I heard “Plaids for fall?” in the Devil Wears Prada “Florals for spring?” tone and I laughed. Fun video as always, and yesss I love fall so much, glad it’s so crisp and cool in SoCal this week!
Alexa, please do a video on how you style plaid skirts/pants! Maybe a plaid styling video? Haha. I have a plaid maxi skirt that I’m having trouble styling so I’m looking for inspo ☺️🤍
Some things I like to style with my plaid midi: silky draped shirts (no buttons but different sleeve lengths and necklines), cami and short cardigan sets and roll neck jumpers :) 90s styling is my favourite place to start looking!
Autumn fashion is my favorite because I love sweaters so much. I’ve slowly been thrifting my perfect closet for layering, and I am almost finished checking things off of my wish list!
Honestly it goes from summer to fall to winter in the same day! The key here is layers Layers layers layers! I think this year my fall essentials is going to be vests Thin basic teas or long sleeve shirts, I also have the cutest I also have the cutest purple corduroy blazer that I just got .Colder day I also have a Sherpa lined green courdoroy Jacket. And of course many many many cardigans! As far as shoes go it can be rainy or dry or icy so you just have to go with the flow on the day! Pants anything between jeans to Corduroy slacks, skirts That can be layered with Leggings!
Living vicariously through your videos because I'm spending the best part of fall healing from surgery, ugh! Great plaid pants, those ones with the belt loops and back pockets are chef's kiss! As a PNWer where it does rain A LOT, Jadon's have been just fine as a rainboot for me!
when it gets cold in wisconsin, my go to outfit is leggings or long johns under jeans, chunky boots with thick socks, and layering a tank top, turtle neck, and chunky sweater in that order. I also love a head scarf as an alternative to a hat or earmuffs, it just feels more versatile. I also love long oversized coats, it feels like a blanket when you are swimming in it lol
This year I relocated from Florida to Wisconsin, so I have zero warm weather clothes heading into fall. I've been hitting up local thrift stores looking for warmer tops and pants, and I've met with some success, but not as much as I'd like. My fav score is a chunky black sweater.
Hi Alexa Sunshine 83 :) love your videos :) as a girly who went to catholic school in the 80s and wore plaid all through out elementary school pretty much...i bleed plaid. i am plaid. obsessed with plaid.
I love the idea of plaid pants, no matter how obvious they are in autumn! (Also I sometimes love my autistic brain's first thoughts: 'no of course a rain boot doesn't make sense to own, you'd need two or you can't wear it' lol)
For the jacket in the end I also recommend searching under barn jacket! Its the style you mention with the collar and amazing pockets, originating from farmers and horse owners
I like your plaid pants. I agree - pants like that need belt loops. I understand wanting to wear fall clothes. I thrifted two jackets last spring -- a turquoise suede one and a navy cotton quilted cardigan -- and I have been waiting all summer for it to be fall so I could wear them. Tomorrow is the first day forecast to be cooler than 90!
I only subscribed last summer but I'm so flabbergasted by your upload schedule. You upload SO much. I'm loving it but I'm hoping it isn't too much work for you
At this point, I probably own a turtleneck/mockneck sweater in almost every color of the rainbow...truly my comfort item. If I don't love how a top looks, the first thing my brain says is "try a turtleneck under it"
During our Canadian winters I wear blundstones or Birkenstocks for shoes. Yeah I wear sandals in the winter. Leggings or jeans for bottoms Plain long sleeves and knit sweaters for tops Ankle length puffer coats and snow pants for outerwear. Also real snow boots and proper mittens for outdoor activities like snow machine rides etc.
My favorite part of the video was when she said she’s tired of white crew ankle socks and then immediately shows (what looks like) a white crew ankle sock
Sorel has some great rain boots that don't necessarily look like rain boots. I like the KINETIC short rainboot. The ONA AVE and the EMELIE ARE good too.
It's super rare for me to have clothing from 2015s bc I've fluctuated with weight especially after 2 kids. But I also have a chunky knit sweater I've been able to keep since then my oldest article of clothing I still wear every single cold season🤍🤍🤍
This so makes me wish it was fall where I live! The outfits in this video are just 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 so good. The cat sweater and plaid pants outfit made me audibly gasp.
