This is a good instruional video. I passed it along to a friend with hopes itll help make better casts, n more hookups. Keep up the good videos! God Bless n Fish on!
I enjoy your teaching style. Well explained and demonstrated. My favorite cast is a totally vertical back load (whatever that's called) because of a wall of trees at my back and then gently just lay it down with the fly settling gently right where I want it. I like the sidecast too, and the roll is the first one I taught my kids when they were just out of diapers. Tip for teaching your children to fly fish- make a super short leader, like 2ft. And use a 3wt setup. Kids don't know it's difficult if they see you do it and you coach them. They think that's normal. And technically, it is. I really liked your message at the end. Leave no trace. My one exception is giving trout guts to the birds
Nice video Simon. I cheat on some conditions, by swapping out to . A micro spinning reel, when there is no way too to cast with a fly reel . As fishing from the shore line, & bushes & trees 3ft behind you. Can't whadd out as the drop off , go's from 3ft to 12ft . That method is excellent if you are fishing rivers & steams.
Hey Farbank the new set although nice seems a little detached from the topic. Between the lighting and white/grey obsession it doesn’t mesh with the sports feel.
Simon Gawesworth has to be one of the best teachers out there for fly fishing. Such a pleasure to watch his demonstrations.

Killer video. These casts mean the difference between catching 3 fish and 20.
Thank you!
Thanks very much
Nice tutorial
Practice, practice, and much more practice. I want to be better 🎣
