    Talk about lucky! That could've turned out real bad. You ended up with 6 more inches of shaft than you bargained for

    I did a 06 KX250f fork and triples on my 97 KX 500. Works great. Had a machinist friend of mine make my aluminum steering stop adapter.

    Sounds like it’s time for kx450 front end conversion 🤘 I’d be stoked to watch the process and improvements afterwards.

      Why when yamaha's sss fork is so much better. At that point same process. As the kx 450 frame is nothing like that 500. All balls should sell the conversion bearings for both kx and yz front end swap. A dam near any combination

    Doesn't everyone want more suspension travel?... I think you're onto something here Clint! You should patent it and sell the idea to Race Tech... Also what is a puny 8 paddle doing on that thing... !0 paddle FTW! Dump the clutch in 2nd gear and hold on for one hell of a ride!!!!!!! BANG BANG BA BANG BANG BA BANG BANG BANG!!!!!! BRRRRRRRRAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!

    Never had a problem had about 200 odd hours on a '97 and another 50 plus on an '04 KX500. Bought both bikes new. Both have the 46mm fork though. The new 46mm fork came out on the '97. Still got the '04.
    Can't comment on the older fork but good luck with the work you're doing.

    I also have a 92 kx but mines a 250. Good luck trying to find parts to fix them. Well that aint cheap my friend!

    Reminds of a front shock on a cheap banshee I bought. I’d stop for a rest in the dunes and after a few minutes of sitting there be a “thunk” and the banshee would shake enough to notice. Turns out a front shock was getting stuck compressed and then releasing after sitting. Pretty hilarious once I figured it out.

    Probly didnt have the damper rod threaded into your fork cap the proper distance or correct amount of threads.Another scenario might be the lack of using a torque wrench during Re-assembly causing the nut to back off and let the rod unthread from the fork cap,but at least you didnt get hurt.Hope replacement parts are still available for your Bike.

    KISS. The simplest explanation is obviously sabotage, like in the movies when the bad guys cut the protagonist brake line. Perhaps a rival UA-camr.

    They are visceral!! Like a old muscle car or a dyna. Not the best at anything. But just feel good. I've owned a few cr 500 but never a kx 500. Rode them.. owned kx 250s lol. The ones I rode felt like slinkys compared to the crs. Fast! But wasn't a fan of the suspension
    Yz 450 forks sss all balls should sell conversion bearings

    Question:
    I have a 2003 Honda Crf450r . One of the valves broke, dropped into the cylinder and destroyed the piston, cylinder and crank case. What do I need to to do to bulletproof the motor on these bikes?

    So no chopper forks?

  • @hachtenduro7824
    @hachtenduro7824 Рік тому

    This fork was assambled incorrect. The rods were not threaded into the cap fully. This releases the rebound adjuster fully. (like all clicks out), which explaines the mushy damping. I would do a full service only. and no fork conversion. Imho a revalve by a pro can follow or be done in tje same step.
