Hi Robert, thanks for your comment! I based this modification on the Gränsfors Bruk Double Lugged Bearded Axe, which is itself based on a Swedish design of Axe that is dated back to 600ad. Thus, it is regarded as a Viking style of axe. Just because it is available today in the shops, does not mean it isn’t a design inspired by the Viking’s. There is archaeological proof that what we today refer to as the Viking’s (Nordic/Scandinavian settlers) used axes in a pattern similar to this. Hence, the name of the video.
Beautiful job!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice job. I might have used epoxy for the handle swell.
Thanks Gary. Glad you like it.
Nice ash handle with walnut accent 👌
Thanks a lot! 👍🏻
You glued your shim, and you swelled it with about an inch above the bit….You know exactly what you’re doing. 👍

You say that it is Viking style? Yet we have the same thing in Eastern Europe and it’s still available in the shops

You have done awsome job Bro...
But i have one doubts why not you make the iron piece so clear that you can see your face in that... 🙏
Thank you! I preferred a more authentic look on this axe, because it’s going to get a lot of use! Maybe in the future though a mirror finish…
Wyglada spoko jak w użytku ?
