- 2024 Berg-Cup Schotten. 5th event with the V8, second with the #1 2.68l tuned RPX version. We managed the fastest time of the whole weekend 1:19.754.

Thanks, the work is not finished yet with the little v8. There is still a lot of potential, but we need to focus now to get the car otherwise reliable and then we can squeeze some more power from the engine.

I saw a rally style 4-banger Starlet on the street here yesterday. Was hyped on that but this car is the ultimate... And fastest. ; )
Yup we were the only one under 1:20 this year and the competition was over second behind. The weather on Sunday prevented times not to improve from Saturday, but we would have had still at least a second easily on that time if we got a chance in dry warmer track temp on Sunday. Have to wait next time, already at 1:19 was surprise how easy it came.

I've dreamed on installing a flat crank V8 as mid-engine construction to our "shopping bag" Nissan Micra K13 which is pretty close to her retirement. Your compelling Starlet would make me look lika a copy-cat, though. 😂

Puts so many other cars to shame as far as I am concerned. Have been keeping track of the development of your program, and delighted to see what you have accomplished. Impressive. The fact he is driving the starlet many years and always making it faster is nice. Think the time has come for some good aero under the car 😂😂😂😂
Thanks, the next changes will affect aero already and sure eventually will come more aerodynamic features. Now we just need to stabilize the platform so that the car holds together. We are still fighting with the rear axle and the rear 3-link mounts in the chassis.
Ihan uskomaton tuo a ääni, ja voimaa näkyy olevan ihan riittävästi. Vaikka edellinenkin moottori oli kova niin kyllä nyt ollaan eri levelillä, ajaminenkin on kuin jostain videopelistä. Se 3 linkki ei varmaan tule kestämään jos ei kiinityspisteitä saa suoraan turvakaariin kiinni. Jo alle 200hv romuissakin on haasteellista saada ylätanko pysymään kiinni. Suoraan vaan 4-linkki niin ei heti pyörähdä akseli ympäri jos tanko löysää tai lähtee irti.
@@teemuholappa4547 kiitos joo hyvin se pelaa kyllä nyt. Mulla on ollut eri variaatiot 4-linkistä ja kyllä 3-linkki vaan on selkeästi paras. Siinä akseli liikkuu vapaasti kuten sen kuuluukin ja se on selkeästi paras ajaa alkuperäisen vinolinkin lisäksi. Keskilinkki on korin päässä kiinni kaariputkessa joka on keskeltä kardaanitunnelissa ja päistä pääkaaressa. Ensin ratkesi lattia ja sitten meni tuo putki banaanille. Se pitää lisäksi kolmioida takaputkista kun oli taas vetänyt sitä putkea lisää taaksepäin. Jotta sen putken oikaisee joutuu melkolailla vetämään eteenpäin, että voimat on kovia kyllä. Tuo autohan on melko pehmyt kyllä, että kaarien varassa se on, lisännyt putkia vuosien mittaan.

It is pure melody the V8 screaming at high rpms!! ❤ How do you feel the car with this engine versus the old 4age?
It’s the same car, but just better. The front is lighter and weight distribution is better with the V8 (left/right and front/rear). Obviously now we’ve done suspension changes over winter that went to right direction and we have new front brakes. The front stability is much better now and we can use the front tire much more and the deceleration is much better. All in all incredible the new #1 RPX engine also how drivable it is. The torque curve suits really well the car. It’s very fast now. Needs just good rubber and I still hesitate to trust brake late due to the mechanical failure in brakes in Osnabrück last year. But slowly progressing. We were the overall fastest car in Schotten which was a good sign with me not driving 100%.
@VHTRacing I see, I am sure the car is in the right direction and with all the love that you give to this old Toyota Starlet only better is going to be! I have seen the video with mechanical failure of the brakes and indeed it was terrifying 😬 But you are still here and every year you are getting better with the car. I want to thank you as Toyota Starlet fellow for keeping, driving and racing this car, all the best for next races!!

Ne hurjat kiihdytys starletit varsinkin Puerto Ricosta menee vartilla seiskoja tai jopa kutosia ja on suoralla nopeampia, mutta veikkaan, että tollasella mutkaisella asfalttitiellä tätä on vaikea päihittää sen verran on kulkua nyt 😊
