Quick and to the point with non-destructive shucking. Thank you.
Really appreciate the vid. I watched a few of these but never picked up on the detail u don't actually slide the pick/credit card underneath/beneath the clips to 'unlatch' them. Instead you simply jam the pick down ON TOP of the clip location UNTIL u meet resistance. Then you simply lever the case open using a flathead screw driver. Up until now I've been trying (and failing) to JAM the pick/credit card behind & up underneath the clips, kinda how you can force a door lock open with a credit card. Wrong. Your vid clearly showed me the proper method. THANKS!
By far your video was the best I've seen on how to shuck these! Thanks a ton!
Thank you!
Literally the best guide on YT on how to open the WD USB enclosure. Please do one for Seagate Expansion if you got one of the current models.
Thank you! Unfortunately I don't have one of the Seagate models at this time.
Excellent video, thank you.
Thank you Sir.
This really helped me out. Thanks for the video.
WOOOOAAH!!! Thats so easy!! I cant believe it! O_Oi just did it with ny new 18tb ones and it just works! No forcing anything, doesnt even leave a mark. Thats FANTASTIC!!!
Merry Christmas to you and your Family!
Thank you! Merry Christmas to you too.
So these drives don't have "special" connectors that must be defeated for ordinary SATA use?
Nope. They plugged right into my NAS.
lol "defeated"
I shucked my 14tb drive and I plugged it via sata and it doesn't show up is disk management. It only shows up if I have the original board that powers and send it via USB plugged in but I've formatted it and tried plugging it back via sata amd nothing any odeas
You are probably already aware....but search "3rd SATA pin and shucking HD" and you will get info on how to bypass this.
