  • Paul finds an abandoned Rolls Royce Silver Spirit that's been left sitting out in the British weather for years. If it could sing a song it might go like this..
Save me, save me, save me. I can't face this life alone.. Save me save me save me, I'm naked and I'm far from home...

RR are my first passion. Had an 87 Spirit for years. Nothing like them on the road. As long as there is no water damage inside the rest can be sorted. Very much worth the time and effort. Love it...

Getting this sorted and running would make great UA-cam-content!
It could possibly even lessen the fear people have for these cars.

Definitely deserves a second chance. You'd do it proud. Would be a tight squeeze in the garage I'd imagine.

Definitely worth saving and not to expensive at that. It's probably just shocks at the back or if it's early gas suspension. A fab car far better than anything new and far far far better than crap mercs or bms.

Looking at the MOT details, for a competent home mechanic all doable, but for a non-competent a large bill I'd guess.

Re the mot fail, None of that is all that difficult or expensive to repair if done by oneself. If it has rust that is a deal breaker

If its the gas springs that have failed, they are not too expensive, so I doubt it was abandoned just for that.

If not any rust or rot and dry inside its worth saving would sell quite quick if done right

If anyone could get it back to it’s best in their own garage it’s you Paul, although from the MOT failure list it’s going to cost a few bob! Check out “my mate vince” he has been restoring one in his dad’s back garden…….

@@life_on_cars it’s a real shame but repair cost at a garage are far more than the cars worth unfortunately

Probably supplied by Smac at Southend Essex judging by the number plate, the suspension gaters have given up the ghost & need replacing, that will sort out the suspension, the brakes will also be affected, providing its a runner it’s well worth buying at the right price, there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of body repair, probably a good valet would bring it back to decent spec.

As lovely as it looks it will ruin most people financially.
And the choice of tyres is a possible indicator of how the owner maintained the car - on the cheap!
And Crewe is definitely NOT in the Midlands

Not at all no more than a crap new euro box. I own a shadow and the ridiculous myth of very expensive is seriously stupid

As long as you can source the parts and onlybspend sensible money and if the bodywork is ok the I would say do it if you can get hold of it. That paint work would buff up with all your solvents and stuff.

Great save with that car, I'm enjoying watching its progress. Can you say what the back story is and how it came to be parked up for 4+ years? (I'm guessing COVID had something to do with it).

You may get it running but there could be 20k of work needed to make it roadworthy. Very very expensive - endless things that may need doing. Nice colour though.

One of my paternal second female cousins is C.F.O of Jaguar NZ 😊
It breaks my heart ❤ the neglect of such a high profile car 🚗 💔
Yes, please raise the matter with the owner.
Curious about what might be going on in the boot 👢
Best to check with the Constabulary as to whether its a car of interest 😮 and maybe a car verticle ❤
