In today's video, it was time to continue our rib quest and this time we head to the highly suggested Sonny’s to get some ribs. We have been to Sonny’s many times and have also filmed there. We have never tried their ribs. They have two styles of ribs, the St. Louis style and the Baby Back style. Since we have done a lot of Baby Back, we decided to stick with that. Surprisingly, these were very good! They were a little small and didn’t fall of the bone but the taste was excellent. Alex was pretty surprised when he tried them. They definitely are right there with Cheddar’s ribs. We would get them again. As far as the other food, the sides were all good and the baked sweet potato was cooked perfectly. A stinkin’ good item is their cornbread. It’s always top notch and it’s the sweet kind. We were glad we did a rib review here and and if you are looking for some tasty ribs, try Sonny’s BBQ!
Stay tuned for another video coming soon. Thanks so much for watching! God Bless!!!

Love this rib quest. When all is said and done, do a ranking list. That would be great!
Will do! Thank you!
Definitely do go to 4 Rivers BBQ in Longwood. The Beef Brisket is off the charts great 👍 I miss Sonny's BBQ. I grew up in Homestead,FL in the 80's with Sonny's Baby Backs with BBQ beans and Sweet corn bread 😋no more being in Alabama these days
I don’t get the fascination with baby back ribs. St. Louis ribs are larger, and meatier. I always get those at Sonny’s, because you can get those with just the dry rub, no sauce, which isn’t an option for their baby backs.
Btw, Publix deli ribs are on sale this week until the 5th for $10.99 / half rack!
Love the reviews. We just moved here 7 months ago. Still learning the food scene. My Rib choice is 4 Rivers.
When I moved to Florida 13 years ago from Iowa, I remember seeing Sonys and Bono’s all around. I first thought it used to be one place.
Sony Bono’s, at once but learned I was wrong lol
Hey crew. I am a baby back eater. Sonny's and Oakwood have been consistently good but, the ribs at Sully's towards Leesburg are TOP notch. Give them a go
I'll second both Mission BBQ and 4Rivers! Mission is in 21 states, so it's a somewhat large chain, but they have some of the best ribs.
You can't go wrong with 4Rivers, either. You could do the Daytona One location since you mentioned wanting to do a deeper dive there.
Another good one to check out is City BBQ. They're relatively new to central florida, but have locations in 11 states. They also have really good ribs.
Hi guys! If you haven’t already, give Cherry Pocket Steak N Seafood a try. Located in Lake Whales on a fishing camp. If you do go, give their cherry salad dressing a try…very tasty and one of a kind. Love your videos!!
Can't beat Sonny's! Our favorite BBQ.
Try the ribs at Mission BBQ
Will do! Thanks!
Love the wife's shirt. My parents used to live in Beverly Hills, FL
Oh thanks! Oh yes, we have been through there a few times!
@thealtemlife Not far from the Front Porch.
When you get to the non chains and want the best bbq in Florida, make a weekend trip out to Miramar Beach and try Evie Mae’s.
I like 4R BBQ you should try there. Sonny's is not bad but 4R is better. I enjoy watching your channel.
Give 4 Rivers st Louis ribs a try at Longwood...😊
what about mcribs.. lol 😂😂😂. if you sing.. I WANT MY BABY BACK.. BABY BACK..BABY BACK..I WANT MY BABY BACK..LOL at apple bees
I like Sonny’s baked beans the best of any I’ve had here in Central FL.
They are good!
Mannys Haines City on US 27
Seeing that you’re in FLorida, try reviewing Manny’s Chop House in Winter Haven, Haines City and Lake Alfred.
Jim ‘N Nicks is a good place to try.
Just ate there last week while on vacay. Get the 3 meat deal and you get more ribs.
Never seen anyone eat ribs like that before 😂
Okay!
You are the only person I’ve ever seen eat ribs with fork & knife! 😂
Best way to do it!
I now need to make ribs for dinner lol…
Everyone as different taste on cornbread. Sweet cornbread to me is like eating cake. The Crackle Barrel as really good cornbread(they put in tiny tiny bit of sugar).
I love Cracker Barrel corn bread. Reminds me of my mom’s.
Bono’s near Jacksonville.
Thanks!
Mission bbq ribs are good and 4 Rivers Ribs are really good.
We will have to add those to list as well! Thanks!
Fat Boys BBQ by silver springs has much better ribs and bbq sauce.
Is Fat Boys a chain?
Research the origin of Fat Boys and Sonny’s. Very few Fat Boys are left now.
The general convention of barbecue enthusiasts and pit-masters, both professional and backyard, is that fall-off-the-bone is overcooked. Generally, we are looking for tenderness, and a bite that pulls clean off the bone, but is not falling off the bone. That being said, there’s an old Latin adage, “De gustibus non disputandum est,” that means “about personal tastes, there can be no dispute.“ Ya like whatcha like! But if you go to an independent barbecue restaurant or a barbecue show, they are gonna aim for something more like you saw there at Sonny’s.
What about smokey bones in kissimmee ????
Was good a few years ago.
Is it still open? We would do that!
@@thealtemlife It looks like you are correct its closed down which is a shame, but i see there is still two locations in orlando open, but not sure how near to your location they are but was always good ribs when i went to the kissimmee location a few years ago.
Did they offer you the all you can eat option? It's $19.99 for all you can eat ribs, but it's the st Louis cut ribs not the baby back ribs.
I don’t get the fascination with baby back ribs. St. Louis ribs are larger, and meatier. I always get those at Sonny’s, because you can get those with just the dry rub, no sauce, which isn’t an option for their baby backs.
