So fascinating. You have been doing one video after another of amazing things I had never known about, despite a very long interest in anything Roman. Thank you.
Pula is a very cool city, there's also the ruins of a theater behind the Venetian fort, was a very cool place to visit when I i passed through Croatia years ago
Imperium Romanum was truly ahead of its time. They had large concrete buildings - baths, amphitheaters, and other advanced and functional structures like aqueducts and roads. When the rest of Europe lived in woods in simple huts.
That's so cool! I've visited the Flavian Amphitheater in Rome and it just blows me away how well made it was to last this long. To me it always felt like the Romans built things to last, because they never thought that they would not be here one day. Incredible.
Dr Ryan I love this on-site news reporter style of commentation. Not sure if you've seen the meme of how men think about the roman empire often, but your channels are the reason why I do. Keep up the good work
man if you took the outer ring of pula and added it to the amphitheater or Verona, I'd get hard...speaking of which, why the hell hasn't Verona fixed that yet? They're the only ones in the entire empire that even have that chance anymore...no idea what they're sitting on
There seems to be an amphitheatre in every major Roman city of the empire... Did Constantinople have one? Constantine didn't have one built? Had gladiatorial games already been outlawed by the Christian emperor's post Constantine? Did Constantinople just have the circus maximus as the main entertainment venue?
I love your recent "travel" videos. But, they've given me a new reason to dislike the dark/middle ages, which was already my least favorite period. They really destroyed so much that the Romans built. Boo!
Thank you. Brings back fond memories from when I visited that place around 40 years ago as a kid.
We were here many years ago. Simply amazing to go in and see it! You can almost hear the sounds of the past history! Well worth visiting!
Over time I have come to learn that Croativa really has an impressive amount of old Roman structures.

Nice to see a different amphitheatre featured from the Flavian, which steals the spotlight from every other.

It is amazing how well that amphitheater has survived. Thanks.

Simply fascinating! I have watched and loved so many of Dr. Ryan’s videos that I feel like I should get course credit in “architecture of antiquity.”
Great episode! Shocking how well preserved this building is. Very well presented.
Oh, yeah. The very first Roman monumental building I've ever seen. Hundreds since, but this one left an impression on the app. 15yo me.
Fantastic. Love your new book.
15 entrances! I wonder what admission was like. I mean, were there security checks?
Great shots. Thanks.
Your vids always brighten up my day!
I’m in pula now!
We were there last September, beautifully preserved.

Nice, nice.

You could be the next Rick Steves.
Love the vids
Those venetians man...
Arles France has a well persevered Amphitheater.
Arles, Arlete Romano, città molto importante della Gallia Romana, Roma il più grandioso e glorioso Impero della storia; AVE CAESAR 💪
I'd go with Nîmes.

Someone has some reading to do, or videos to watch, or LMGTFY...

Sorry Garrett, I think Nimes is better.
