Al-how about making a chicken tractor that fits between the raised beds of your garden so the chicken will keep the walkways weed-free for you? That way, Gina doesn't have to weed eat the walkways (Happy wife-happy life)

I think you should add a lead of some sort above the chime to bring it lower, so it is in view from inside the window. It appears to high to me. Enjoy and thanks for the Videos :)

The old time farmers used to always put a cover like a tarp or board over their Carrots until their heads popped up. It keeps the shallow seeds from drying out until they start growing good. I do it too and always have a great crop.

I have 40 W because it was cheap ( last year's or the year before's model) 12". Got it on eBay with a blower. I thought the blower was silly until I used it. In 5 to 10 minutes walkways and garden areas were cleared out of cut loose material. Saved me 2-3 hours with a broom and a rake. They make 60 W and 90 W devices lots of stuff including a rototiller and snowblower can replace the string head. I love the mower too. I no longer have the endurance/strength to keep pulling a gas starter string and down here gas goes bad fast. A battery mower gives me control of functionality and borrowers (I'm in duplexes). When I got out of the hospital the neighbors said they would do my lawn if they could use the mower on theirs, only my lawn never got done and the mower got destroyed. You have to shelter the equipment more but the useability out weighs any extra effort.

Take the unused sed potatoes and plant them in a stump hole out in the field and watch the differences when harvesting them...... try planting squash and pumpkin on the fresh on touch soil .... just remember 40+ years of leaves making top soil and compose .... excellent for a large crop of pumpkin or water melons to make an income to the homestead ....... hope u try something

Another great idea to plant potatoes is in a five gallon bucket that is cut out in different places. Does this method work for you or have you tried it before? I hope you video the chicks I'm curious how much they have grown. Thanks Al I appreciate you buddy. I really appreciate your wife and daughter as well. Figaro and Pluto are having fun in the sun running around chasing chickens. LOL. Maybe not in this video per se but in past I know. I love to watch them. Thank you for your videos.

Heey AL, you do know you can plant those potatoes closer than that. If you notice with potatoes that they only put out taters about 8" from the plant. So by planting them closer you can get more yield from the same space.

I think raised beds look so nice but it's easier for me to do a big garden with marked beds. Than to build beds and fill them with soil. I have strings of twine marking the beds. My chickens prepared my garden for me last summer and fall. It was mostly lawn. All I had to do this year was mark the beds, loosen the soil, move some mulch around and plant. I'm amazed that the ground wasn't very compact either. My chickens will be expanding my garden again this year....after the babies get bigger.

Gaauud Mawnin Lumnah Acres! Homestead is looking fine in all its late spring glory! A window in the goat barn is an excellent idea so space doesn't feel so confining and you can see the house from the goat barn. Do your chickens all return to New Yolk City at night? I would hate to see foxes and coyotes feasting on those birds, also do you feel they may get 'broody in the brush'? Have a Blessed Day

Now you need a key hole manger. on the side of the divider where the feed is located, separate 2 board on the right and 2 on the left the width of the goat neck and fill the space up to the height of their chest with a board. At the height of their head cut a notch in the board on each side to make a space the width of their ears. This allows them to put their head through into the manger but it is inconvenient to pull the head out with a mouth full of hay and drop it on the floor. build a nice manger on the inside of the divider and feeding will be an easy chore. We fastened a chain beside each Key hole to snap the collar to so that it was easy to take one at a time to the milk stand. Do you have plans for the milk stand?

Why doesn't Olivia eat breakfast? This isn't the first video I've noticed that.

Cereal not healthy unless it’s oatmeal.

Norine Holland instant flavored oatmeal is almost as unhealthy dry cereal.
In moderation fermented oatmeal (with a bit of an activator such as rye or buckwheat) can be healthy, but as a daily thing it's still a bad idea

I do find it humorous that so many people are giving advice about goats jumping over and through things but failed miserably to notice that you are getting dwarf Nigerians. Such a big difference in dwarf than full-sized goats! 🤣 😲 😂 People need to either follow all the videos or keep their opinions to themselves! 😎 Sheesh!🚬 Smoke a cig and relax people! Al's got this covered!!!!

My dear fellow, after seeing yet another video of your wife looking as if she is seriously down in the mouth, is she ever happy?
In 90% of the videos she looks like she's either scowling, upset, or seriously pissed off!
In about 10% of the videos I've seen her smile, and laugh once actually, but the rest of the time?
    What gives?

Im pretty sure our new tuxedo kitten thinks he is part of our dog pack. My boyfriend found him in the middle of our rural road at 8am. We think he fellout of the underside of a vehicle. Mamas like to hide kittens up in the underside of vehicles to keep them safe. He signaled the beginning of kitten season for the animal rescue i work at. He loves to play with the dogs, eat dog food and dog treats like peanut butter and beef jerkey. He even likes people food. Ive never known a cat that likes people food. He has figured out how to come to the door and meow to be let in if he doesnt come inside when the dogs do. He is a funny guy and we adore him. He killed his first wasp yesterday. I hope he becomes a great pest hunter to keep our homestead safe
