The night after the FESTA when they announced their time off, ARMY went crazy with this and JK got online the next day and talked to ARMY saying they are not disbanding. He was so good at comforting us and I appreciated him coming online to reassure us.
As an Army, I am assured tha BTS 💜 is coming back more strongly in 2025. Each member more powerful and as a group most powerful. As an example we can see Jin, as he returns back he is more confident and packed with more projects. Presently we are ready to welcome J Hope.
We can't compare BTS to any other group because their story is completely different. Trust Bangtan, they've always kept their word.💜💜 The thing is no ARMY was worried when they announced the break, yet media decided to make it sound like we went crazy.
To be fair, the ARMYs who watched the live as it happened weren't concerned, but we who missed it came in to a very confusing situation, with rumors flying in every direction and Twitter freaking out. ARMY translators had done their best to settle things down, but more people were picking up the 'official' media reports (and of course, haters were spreading it as fast as they possibly could) so the truth was slow to get around. I was one of the later folk myself; Weverse was total chaos by that point, and my usual info-channels had not clarified yet, so it was fairly unsettling. 😵💫 I suppose the media took notes on what a successful commotion they had caused, to use later- like this August, against Suga. But we knew better to fall for it by then. 😑

Why did this video upset me? We all know BTS took a break for the military, and that doesn't mean they're quitting. We just have to wait for him to come back. They love what they do and they are not like One Direction and no matter what the future holds, no matter what happens, ARMY always stands by their side.
And they already agreed to/signed their next Big Hit contracts before they left. 💜 In fact, word keeps going around that it might be a 10-year contract; Universal Music Group reportedly has a contract with HYBE for BTS promos (in the US, I believe) for the next ten years.
When BTS announced their ‘hiatus’, I was in bits (remembering the One Direction ‘hiatus’, of course). Until I thought about it and then I realised that they meant what they said, I knew they had to enlist and after that everything fell into place. I miss them so much and can’t wait for 2025.
One of the things the confusion stemmed from was the fact that they announced the hiatus in june, but they announced military in october. Fans weren't confused because we knew the hiatus was for military even before they officially announced it. Non-fans on the other hand didn't know, they thought it was just a hiatus to focus on solo careers

Anyone who was following 1D at the time knew it was over. We saw them go from happy, healthy kids to exhausted, overworked, adults where 2 of the members couldnt even make eye contact with each other because they were so beaten down by gay rumors. They had changed.
Westerners do my head in sometimes... Just for context, I'm half. The amounts of times I've had to explain things to my Western family and friends and I get a... "no no no it's like this you don't know, you are wrong..." I even have an American uncle-in-law who was trying to tell me how people behave and eat in Italy... and Asia... I'm Italian/Asian and lived in respected counties and grew up in respected countries and he just wouldn't believe me no matter what I said, that he was wrong, because they don't do that in the US... I told them not every country in the world is America. I just gave up in the end and now I just smile and wave... So I am really not surprised with what is going on.
I found BTS March 2022 and was still getting to know them and the industry when they had the live mentioning the "Hiatus" and I will say, I was crying - thinking I had just discovered them and now I'm loosing them. But when the live ended and I got over the initial shock, I started watching content and interviews and they ask ARMY to trust them. So after a while I decided to believe that it will really be a true hiatus and that I should trust them (this happened to also be the time when I discovered what "Borahae" meant), at the very least I will be able to support them as solo artists if I can't support them as a group. And now, here I am, patiently waiting for 2025 - because I trusted 7 normal boys from Korea. 💜 Best decision ever! 💜

Anyway, the only thing that feels like a hiatus is the fact they are gone and there's a void (well, at least that's what old armys feel) but that's bc of the military service, and still the members try their best to fill that void with music and posting sometimes on Weverse or IG. The media DID jump on the "hiatus" thing, but we do need to remember that when they announced it, they DID say it was to focus on solo stuff because they were not allowed to talk about the military enlistment yet. We in the Western world don't really get that, but I will say the press WAS going off what they said at the time.
They did say that, but 'taking a break from group content to work on solo content' isn't a 'hiatus' by any definition of the word. The media very deliberately blew it out of proportion and context, if not as badly as they did with the Kickboard Incident. They are always in a hurry to spread negativity about BTS...

Maybe One Direction did plan on having a hiatus and then found that they were happier apart. It happens. BTS members very obviously all miss each other and still want to perform together. Even before their solo albums they got to do solo performances so could express their own individuality. And they all support each others solo projects.

I was too old for one direction 😂 so I never got the memo of the new meaning of hiatus. To me hiatus means rest and disbandment means break up from either the group, the company or both. If you're a fan of 2ne1, you understand the difference 😂 anyway, I can't wait for 2025 not to prove to the general public or Western media that Army was being honest and that the BTS members were being honest, but just because being Army and having BTS back is something I miss and I'm excited to experience this new chapter with them. Yes, I love all the members and I love their solo activities bought the albums and everything but to have the guys back together performing and making music is going to be amazing because we're definitely going to get new collaborations between the members and more amazing songs and performances. The fans were more worried in the start. Because BTS didn't tell they have hiatus because of military service. I don't know why. They said that they don't know what kind of music want to release as a group and the will start their solo releases. That's why fans kept saying about disbandment. But this situation didn't start from the fans. It was a misinformation from the media. The media kept saying BTS disband.
They weren't discussing their service situation because the government was still trying to decide whether to make a decision about exempting idols. Eventually, I think HYBE got tired of waiting for the government to stop dithering and just announced their plan; I remember the company made a very polite, "Will you please just DECIDE something and INFORM us by (date) so we can plan properly??!" request of the National Assembly. And of course 6 months later there was still no decision. Still isn't, actually; the whole question of exempting idols seems to have been forgotten now.
When Jin was discharged from the military, all of BTS's members showed up as close FAMILY as possible. BTS's strength is being a family.

