- lots of beeps and lights
- a message that someone had, in the past, deliberately designed to show a decorational progress bar of such "hacking"
And a lot of clicking sound effects 😂
I'm a web developer, and before I got into the profesional business I thought that using terminals was outdated however once I started working with TDD and BDD I realized that running commands in a terminal is the fastest most efficient way to develop anything.
My computer screen looks like some of this scenes pretty much 90% of the time.

What , a metasploit script? One thing for sure, no one can bypass windows firewall without user interaction. Although u can spoof each web eg.fb BUT any browser will authenticate ssl certificates and still NO. How i wish i found some zero day exploit with my own. I will not rely from metasploit etc from now on! Ill built my own!

While not super accurate, some had very realistic elements (Snowden, WhoAmI, Blackhat). Yes, as a software engineer I still use terminal often and usually with black background (Contrast can be easier to see). Though, I only turn on green letters when things get serious...
The Snowden one literally had the instructor(sorry if I'm wrong, haven't seen the movie) cd into backup(the terminal didn't reflect the change, it didn't change current directory for ~), then display a folder "aril", which had 100 files with the name aril. That's it. Also there's no way a guy created and deployed a chat room(I think that's what it said), deleted it and restored it in 38 minutes. Even if he is a genius, computers don't run at the speed of light.

The sound effects the hacking programs makes on the computers are so hokey. That's some 90s cliche right there.
The hacking depicted in Hackers is so laughable. But it’s still one of my favorite movies.
It's the most accurate depiction of hacking in all film, because rather than trying to accurately depict the actions of hacking - they accurately conveyed the emotions of hacking. Is Joey actually flying through a sea of code and equations? Of course not. Does he feel like he is when he opens what should be a Garbage folder, and finds the most immaculately coded virus he's ever seen? Yes - he's overwhelmed - whoever made it (The Plague) is worlds beyond Joey's ken: and Joey is awestruck. Is Crash Override actually seeing old movie clips of swordfighting and sex while he's 'dueling' with Acid Burn for ODS-station control? Of course not, he's staring at a very boring command prompt for hours. Does he feel like he's a battle of rapier-sharp wits? Absolutely.
What Hackers got right, and everyone else gets wrong, is that they told the audience what it means and feels like to the Hacker. Everyone else is going for accuracy and failing just as hard anyways (with a few noticeable and therefore visually boring exceptions).

The best of the best, thanks for sharing it, they were my inspiration to start computing. Although in real life, what happens in reality is scary. It's worse than that. I saw many black hats end very badly; They messed with the bad guys and saw that they are really bad. That's why you always have to be a white hat, so one walks within the law and calm.

Hacking is programming in which you have to make tools and run them..
You don't really have to make any tools. All tools are already available with detailed manuals on how to use them. You just need to have deep understanding on how operating systems/networks work and how and when deploy those tools.
