10:32 You know, the dark hexes in the "fog of war" shows you where impassable terrain is. So it was obvious even before using the reveal item, that you wouldn't be able to reach the tower thing.
Splatty i got to say man, respect , you are a hard working dude you upload everyday , you stream almost everyday you got your flaws but none can deny how hard you work, respect
The art is looks really really good, it makes a good anchor for the mechanics that if not original look interesting enough in their own style. Good one Splatt'
I was certain it was from Faeria's dev with these first encounter sheeps and visual style/palette. this is definitely strongly inspired tho it as almost all the same Icons and UI and some ot the same cards graphic.
It is. The wanderbots he mentioned magic the gathering and that card game with the land mentioned they both worked on this game thats why the art and making new land comes up.
@@SoulWhite For me it failed because single player AI was so terrible that there was virtually no challenge at all and it was just boring playing waiting for the challenge to build and it never did.

Richard Garfield is THE creator of Magic: The Gathering. Roguebook is designed by Abrakam, the creators of Faeria. Richard Garfield was involved in some of the design process.
So on the one hand i really like the combat machanics, the art style. On the otherside i am unsure on how i feel about the map style, likely watch a bit more before i decide.
Is no one talking about the huge variety that the dual hero system generates? There would be 10 possible combinations out of 5 heroes. I wish they made ordering matter though, just like Monster Train did
I feel like every "indie" game coming out is a roguelike-deck-building game nowadays... Can't wait when they figure how to add survival-sandbox to the style
the item you bought only works for cards with a specific keyword "Melee" of which you had absolutely zero. That was a huge was of your gold, and it crippled you for the boss battles. Should have picked some damage cards, or visited an alchemist
You dont want to remove all of sharra's defends unless you have a bunch of her Charge cards, because she does 3 more damage with each attack ONLY IF shes in front, so you have no way to get her in front without defend except for her one lunge card.
Guys! *Can I ask for the name of a game* that I believe SplatterCat played in the past? It's a pixelated apocalypse terraria-like game with guns (or magic wand, I don't remember). I want to get back to that game but It's hard to find it... I believe the ground slowly being corrupted by something... EDIT : Nvm... I found it. It's called *It Lurks Below*
GOD I hope this game has less stupidly random stuff than STS does. STS had stuff like Hearthstone does, where it's just like "lol you get a completely random thing, could be useless, could be great!". The fact that it's a MTG designer makes me think it won't. Also yeah, STS was butt ugly, this is gorgeous.
Some folk like some RNG in their Rougelike/lite, It makes runs not always the same one you get to a certain very high level! Slay The Spire's gameplay mechanics are all but universallly applauded. Well for single player deck builder that is. I've heard of several, disillusioned vets of Gwent and Hearthstone that now play Slay The Spire. Well it surely must be doing something right! Just saying!
I'm so glad the devs didn't copy the ugly arrow for showing a card's target from slay the spire. It's the one UI element that all the Slay the Spire likes seem to use and I have no idea why.
The heal tiles don't even heal you fully? Also, RNG done in the worst possible ways. Damn...This game was frustrating to watch, I can't imagine enjoying actually playing.
Man, slay the spire has done some real damage. IN MY OPINION many of these games pushing deckbuilding would just be better with traditional turn based combat.
Put it on my wishlist! Been meaning to check out slay the spire, but I just can't get over how unattractive it looks. Especially the lack of animations kills it for me.
STS has its charms once you get to play it. It's Gameplay trumps most graphically impressive games anyhows! Card games generally are meant to be about gameplay.
On the surface, sure, but some of them stand out and do turn out to be different, just dont think about slay the Spire or any other deck builders, cause no shit they'd look similar, (and some are indeed knockoffs) but you might find a gem or 2
rouge lite games are a category of rouge like games that have some form of perm-progression so after 100 runs you're going to be more powerful than the first run. roguelike games have no perma-progression and every run is down to RNgesus how good it's going to be
Everyone can play the demo right now, due to the steam game festival!

Splat only has one flaw - he doesn't read.
He doesn't stream everyday, his schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.
@@nutbastard Well he DOES read the lore for us - just not instructions how to play better

His only downside in my opinion is : he talks tooooo much...
After seeing you play through countless of games.. you’re still as oblivious to making better choices but that’s splatter I guess
Everytime he strikes with the girl being behind and then puts her in-front loosing 40% damage, a child in Africa dies.
That made me crazy!
I'm excited about this game. HoMM style map, and StS battles? Yes, please!
You might want to look at Arcanium too ;)
@@ewolutiondj Yes, looks promising also! The devs arcanium said that it's also coming to the Switch. Although it won't be until 2022

This almost looks like a digital adaptation of the boardgame Mage Knight.
Would you look what the cat dragged in, to my notifications.
I see what you did there... you ... your good you have a like from me to you lol
thanks for the awesome vids! I enjoy watching and listening to you play. I discover a bunch of cool games through you!

It's weird that Faeria is not popular. The art style on that game is awesome. This is obviously a Faeria 2.0. I kind of like it.
It is. The wanderbots he mentioned magic the gathering and that card game with the land mentioned they both worked on this game thats why the art and making new land comes up.

That looks rly nice. I love this deckbuilding rouge like stuff. And the graphics are nice as well. Added to my wish list
Deck building roguelike? Like the last 3000 deck building roguelikes? Yaaay

Dude i love your reaction when you fuck up something lol
Slay the spire is the definition of having zero art direction. I agree.
It has its charms though!
The downside to these awesome looking demos, is that the full versions are still a ways away. :(
wow, that looks amazing. Seems like the team from Faeria did this. I am very excited :)
That's Slay The Spire if i ever saw it
I haven't watch splattercat in a while and I saw the thumbnail and when I saw deck building game I was like wooooo. Is it like slay the spire?
So this is Slay the Spire’s uncanny cousin?
Wow, this game looks super polished.
Looks and sounds like Faeria, must be some of the same devs, really nice :)
Slay the spire looks amazing. Love the handdrwan style and the grid and despair the game eminates.
You can use the defend cards from both the heroes.. front hero always gets the block.

dead cells
Well, it's this season's gimmick, last season was metroidvaina-likes
Well most indies are either Roguelike or Metroidvanias not so much deckbuilders but its just as well that I love those genres anyway lol 😆
The misplays hurt me deeply and internally, and gave my girlfriend an aneurysm
I feel your pain
I only watched the first 5 mins of the video and i'm downloading the demo.

They have Tahm Kench with Thanos's power gauntlet and poro's?
I love everything about this.
There are a lot of slay the spire knock offs, but this one steals even the art style, like come on
Wait... Isn't the deer Image loading screen the titlescreen from "Faeria"? 🤔
Ya someone from that game help with this one.
@@zerokura It's the same developers.
Finally a challenging game, I'm so sick of those baby games!

This looks great! I honestly have the same problem with slay the spyre so this is gonna cool to check out.
Looks a touch overtuned, but still pretty dope.
You can play Food Chain Magnate online for free. It's a deck-builder that puts ALL OTHER DECK-BUILDERS to abject shame.
How does it put them to shame?
Well, the art is CLEARLY from the guys that made faeria - maybe some are reused? Otherwise they are very, VERY similar.
Let's be honest Garfield's best design was Netrunner
And Bill Murray voiced Garfield in 2004 movie!

I wonder what's so special about this game other than the creator's name...
Well also its design is from Faeria and its mechanics from Slay The Spire. So its a triple win in my book!!
