Lake Houston Bass Fishing

- So I'm back bass fishing on my old stomping grounds! I am on Lake Houston doing some winter bass fishing. This place didn't disappoint on today's video.
This lake is AWESOME! It fishes very simple and its full of largemouth bass from the dam to the rivers. It's not a big bass factory but you can catch some good numbers.
It also has lots of catfish, white bass and crappie in this place. This is a lake where you can bring your kids and they'll catch a good number of fish. Especially for white bass, catfish and crappie.
My main lures in this video were an Xcite baits Sucka punch in a watermelon red orange color. A Bill Lewis MR6 in the Louisiana shad color. A Bill Lewis 1/2oz rat-l-trap in the green back, chrome and orange belly color and the Strike King Game Hawg.
I fished the east side of the lake in this video. The cool thing about this lake is it's full of shallow cover. It mainly has logs and boat docks for cover, but it has some good creek channel and river ledges on the southern end of the lake.
I'll definitely be making another trip out here for some more bass catching action!

Enjoyed the Lake Houston video. 👍🏼
@@timc8913 thanks bud! I appreciate it. I was out there yesterday and I’ll have another video coming soon.
Enjoying the Lake Houston videos! Please keep them coming.
Thank you! There is a 50/50 chance I’ll be back out there this week. Gonna try to fish over there Wednesday or Thursday
Another Great video bud… you ALWAYS find the fish!
Thanks Mike! Appreciate it.
Thanks for the Lake Houston vids. Trying to learn about freshwater areas to fish bass and crappie around the Houston area.
You bet! I grew up fishing the lake. It’s really a fun place. I’ve got many years experience on it. I’ll be making a few more videos over there this year. The crappie bite is about to get good. By the end of next month it should really start to turn on.
nice to see a local get a decent bag out there.
Thank you! Appreciate it!
Thanks for the video I fish the same areas quite often but not the same techniques goin to have to give them a try
Anytime! I’m gonna try to head back out there this week and do another video. I LOVE fishing that lake during the late fall and winter. It’s a beautiful place. Very nice! Definitely give them a shot! They’ll work for you.
Great video
I fish lake Houston often
Thank you! That’s awesome! I grew up fishing it. I love this time of the year over there.
@@lanceduff I am interested in learning the West fork. But don't know where to launch my kayak
Any suggestions
I’ve always launched on the east side of the lake and ran over there by boat. I know there are a few boat ramps but I’m not sure the name of them.
God bless. Good stuff!
Thank you! God bless!
All those lures in the cedar trees are my famous side arm cast.
😂😂😂😂 those trees have claimed a few of my lures too over the years.
Great video. By the way, do you know if there are pompano at Sea Rim ?
Thank you! It’s not the best area to catch them. I’ve only know of a few guys that’s caught them around there. Our best best in Texas is west of Galveston to get them. Now if we had clean, deeper pretty water we’d see more of them over here.
Liked the video, was this luce bayou area?
Thanks bud. Yes it was.
Are those Magellan Jean's or some new fishing attire? LOL
Who is running the drone?
Hahah those are my FR jeans for work. They were the only ones I had clean 😂
I am
Can I fish with you I live near lake Houston I’ve never been on a bass boat 😢
@@rizzo6783 possibly around the fall we may can make that happen.
@@lanceduffsounds nice man ! Got the perfect rods and tackle for it too , it’d be cool to be your camera man also lol
Perfect! Actually I’m hoping after the first of next year to have someone run the camera. I’m in the process of getting a Sony FX6. It’s an awesome camera that would make my channel look like a legit tv show. It’s a real expensive camera but well worth every penny.
Hey lance where do you launch from?
My two favorite ramps on the lake is Pondarosa and the 1960 ramp. Both are nice
@@lanceduff thanks, about to give it a try.
Let's go fish lake conroe
I’d love to. Just gotta get free time. I sure miss fishing that lake. It’s got some monsters in it
