fun fact: Ventures melee gets damage boosted through window. To that effect, I wonder if genji can deflect Ventures melee? LOL

One thing they should add, crit damage if you hit someone's head from above while burrowing. Like if you use burrow from high ground and hit someone on the way down.
Well, if you think about it, Sombra DOES go invisible, but the sounds of her feet/shoes hitting the ground or floor (depending where on a map she is) can still be heard. :) What i mean is that Venture is using the vibrations of everyone's movements to figure where allies or enemies are when she is underground. So, as i said, Sombra may be able to go invisible, but she still makes some sounds.
This is an interesting theory! And id like to mention Venture uses they/them pronouns. Not everybody knows tho lol :)

A small rotation tip/tech for maximum shields. Burrow, dash immediately,full charge emerge. This will put you at max shield (75) and your drill dash will come off cool down as you reach the peak of your emerge. Dash again after taking damage for another 40 shield.
I used this rotation in a fight, got hacked on emerge and had to pop ult to survive (ult gives you max shields). After using my ult I was at 82 total hp (7hp and 75 shield). I would have died if not for the extra shield from the burrowed drill dash.
In total that's 190 shield and it allowed me to survive long enough to get a nano boost and wipe the enemy team off the cart with my ult 💪

An important information is that a Lifeweaver tree can heal a Venture while they're underground
And also, the Zen heal orb stays indefinitely on a Venture who's underground so the LOS rule doesn't apply here
EDIT: The Lifeweaver tree heal was a bug and was fixed

So you could extend the Los of healing orb with burrow cool

@@ciach0_ ? Wdym? Because I was thinking wait the 4 second of broken los - Barrow - los would run out but you aren't effected by the logic - emerge and the los check would then take away the orb if los isn't restablished

@@heyyou9903 well the los is 7 seconds if i dont remember it wrong. OP probably means if you go far away from zen so he cant see you anymore. normally you wont break the orb los if you are burrowed
you can protect your team from JQ ult by drilling into her and cleanse yourself by burrowing. And your ult cant go off while in the air, for example in a grav.
But holding the shoot button brings her to the ground faster so you can shoot it sooner
ventures drill has a wider hitbox then doomfists fist so if it lines up right venture can push doomfist backwards during dooms punch
I feel like Doom's and Rein's Ult SHOULD get Venture out of the ground. The digging ability is very OP and might become very useful in high ranks as when everyone uses their ults, Venture just goes underground and gets nothing for 4 whole seconds lol

One thing to note about Venture’s burrow is that there’s a cast time so there’s a bit of a window where their burrow can get cancelled by dying or CC (stun, sleep, hinder, etc)

Lucio speed boost does actually work
I tested it with my friend and I went way further on the speed compared to no speed
Two questions I think should be tested:
1. If sigma puts his shield above ground, not exactly on it, can venture travel under it?
2. Does burrow cleanse positive effects?
An example would be throwing an Ana grenade at venture above ground, and checking if venture still has this effect while burrowed.

Glad you showed the Orisa interaction. Noticed that in match. Helps to push Orisa back, so she's not as oppressive when she's not countered
One interaction I noticed is if you use one of your ult charges while in the air it seemed like you defend to the ground faster in order to use it
the emongg mythbusting drinking game: take a shot everytime emongg says "see?"

I would've also like to see if drilling forward procd bap ult. Hard to say if you tried to test this one but if you put a petal on top of a burrowed venture can venture drill up through the petal? Lastly, it looked like you got the timing wrong on the doom punch vs drilling forward. Might be worth testing again
A lot of these tests seem unnecessary with Burrow. It is basically the exact same rules as Mei's Ice Block.
I find a lot of these "new character mythbusters" videos to contain a lot of worthless tests. Some make sense, but almost all of these are not going to do anything. (also, isn't it a bit weird that he failed to time the doomfist punch test twice in a row and gave up? Why are you even doing the mythbusters if you're not going to properly test one of the few myths with some actual merit?)
Because a lot of these interactions can have oversights from the devs, that only end up being discovered in these tests. For example, Mauga's burn was not being cleansed by health packs even though every other burn would be, it is very easy to just assume it works the same, but you don't actually know until you test it.
Because people are stupid and dont know how these abilities works. If Emongg wouldnt test them people would say "Why didnt you test them???"

