Viking Axe Blade Engraving

- I engraved a viking-style decoration on my axe head using the electrolytic etching process!
The main symbol is the Vegvisir, also known as the viking compass, it is an Icelandic magical stave intended to help the bearer find their way through rough weather.
Arround the Vegvisir i wrote "MORNINGWOOD" using celtic runic alphabet.
Sadly i had to cut out Odin's face from the design... Maybe i will add it in the future!

Il disegno originale lo hai fatto te o lo hai preso da qualche parte ???
È un classico Vegvisir, la bussola celtica, le rune attorno riportano la scritta "MORNINGWOOD", il tutto decorato da un tipico motivo celtico! In origine era previsto anche mezzo volto di Odino, ma purtroppo la vernice veniva via in modo troppo impreciso... Comunque si, è un disegno mio originale che ha preso ispirazione dall' internet!
what kind of paint did you use for the etching? ? a particolar one or a common one ??
Hi! I've used standard acrilic spray paint, but i have to say that it's not the best one (first attempt :/ ) because it came off in shards, which give an "old-fashioned" rustic style to the pattern, but i really need to find a better one in order to engrave more detailed drawings!
@@morningwoodcrafting5960 I've never done any etching but when i engrave wood with a Dremel i like to use homemade vinyl stencils I cut on my mother's Cricut..
You'd have to ensure a good seal so it doesn't lift during the etch but it might give you crisper edges... great video!

Рисунок на топоре не совсем совершенный. Краску нужно искать более подходящую. Меньше придётся работать гравером. После посадки топора на топорище выступило много клея - топорище было плохо подогнано под место для посадки. После исправления недочётов работу можно будет считать выполненной на более высоком уровне. Успехов вам в совершенствовании мастерства и удачи! 🤝🏻