Hi I’m half way through this but I wanted to ask if you know the brand of those brown and cream colored plaid pants? They’re so cute I’d love to find done. Great video!
I really enjoyed your videos lately …🙌🏼❤️❤️❤️ very inspirational thank you .. ( also may I mention that it’s great to focus on what you’re representing in your videos ( not fiddling around with your hair 🤭😆)and communicating your ideas in every contents .. thank you again 🥰
I live in the UK so no matter what the season its constant rain 😒 I hate water full stop! I also hate all wet weather gear, as all it does is make me sweat 🥵 even a leather jacket. Any good quality, well looked after leather boot is great in the rain. I absolutely love to dress for dry cold days. Lots of layers, laying socks and legwarmers. Layer skirts. Trousers under skirts. Bodysuits are perfect to layer too. I wrap huge checked scarves over jeans to look like a skirt/come kilt feel. I use a big scarf pin to hold them in place. It's like wearing a blanket 😁🥰
I have been searching thrift stores for plaid pants (hopefully wool!) as well as green corduroy pants! I want something between the fun colors and patterns of skirts and the practicality of jeans.
My fall is fairly mild, but for me it's the time for big skirts and mini skirts with tights, also jackets in my town you can't actually wear a jacket before October, not even at night so.
it was nice and warm here in canada until like one week ago i woke up and suddenly it was freeeeeeezing. now im just exclusively in sweaters, pants, big coats, hats and scarves. its officially too cold for my leather jacket, so im wearing my wool one and in another month or so when winter hits ill have to upgrade again to my superpuff.
My 24 year old baby brother has always been a "I wear Doc Martin's everyday. Both for work and casually" kind of guy. But this last spring for his birthday I gifted him a pair of Solovair's and he has totally converted. He absolutely adores them and they definitely feel quite a bit higher in quality, they are lighter but feel more "sturdy" in comparison. He also found the break in period to be shorter and that they kind of "mold" to your feet a bit more. I think they are really worth the "splurge" for the higher quality/longevity of the boots!
@@eli.cirelli That's exactly what I've heard. New Docs don't hold up nearly as well as Solovair's. Like, to the point that I've heard that they hold up even better than the "Made in the UK" boots. I'm really interesting. Thank you for mentioning his experience.
My boyfriend has multiple pairs, boots and loafers and likes them alot. I can say that they still look great after a few seasons! I can't speak on it myself either tho.
I have a pair of solovair platforms that were custom made for the shop I bought them from. The leather is pretty thick and feels high quality. I've had them a year and they look like new but have molded to my feet a little bit. I've never owned docs but I saw the derby ones in a store and touched the leather and it felt really flimsy and soft in comparison to my solovairs. Both the docs and the solovairs cost around 200€ so I definitely think the solos are more worth the money.
I want to experiment with my style in this winter, but when it averages 20 degrees reaching lows like -25 degrees, it's really hard to feel motivated to wear anything besides a sweater and sweatpants 🥲
This is copied from another user but the message is important. As of 2022, Organic Basics is an Israeli company owned by Delta Galil (who are headquartered in Tel Aviv). They have tried to draw attention away from their new ownership by saying they "still operate with the same commitment to ethical practices as before" and "do not have any manufacturing or sales operations in Gaza or the West Bank". This is a meaningless deflection & does NOT mean you should feel comfortable supporting this company. That's an incredibly low bar that they've set for themselves. It's not just a question of if companies literally operate out of Gaza or the West Bank (though that would obviously be atrocious). It's about ending international support for Israel and pressuring them to comply with international law. One of the most effective ways everyday people can put this pressure on Israel is by boycotting Israeli companies. Apartheid in South Africa literally ended because of a movement of people abroad who encouraged citizens not to buy South African products. PLEASE do not support Organic Basics (or any other Israeli companies) if you want this genocide to end! And don't be duped by their empty claim to "ethical standards".
