Right on, Robert! Thanks for watching. Straight lines come from a few different things. 1: The right router bits, 2: Having our baseplate, 3" A decent piece of wood, and 4: practice.
With those 4 things, you'll be carving straight lines in no time 👍👍
@@oldave100 thanksfor info , i know i need a base plate so i can get more control and i using the 60 bit and loving it just doing lines and corners like on a love heart today and alittle wobble hear and there lol

You guys are awesome! This is such a cool template! Do y’all have SVGs of your templates that you sell? I would love to buy SVGs because my wife and I use her Cricut to cut out our templates in vinyl. If you don’t already, you might consider offering them! I’d definitely buy some!

Eric what layout letters should i get to start out with? I was thinking about 1, 1.5, and 2 inch Clarendon. What do you recommend/use the most
Hi Jacob, the Clarendon font is my favorite, but the are pretty difficult for just starting out. For brand new sign carvers I recommend Fatty Font. They look great and are very forgiving. Not near as many straight lines as Clarendon.
1" 1.5" and 2" are perfect for any small signs you want to make.
When carving , I understand you folks set the depth to certain levels, but what do I set my speed on the router to ?
When carving wood, we always keep our routers at the highest RPMs.
Why wouldn't the problems be the same carving horizontal grain as is vertical? Just in a different direction.
It's just a different version of the same challenge
What price would you get for this
