@@LotsaFreshAirabsolutely…..it really is a close to creation as you can get , for me that is….beautiful video….counting the days now, until I am out there….
Yes, I concur with the last poster. Great seeing a longer video adventure. Would love to see an additional short video where you discuss gear considerations and why you chose certain pieces of kit. And maybe some of the challenges afterwards. Thanks for uploading!
Tassie is definitely on the bucket list. I'm exhausted and my muscles are aching just watching this haha. Great video. Can't wait for Melbourne restrictions to be lifted again so I can get back out there myself.
Such an inspiring hike, thanks so much for putting this together,I now need to add yet another Tassie hike to the ever expanding list,I love your style,I actually got tingles watching this,I really need to get there.
Awesome video! Have always loved your enthusiasm and passion for nature, matches mine 😊 great to see a longer video!! 🙏🏻 such a beautiful track! Tassie is high on my list! Still haven’t been, but live in Melbourne so soon.
Glad you enjoyed it! Doing a longer video is a bit of an experiment as it goes against my training/experience as a professional video producer! But alas, UA-cam and culture is changing everything!
I really enjoyed your movie :) i hiked the SCT from 17 April 2019 - it was WILD. But i think i want to do it again...maybe turn left after Prion Crossing and head for Precipitous Bluff. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it! Alas, as it was a commercially led trip, the 'ultralight' side of me wasn't able to come out and play. If I did it independently, I'd carry very different food (albeit not as tasty as the delicious meals the guide prepared) and my pack would be much lighter.
Thanks for sharing. I posted a photo of me on your fb tonight. One of the muddy areas of the sw track. Our weather wasn’t as good as yours but the weather is part of the trip. I spent nye at little dead mans bay. The guides went and caught abalone. We were all asleep by 9pm. The hike over the iron bounds was tough. I’m 100km carrying a heavy pack. When I got to the top I was blown off my feet by 100km winds. But it was great. Would I go again? There are other hikes to do, but never say never.
I don't mind it. It's tough, well padded and has seen me through lots of trips. Only a few things I'd change... I like hip belt pockets (which it doesn't have) and I find the belt needs tightening every 5km or so. 65 is the biggest pack I own, so it only gets out on long trips of 6 days+.
Huh, never said it was! ;-). The Overland is a great introduction to multiday bushwalking, where the navigation, campsites and track info/interp is not in short supply. It's not hard from a planning point of view and 'toughness' is very relative depending on people's fitness and past experience with multiday/overnight self-sufficiency, in changing weather conditions. There's a whole other world of challenge once you step off-track, do your own planning, research and exploring and add in scrub, ascent/descent and generous dollops of type-2 fun! Woohoo!
@@Zenrising_YTCM_President Oh, wait! Huh. I see what you mean now. I was replying within all the comments (for ALL videos) section and as I'd just posted the video on the Overland Track, I thought your comment was about that. Alas, non! Now I get what you meant. ie. the SOUTH COAST TRACK not Overland. Hmmm, well. In terms of official national park multi-day tracks, I do still feel that the South Coast is one of the most challenging. For clarification, I have added the word 'guided' hikes in to the description, as apart from say, the Western Arthurs (which is only rarely offered by commercial guiding companies), the SCT would be one of the top 3 hardest for commercially guided trips. But yep, when comparing with independent, off-track trips... there's no level to the challenge that can be presented ;-)
Cannot wait to get to Tassie in 2024…..nice easy 28 hour flight …but so worth it..last trip was wild weather……love Tassie..great videos…stay safe
Alas, the 24 hours is worth it.

I'm so excited to see a longer one of your adventures. In melbourne and back in lockdown... dreaming of the outdoors. Have fun!!!
Ah, OK - maybe I should do more longer ones then? Stay strong - all this will pass....
Ditto! I’ve missed your longer vids too Caro 💚 and yeah being back in lockdown sucks.
Thank you for sharing your experience. This is very helpful to me.
Glad it was helpful!

You can check out my packing list over on the blog... it's all there! lotsafreshair.com/2020/07/14/south-coast-track-gear-list/
Great hike coming off the Davey, the volunteers at the Mellaluca and Cockle creek were amazing.
Ah, Davey. I hope to get back one day for that... just because I like mud ;-)

You got this!
What a joy to watch, the next best thing to being able to actually get down to Tassie!
You've just made my day Seana!
Wonderful video bringing back the intense memories of that slog down the Ironbounds. Thanks Caro!
Ha! And what a slog it is. Diabolical.

Naw, thanks Scott. Glad you liked it.
Would love to hike this trail soon ☺️
It's an astounding place for sure.
Interesting place Caro, never seen any scenery in Tasmania, really stunning all that fresh air.
Tasmania is truly an incredible place - for so many reasons.

Track Tasmania, amazing
It is amazing, yes.
Thank you! This is how I get my hiking fix during lockdown. I want to do this track again.
I noticed that you didn't show any leeches... 😂
Yeah, nah. I don't remember getting any... even though the mud and conditions seem prime leech territory.

this is a amazing adventure glad to you greetings from turkey :)))
Thank you very much!
Great video, well done completing this challengingly beautiful track.

That's quite the experience! Abalone... amazing way to spend NYE!
Awesome trip - glad it was you and not me walking through all the mud though :P
Ah... like a wonky beauty mud treatment!
How do U find the cascade 65?

Hi,
Just subscribed to your channel. Enjoyed watching it :)
Thanks for subbing!
Thank you for a great video. Did you see any evidence of Thylacine on that trip ?
Ha! If only! That would certainly make a great video.
Looks so beautiful. Not sure about having wet feet so much of the time, though.
It's handy to toughen your feet up first and you do get used to it... oh and HOW GOOD does it feel to put on dry socks at the end of the day. So good.
Here I am in lockdown watching hiking videos, do you think I miss it?
Ummmm... Yes! Hopefully, my channel brings some of happy moments and helps you plan for when we can adventure again!
Great video. Though this track definitely isn't one of Aussie's toughest.