Anyone who was following 1D at the time knew it was over. We saw them go from happy, healthy kids to exhausted, overworked, adults where 2 of the members couldnt even make eye contact with each other because they were so beaten down by gay rumors. They had changed.
Westerners do my head in sometimes... Just for context, I'm half. The amounts of times I've had to explain things to my Western family and friends and I get a... "no no no it's like this you don't know, you are wrong..." I even have an American uncle-in-law who was trying to tell me how people behave and eat in Italy... and Asia... I'm Italian/Asian and lived in respected counties and grew up in respected countries and he just wouldn't believe me no matter what I said, that he was wrong, because they don't do that in the US... I told them not every country in the world is America. I just gave up in the end and now I just smile and wave... So I am really not surprised with what is going on.
I found BTS March 2022 and was still getting to know them and the industry when they had the live mentioning the "Hiatus" and I will say, I was crying - thinking I had just discovered them and now I'm loosing them. But when the live ended and I got over the initial shock, I started watching content and interviews and they ask ARMY to trust them. So after a while I decided to believe that it will really be a true hiatus and that I should trust them (this happened to also be the time when I discovered what "Borahae" meant), at the very least I will be able to support them as solo artists if I can't support them as a group. And now, here I am, patiently waiting for 2025 - because I trusted 7 normal boys from Korea. 💜 Best decision ever! 💜

Anyway, the only thing that feels like a hiatus is the fact they are gone and there's a void (well, at least that's what old armys feel) but that's bc of the military service, and still the members try their best to fill that void with music and posting sometimes on Weverse or IG. The thing is that they have always spoiled us so much that we were used to so many content release and the fact we are still getting a lot of it, even more than active groups, is crazy .. we are so lucky to be armys 💜

The media DID jump on the "hiatus" thing, but we do need to remember that when they announced it, they DID say it was to focus on solo stuff because they were not allowed to talk about the military enlistment yet. We in the Western world don't really get that, but I will say the press WAS going off what they said at the time.
They did say that, but 'taking a break from group content to work on solo content' isn't a 'hiatus' by any definition of the word. The media very deliberately blew it out of proportion and context, if not as badly as they did with the Kickboard Incident. They are always in a hurry to spread negativity about BTS...
@@ystrw I know. But I WILL add that when WE found out - which was at FESTA DINNER - MY subtitles actually used the word "hiatus". Now, they changed it later, but on my first watch it did use that word. I have always thought that that is where the press attacks started from. And, of course, I agree - they are ALWAYS ready to jump on BTS for ANY reason. Add to that the complete ignorance and arrogance of Western Media and Music Industries and it's such a nightmare.
@@leeswhimsy Yes, I heard that there was a translation muddle. An ARMY translator said that Yoongi's statement was, "We're going on off-season" and it was turned into the word 'hiatus' by the subs. If it showed up on your screen, then doubtless it showed up on others, and that probably was the jumping-off point for all the mess. Which is not an excuse for the press to report 'ARMY reacts to BTS's coming hiatus' when the report should have been, 'Mis-translation agitates fandom needlessly'.

Maybe One Direction did plan on having a hiatus and then found that they were happier apart. It happens. BTS members very obviously all miss each other and still want to perform together. Even before their solo albums they got to do solo performances so could express their own individuality. And they all support each others solo projects.

I totally understand why people reacted the way they did when BTS mentioned "hiatus," but they never failed to reassure us that they are family, that they continue to support each other even through their solo debuts. 💜💜💜 i admit i was scared in 2023 as well and cried so much during Festa 2022, but as we go through 2024 with Jin out and Hobi coming out soon, all the fear of disbandment has dissipated. ❤❤❤ cant wait for 2025!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was too old for one direction 😂 so I never got the memo of the new meaning of hiatus. To me hiatus means rest and disbandment means break up from either the group, the company or both. If you're a fan of 2ne1, you understand the difference 😂 anyway, I can't wait for 2025 not to prove to the general public or Western media that Army was being honest and that the BTS members were being honest, but just because being Army and having BTS back is something I miss and I'm excited to experience this new chapter with them. Yes, I love all the members and I love their solo activities bought the albums and everything but to have the guys back together performing and making music is going to be amazing because we're definitely going to get new collaborations between the members and more amazing songs and performances. I just can't wait! 💜

ARMY's workload had doubled up instead of reducing. songs after songs, albums after albums, content after content. How much hard work they've done before leaving to keep us busy for 2 whole years. and now with jin's comeback and hobi soon returning... we'll be even more busy. Being an ARMY is a full-time job😭.

The fans were more worried in the start. Because BTS didn't tell they have hiatus because of military service. I don't know why. They said that they don't know what kind of music want to release as a group and the will start their solo releases. That's why fans kept saying about disbandment. But this situation didn't start from the fans. It was a misinformation from the media. The media kept saying BTS disband.
They weren't discussing their service situation because the government was still trying to decide whether to make a decision about exempting idols. Eventually, I think HYBE got tired of waiting for the government to stop dithering and just announced their plan; I remember the company made a very polite, "Will you please just DECIDE something and INFORM us by (date) so we can plan properly??!" request of the National Assembly. And of course 6 months later there was still no decision. Still isn't, actually; the whole question of exempting idols seems to have been forgotten now.
