    Got a 25mm f1.4 c mount security camera lens, that I used on my G7 with some pretty good results, really nice in low light, lots of vignetting, and soft edges, but thats the charm of the lens, and cant beat the price at 26 bucks with the adapter and shipping included. Great demo video, thanks.

    The fact that you're shooting on a 4K RAW camera, you can definitely crop in a little to avoid the slight vignetting as well which is good. Ill be testing out some good C mount lenses soon, should be good. Love the 16mm look. Cheers! :)

    There are c mount groups on FB. One of the issues is that Fujinon TV zooms, not all, but some, have too wide a base for the usual C mount adapters. Some have a base ring as do their excellent primes. Removing reveals a T mount, but the issue is flange distance, as infinity focus may be lost, or parfocal ability.
    This may be a decent opportunity for you?
    Russiais now the source of cine and TV lenses that have a 27mm screw. Demand for these may not be insubstantial, given the respect for Helios and Volga lenses produced. They may have 100,000 such lenses? An untapped market

      Some 12.5mm lenses badged Cosmicar, Izukar or Soligor will cover m4/3 sensor, but they have a removeable filter ring. Most do not. I have a few of these. Most do not have the removeable filter ring.

    Is there anyway to get them to work on EF mounts? I saw this, ordered for my BMPC 6k pro before realising the flange distance of the 6k makes it too far away - is there an adapter that would bring the lens closer to the sensor without damaging?

    • @FotodioxInc
      @FotodioxInc  5 місяців тому

      Unfortunately not. The Canon EF mount was designed for DSLR cameras, so it has a deep focal flange distance so there's enough space for the mirror to flap up and down without hitting the lens. Why Blackmagic thought it was a good idea to use this mount on a mirrorless cinema camera is beyond me, but the downside is it greatly limits what lenses you can adapt to Pocket 6K EF mount cameras. To get a C-mount lens to focus to infinity, you'd need an adapter that recesses the C lens way into the cavity of the camera, and as far as I know, no one has made an adapter like this. For lenses that you can adapt to the Pocket 6K, check out this video we made: ua-cam.com/video/JnhnNHEhT9w/v-deo.html

    • @FotodioxInc

      Not necessarily. CCTV just stands for closed circuit television, which some C-mount lenses are made specifically for, but all of the C-mount lenses I'm using in this video were made for 16mm movie cameras and not CCTV cameras. I just purchased a Tokina TV Lens 12.5-75mm f1.8 Macro for my black magic pocket 4k. First time trying a c mount lens. I knew there would be a vignette but I'm basically getting a full circle in the middle of my frame. Even zooming in doesn't do anything. Is this just due to the type of lens I'm using/adapter/ or camera? Is there any way to reduce the vignette outside of post? And if removing it by zooming into the footage in post how much quality in the footage should I expect to lose. Any help would be appreciated

    • @FotodioxInc
      @FotodioxInc  6 місяців тому

      Unfortunately those TV lenses were made for video sensors even smaller than a strip of 16mm film, so unlike c-mounts made for 16mm motion picture cameras, they will heavily vignette on an MFT sensor. I'd recommend experimenting with shooting in 4K and cropping in to HD resolution. That's going to be your only real option.

      Unfortunately you can't mount C-mount lenses on the BMPCC 6K because the camera's Canon EF mount has a focal flange distance that's deeper than a C-mount's focal flange distance. We do make a C-mount to Canon EF mount adapter, but it's only for macro focus work, because the C-mount, mounted so far away from the sensor, will only be able to macro focus. It's a real shame that Blackmagic went with a DSLR mount for their mirrorless camera, because it limits how many kinds of lenses you can adapt to it.

      That wouldn't work for two reasons. 1: our C-mount to EOS adapter is actually only designed for macro focusing and 2: the speedbooster is designed to shrink the image circle of a full frame lens to fit a smaller sensor, but because the C-mount lens is already designed to cover a smaller sensor, using it on a speedbooster would just make it vignette. I own a Bolex H8 Reflex (Double8) which has a C-mount turret. I am not sure de lenses was same for 8mm and 16mm film.
    Now I am looking for 3x the same lens so I can integrate the footage actually shot with 8mm film with digital footage using the same lens. I stumbled upon the Rasberry Pi 10MP C-mount lensen. Would that work?

    • @FotodioxInc
      @FotodioxInc  4 роки тому

      Hi Michel, here's some info I found: "The lens mount on the H-8 REX was the same 1" thread diameter as found on the standard C-mount of the H-16 and other 16mm cameras. However, the optical distance between lens seat and film plane was 15.305mm (compared with 17.52 on 16mm)." So unfortunately, even though these are technically C-mount lenses, they won't work on a traditional C-mount lens adapter, because they have a shorter focal flange distance to C-mount lenses. I'd recommend getting some traditional C-mount lenses in similar focal lengths to your Bolex Double8 lenses to adapt to whatever digital camera you're using.

      @@FotodioxInc Would purchasing D-mount lensen with an adapter ring work for the Bolex H8R camera Yvar 13mm F1.9. I would need a D to C adapter too, which I found.

    Hello, do you sell an adapter for Argus C3 lenses to Pocket 4K? What type of mount use Argus lenses?

      We do not, but it looks like there are some custom made ones on ebay. Here's a link to one: www.ebay.com/i/173187109090?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=173187109090&targetid=883441960689&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9021444&poi=&campaignid=9426387573&mkgroupid=96480184500&rlsatarget=pla-883441960689&abcId=1140476&merchantid=113675508&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIsKL0k7nZ6QIVCL7ACh031whWEAQYAyABEgJSVPD_BwE

    Kubrick used an extender to put a 16mm lens on a 35mm camera to get the correct image circle. Would this work with the BMPCC 4k?

      If you just used a tube the lens would only be able to macro focus. You'd have to use it with a 2x teleconverter with a doubling optic.

    I'm shooting with an angenieux zoom 12 120 c mount lens on the bmpcc4k with the fotodiox adapter...I usually shoot at 1080... I'm assuming you shot this in 4k and cropped in ? I love the super 16 set up and wanna get better at it !

      No, I didn't actually do any cropping in the video. So the lenses that don't vignette in the footage actually do cover the Micro 4/3 sensor.
