Ugh this just makes me sad as I can remember me and my siblings sitting watching this as small kids and begging our mum to allow us to have our dinner on the sofa so we wouldn't miss it. I would love to re-live my life over again, childhood is such a special time that kids don't have the capacity to appreciate at the time. We only ever appreciate it when it's too late.
In 1989 I was only 10 and I remember briefly watching these shows. Now at 42 I intend to watch as many of these reruns as much as I can find! It's amazing how engaging these old shows are compared to tv nowadays which is just pathetic now. On with searching out. Happier times back then compared to 2021 sigh.
@@wendymichelle3131 so would I and who wouldn't?! They put Neighbours on TV in Los Angeles for a few months in about 1992 but no-one liked it. Also, they apparently had difficulty understanding the accents.
BBC 13:35 and 17:35 everyday, that sounds like andy something, from childrens program, gordon the gopher, days, good to take a walk down memory lane, miss that by gone time, not missing the U.K, i like the warm weather, work-life balance and relaxed life style too, ooo, ooo much :-) The 80's Rules 4 ever BMX cruising, house music, being a kid, lazy days and a more innocent time to be a child, before the restricted and uniformity to the system and loading the weight of the world on such slight shoulders, where simply being a kid, knowing what makes you unique, scrumping, climb a tree, tracking, british bulldog, tig and tag, stuck in the mud, jumpers as goal posts, playing wembley, no pressure, teenage angst, innocent crushes, the whole dating dynamic, stumble and fumble, But know its changed, teenagers are expected to use no stabilizers and be perfect little adults
The writers of LOST should have made this canonical, Charles Widmore grew up on the island but escaped for a few years and started a new life in Australia under the false identity of Jim Robinson.
Funny how they were aimed at adults and family’s. Now it’s all aimed at teenage pretty boys and girls. Grew up in England watching this….ah the memories…who knew at that time, 5 years later we immigrated to Australia. Life is just weird
Everything was such a big fucking deal back then wasn't it.. counting money was causing someone to be "highly stressed" , doing the dishes was a 30 minute experience and the highlight of the day. A wet tea towel ruined an evening. LOL

Its lamb sandwiches for a week, not ham sandwiches. Lamb roasts are a common meal in Australia. We bake the leg of a lamb and when you get a big one, it was sometimes referred to as a side of sheep (as a joke). After a Sunday roast, we often took lamb sandwiches to school for a couple of days till it was gone.
OK I've done a bit of reading and figured out what happened. After Daphne dying and getting suspended for kissing a student, Mike went away for a couple of months. He returned all dark and moody because (it turned out) his girlfriend had been paralysed in a motorbike accident and he blamed himself. Plus his sweetheart Jane was now with Des and Bronwyn was with Henry. He started wearing an ear-ring, so obviously a bad guy! :D If you look at episode 1000 you can see one of his outbursts. :)
:) Mosty it was thanks to the great website called PerfectBlend, a really good source of information. It's funny I haven't really thought about Neighbours much over the last 15 years (I stopped watching around 2000) but I realise that I spent half an hour ever day with these characters for over a decade. That's quite a big thing, and when I watch these clips they really feel like long-lost family! :)