Things like testing if they can be slept during ult but not testing if they can be hacked/empd out of ult
you can cancel venture's burrow but its got a very low react time (ive done it numerous times as doom)
you can also control venture's distance with the drill dash by looking a certain direction
(looking above them makes you travel with them longer, looking directly at them makes them do medium distance, looking at their feet will make them barely move)
you can also look straight up while crouching to launch them back while not launching yourself forward
You should be able to earthshatter AND terra surge a burrowed Venture, it’s in the names lol… and yeah it would be sick if you get a direct drill on a sigma rock you should break it
Can you use Sym's teleporter while transitioning from high to low ground in burrow? I would guess no, but you are technically above ground at that point, so maybe.
If you immediately melee after the drill charge dash, does it keep the momentum going (like a rein swing does after pinning someone off an edge)? Could it help with booping?
I figured that Terra Surge would hit a burrowed Venture. It comes up from the ground
While burrowing, you can jump small gaps in the ground by dashing
I think venture should be able to drill through sigma's rock. it's a DRILL!

What about Hanzo's ultimate? Can the dragons/wolves (depending on the skin/model) hit Venture when underground? We know that Hanzo's ultimate can pass through anything and hit anything and anyone in its way.
If venture is invulnerable, that probably won't matter.

Why in god's name has it been a point of contention to limit Lucio's boop all this time, when Venture now has a cooldown that can throw a person like 3.5x further. Additionally, this character now has a better invuln or cleanse than any support can offer, basically immortal for like 5 seconds and can move throughout that time.
i wonder- if a lifeweaver petal is on the ground and venture digs through it, will raising the platform lift venture up with the petal or will they remain on grounded level?
The zenyatta orb and mercy beam interactions are inconsistent as they both have LOS forgiveness but only zen works? I’m curious about lingering healing aura with Lucio cause that wasn’t tested here
when cassidy ults and venture is burrowed, they are still targeted by the ult and you will die after burrow!
Earth shatter should definitely stun venture in place underground, so they'll remain invulnerable but won't be able to move for a period of their burrow.
They should also totally be able to drill dash through sigmas Rock. Literally no interaction in the game makes more sense than that.
You can drill dash rein charge. Just aim at the edge of his hitbox.
orisa javelin spin can delay venture burrowing into the ground kinda like pushing rein mid shatter animation

Hm, burrow seems really strong. It is a 4 second uninterruptible invulnerability that lets you reposition and set up damage combos. And also gives you shields for some reason.
Venture is definitely the ned Dps Doomfist and I already kinda hate it :/ This hero is so cc heavy. Cant wait to go up against a doom, lucio, venture comp
Does Burrow prevent the already-attached healing from Inspire, Repair Pack, Regenerative Burst and Biotic Grasp?
I think burrow needs to be on a bigger cooldown. 1 second is insane. They can just continuously burrow, you cant damage them, they fly out of the ground and delete you. Fun

An interaction you didn’t test was if you could heal venture with tree of life while burrowed
The best way to compare burrow is Mei's cryo. Both cannot be interacted with both enemies and allies.

While going from high -> low ground while burrowed, are they still invulnerable or is it more like pre-burrow diving state?
Easy way to test is to see if a turret targets them as they're diving from high->low.

I can't help but feel that Tera Surge and other ground based moves should at least hit Venture.

Aaron Keller/hero design team. If you see this, niche interactions should be more prevalent. Let venture drill through Sigma accretion
I can’t say venture isn’t extremely fun to play. But I think he way over tuned. Mobility wise. He has too vertical movements drill rush and charge jumping out of the ground. That’s a lot of air time for a ground/digging themed hero. And he has so many sources of damage. Every thing he does even his passive does damage. They aren’t even targetable for half the match because they’re underground. And when the are targetable. They get free shield health just for interacting or reacting in away way possible. Or just jump away to high ground
This is 100% my style character and I'm so excited

Left click is ash's left click from paladins. Dash is caspian's dash. The ult's format of supercharging your next 4 attacks is reminiscent of androxus' ult, but the actual shots are unique.

that's odd that venture actually has 2 different models. the rocks and their normal person.
it seems like that ability changes the model entirely to a completely different entity considering you can't target
Edit: alright the kiriko step and the healing orb make my wonder what is really going on there? i kinda get the whole orb thing because it lingers when LoS.... but my theory of the model entirely changing may be botched then. OH i think it's a transform effect like how ram goes from his smaller form to his massive one so im assuming it works like that visual wise but mechanically it seems to work like mei's ice block. to some extent that is.
also you didn't test if lucios speed effects the distance of drill dash, i doubt it but that's what i said about the kiriko blink.
