Watched 5 minutes of this and already I'm completely sucked in and invested. I wish there was an archive of all the episodes from back then becasue I'd literally start watching it from the beginning!
Brenda Roseblade I agree. It seems there was a certain cosy ness to it that isn’t present anymore. I think because of the music used and the setting was very comfy then...
I miss those days when life was so innocent. I'd come home from school and watch the afternoon teatime Neighbours episode. It would be a daily event. I was happy then.
Very true. We used to sneak the 1:30pm episode in our computer lab at school as it had an old portable TV used as a monitor. Neighbours, VHS tapes, and Amiga games were life back then. There was something about the time between 1988 and 1994 which was just golden for films, TV, and video games.
Agreed completely here, although I never lived that kinda life depicted on the show. It sure would've been something that everyone would've liked to aspire to back then. Sometime I really wonder within a span of 34 years back then to life as now if it's really any better now or if back then it was really as good as it was going to get back then?! I have my doubts here especially with the state our country/world is now including the pandemic here! All I ever wanted was to live this Australian way of life but I fear I never ever will. The price of progress/globalism has damned us more than ever now I think?! I was partial to E Street as well sigh....
I hope one of the UK or Oz channels can re run Neighbours. We are talking close to 10,000 episodes can you believe. It was all so nice and wholesome to watch back then
Loved Madge in this episode...in fact this was a really well written episode with good acting. When I was younger watching Neighbours I found the original Lucy really annoying but watching it back now I can see that she wasn't actually a bad little actress and played that character quite well..she was definitely the best Lucy. It would have been nice to see her grow up on the show and still be around now with her own family. The original Robinson family were great.
Same I didn't like the original Lucy! She seems fine! We sure did get our fair share of 'Lucy's' as the years went by, shame. Not sure how they got away with it lol
Australians are all originally from England and immigrated decades ago to get away from the cold UK, the Australians have the same mentality and brought thier English behaviour to Australia with them .
Used to watch the television series neighbours first whilst at Polytechnic in Coventry in 1988 as I remember. Lived in a shared house with other students then in Earlsdon. Great times.
1979 for the Sullivans and 1985 for the Henderson Kids. Kylie’s first acting job was therefore 1979 - within 10 years she’d be one of the biggest pop stars on the planet and 30+ years later one of the most successful female artists ever… pretty amazing for those of us who grew up on this Kylie, the one in the Henderson Kids or Neighbours.
I never understood what Shane’s job is. He was an Olympic diver in the early episodes when daphne was a stripper and I’d always dressed like he’s on his way to work, but he’s always home.
The original Lucy! Loving watching some of these old episodes. I managed 2 minutes of a new episode (first episode in 20+yrs). Karl and Susan were in it who I recognised, but they just did not seem to have any chemistry despite the time they have worked together. I know it's all social distancing etc now, but still looked all false.

You cqnwtch it from the beginning. I would tell you how if I needed to. Lol.
I watched it avidly when it first came out, but haven’t seen it for many years. The old cast were the best.

Thanks for the memories 2022 i am watching neighbours when it was good ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Stuart life was so different in those days!

Yes n me life is OK now but things were more carefree that and home & away the whole family loved it

That mullet on Shane was epic.

Kylie should take a trip down memory lane. Come back Kylie!!!w
Well your wish came true at the cost of the show congratulations 🤣🤣

I have to admit that I preferred Sasha Close portraying Lucy Robinson than Kylie Flinker
Kayleigh Natasha Sasha close was the best Lucy!
My queen was such a doll baby back then
Oh my gosh the mullets!

17:35 neighbours bbc1. Switch over at 18:00
to ITV for home and away .....then I had to do my homework
A very young Guy Pearce. Wonderful actor.
Used to watch the television series neighbours first whilst at Polytechnic in Coventry in 1988 as I remember. Lived in a shared house with other students then in Earlsdon. Great times.
Michael Pen they got rid of the old polytechnics didn't they in the 1990s!
You can see an even younger Kylie in The Henderson Kids and her first acting role in The Sullivans going back to 1976
MyFAiRyKING I loved the Henderson Kids..it also had Annie Jones, Stefan Dennis and other Neighbours stars.
She was adorable in The Sullivans 😍

@@MarthaMansbridge It appears that the NSFA are incorrect with their year of 1976, so 1979 would indeed be here first acting role.

Good Time all beuatiful super super wow vere Nice filme toot day ❤️🙌❤️🙌❤️🙌❤️🙌❤️🙌 super toot actor

So Australians are basically like Brits living in hot climate :D
And their washing machines aren't in the kitchen.
Majority of Caucasians living in Australia are from England, Ireland, Scotland .
Oh wow!! Baby bouncer..... I knew it was bouncer I simply didn’t think of him as the same dog as the big one later lol
Childhood memories.
All this episode was missing was Jane and Mrs Mangle 😂 oh the days. 17:35 every weeknight on BBC1 😂
We had BBC NI and they screened it at 6:30 until the 90's...I could never get used to it being on at 5:30. It just never felt right to me.
she was 18 years old!
Excellent clip! It appears to be unique as I haven't seen this footage elsewhere! Thank you!
akerbie You're welcome!
Wall to wall mullets. Lol
And perms
1986, Grange Hill was also at its peak then.
love kylie in this 😆
me too
Ha ha love it when Mike tries and makes a run for it when Des stops him
KYYLIIIIE 💖
Naomi Dennis I like her let's get to it album and rhythm of love the best.
Bouncer the dog will save all here.
You and me both
Bouncer 😍😍😍😍
Des was such a wet mop
Feels like every Aussie pop star had a run on this show before they got big.
They were made into pop stars based on their popularity from the show. It was all very manufactured.
This and Home and Away
@@nebularain3338 Oh definitely not denying that but with one exception though. Delta Goodrem was more music artist who acted than the other way round.
she's so cute here
And none of them ever seem to do any f**king work
😂😂😂
Maybe Mike should have asked Jim first about Lucy getting a dog. Jim might not wanted a dog in his house!
Would like to have seen kylie in concert last summer at the Eden Project in Cornwall. maybe some other time. Thanks for the memories.
The hair! Geeezus. LOL.

It always was a load of bollocks
OMG Kylie is like 12!!!! :)
Lol
he needs to manage his own battles !
wow henry's character sure had a personality transplant somewhere along the way :)
I remember his Fast Forward satire deplication of him via "Dumb Street"!!! Absolute riot heh.
@@TheAxelay what was that?
@@TF80s Fast Forward was a comedy satire show in the 1980's which poked fun at mainstream television shows such as Neighbors among other etc.
She looked awful
