Thanks for watching! Sorry for the late replay I really appreciate the feed back! It’s super cool interactions with everyone that makes it worth it. Got a lot of work to do but with feed back and good heading we’ll make it happen :)
I don’t usually but if I do I always dock top usb port to a 1440p monitor just for mouse and keyboard function if I’m like typing a paper or doing school stuff. If I can make do with it in tablet form I will
Still my favourite Windows gaming handheld yet. But since Asus has given 80Wh battery and 24GB RAM for Ally X, Lenovo should do the same for the next-gen Legion Go 2. There should also be a 32GB RAM option.
Ally X sounds great, but I rather have more screen size for reading quest on games than have more RAM/Battery. I understand RAM its a quick memory and NMVE speed it's so fast it can keep giving more data to the ram without a sacrifice in performance in most of the games. The only thing I think it would change the game for all of us is GPU improvement or more support for ARM processors in gaming and PC handhelds. Battery in Ally X sounds great, but battery is meant to be wasted with the cycles and the heat, so... We better look for power plugs instead looking for 24 hours of battery in x86 architecture.
I wonder what the Legion 2 is going to be like. Detachable controllers are a huge thing for me because when its a tablet it can be mounted on a gooseneck mount and that's perfect for any kind of chair or bed.
@@farishanafiah8461 I just wish other handheld makers would do the same. like the retroid pocket or ayaneo. just give me a 7 inch tablet and reduce the price. I will find it way more useful.
Customer support was great when I needed a new right controller, at first they wanted me to send the whole thing back until I specifically told then it was a detachable controller that was the problem, within 2 days had a replacement and didn't even need to send the other back, UK.

I got it day one. It beat the steam deck, and i never got a rog ally. Don't get me wrong the steam deck was cool but really struggled on games i preferred to play. So far, almost everything i throw at the legion go it runs. Like you said, an oled would be an amazing plus and extra battery life. I really hope they keep the controllers detachable like others have mentioned. I like the profile of the go also. Looking forward for the LEG2 cheers 🍻
Got a new set of joycons here in the USA free of charge from Lenovo. Bought my legion go from Best Buy open box. Restated my warranty through Lenovo and everything I love their group
That's a really good point that the FPS mode allows you to play strategy games comfortably, like Total War etc. No one else talked about that and almost all reviewers thought that feature is just a gimmick that isn't really useful! I already thought it was cool to have it as a mouse if you use the LeGo as a PC for working on it or navigating etc... But indeed it's usable for strategy games too (not just FPS games)! Cool 👍
Absolutely agree with you.... Any of those had easy start but get better overtime. I love legion and wouldnt change it. Disadvantage for all of them is ram size.... If they could do 32gb ram shared it would ve awesome. Support in UK/eu is awesome... Had issue with fan noise and collection next day even i didnt have it ready... During service plenty of email, pictures and updates.... Returned in 5-6days from sending it.
Great input. I waited for these first big names to bake for awhile. When asus came out with the ally x 80wh battery and 24gb ram. Now it's getting to that time to buy. So Legion Go 2 is the one I'm going to get oled. I would love to get the ayaneo 3, but I'm not sure how long that is going to take to come out.
I skipped the Steam Deck and when I first entered Best Buy and tested the Demo Rog Ally a store associate approached me and said... "I am not supposed to say this but... don't buy it... a lot of customers have returned their Rog Ally" and within a short window Legion Go was announced. I bought the Legion Go on the first week of release and have no regrets. It's a great device and the only way I'll upgrade will be is if Legion Go 2 refines everything about the first Legion with better specs, slimmer, 24-32GB RAM, Z2-Z3 Extreme, no bezels or OLED screen, and definitely keep the detachable controllers. (I don't see the point of a Legion Go Light lacking a Z1).
I’ve done a tonne of YouTubing, basically in my amateur opinion. - find your favourite games and find out if they play on said device - do you like a bigger screen? - do you do anything outside of said device - do you play in bed or have a lot of time that you need a battery? - memory capacity Not many questions beyond that 😂 Edit: and favorite OS system I chose legion 😅
The Go2 is almost ready by now i think they will launch it around March next year by then the original go will drop even lower i guess. You should wait
I think the 24gb doesn’t make a big enough difference unless you’re docking it, in the future it definitely will. As for the battery big plus on the original ally but compared to the deck or legion it’s not as noticeable. I just 7 inch screens are hard for me. I think it’s my second choice I’d pick it over the steam deck
It really depends on so many factors. The biggest one being are you happy with your purchase at its price? The next one is going to be 800 bucks probably and might not be until April.
@@joystickayrton I got a 2 TB model for 670 Im just hoping for a bigger battery I don't think an extra 200 would be a game-breaker for a larger battery and maybe Oled? What do you think?
i enjoy the ability to be able to use it as a tablet for watching youtube/movies/reading. i used to travel with my gaming laptop and a tablet. legion go is great cause it can be both. thought the battery life/ gaming performance and espeically the Software support is rather lacking. i feel the screen size is just right. just sharing my opinion. Im currently using lossless scaling for some games but i rally hope Lonovo do something with the AMF2. ( wonder how long it will take )
I'm a previous steam deck oled owner (from launch day), I sold it 3 months ago, and I'm now looking to buy another handheld pc. Toss up between steam deck oled 1tb and legion go 512gb (£30/$40 more expensive), the bigger screen is what's drawing me to the legion go. I will use solely at home, with access to a plug or power bank at all times. Does the legion go outperform the deck? You mentioned optimisation bringing deck into the fight against the Z1 so I'm wondering performance wise, which is better? Oled deck or legion go?
Depends on the title if it’s an fps most of the times I will, a souls game usually not but I’ve seen it improve things in some titles, make things worse in others and do absolutely nothing at all in others
The legion go new iteration just needs to be lighter , larger battery , improved fans/thermals ,better speakers , more ram and options for different true strike controllers , maybe larger thumb sticks as well , 2280 ssd instead of 2230 , move the 2nd usb c to the bototmf center and have a keyboard attachment.
I had a steam deck, currently have an ally x and legion go. I love the battery, fan, and vrr of the ally x but man it always feels like a different experience with that legion go screen. Playing red dead 2 and the witcher 3 is unmatched on that large screen.
My local tech store has 500$AUD off right now. Will be getting it for xmas i think. Would be multi purpose for me, can sit in bed, play games and do a bunch of work and emails. I don't think that's the best strategy. You should always take in consideration the extra costs to spend VS the new features that a Gen 2 could offer. I've heared a huge improvement in processor memory and also battery so I've decided to save money and buy gen2 next year
@amirhaddad5025 I would be fine with a discounted gen1. Not trying to spend too much on an undepowered laptop with a controller attached. The most they cam do to help with the battery is put in a bigger one like Asus did. And they always claim "huge" improvements. And it's always marginal just like the ryzen apus
All the current gen z1 and Chinese 8 series handhelds are comparable to the awkward teenager stage… not quite android gaming or Switch but not yet fully Xbox X/PS5 on the go… No matter what one you have of the current gen is fine until there’s a decent cpu/gpu update.
