I've been doing yoga consistently for ten months and this is the first time I've ever manage to hold pincha mayurasana for about 10 seconds without using a wall. So, thank you so, so much for this practice!
Thanks for the practice, I'm starting my journey to Pinchamayurasana, and will be in it for as long as it takes. Namaste.
Thank you so much for this. You really explain the poses anatomically which is extremely helpful when overcoming what seems incredibly challenging. With just a simple alternate explanation, I was able to get further into this asana than ever before.
SoulloWanderer that's awesome!!!
+SoulloWanderer thank you for writing everything I wanted to say, only you written it better lol :)
Even after 5 years, I still come back to this practice. Thank you Kino 😊🙏
Happy to hear that!!
you are very warm and freindly,Kino. you really want that people can learn.
Gud assan gud practice gud n knowledge full videos
You have such a talent for teaching and breaking down the poses. You are my go to gal for teaching and learning! Thank you for posting and sharing your yoga with us!
I absolutely love that you teach advanced. There is far too much beginner stuff online. Namaste Kino
I've been practising Yoga for 5 years and I have just started to tackle the more advanced Inversions. I wish I had started sooner. This was a great tutorial and I will definitely bring it to the mat on a daily basis. This and the handstand are my 2016 goals.
it's awesome how you explained this pose step by step! extremely helpful!
KimLegozaPhie Keep practicing!
***** Thank u! :) I will!!
Thank you, Kino, for this video! When I saw this video title photo, I thought that it's too difficult for me even to open this video. Anyway I opened this video and I started. My shoulders were tight and my mind had a lot of doubts. I continued, and my shoulders started loosed and the complains disappeared. It was a nice moment and nice feeling! After I finished it,even I could not do the pose, I feel that I have a hope to do this pose someday if I keep on at it! Thank you again! Namaste!
Noriko Whittaker that's awesome! Keep practicing :)
Amazing Kino thank you! I felt my impatience rise then listened to your wise words! ♥️
This was way too advanced for me right now but you've inspired me to practice more often. Can't wait to try this again in 6 months or so 😊🙏✌️❤️
Try it! I'm not forcing you to do it but you can! Instead of waiting years. You never know if You can do it today 😊👍
Thank you Kino so much 🎉🧡
Each of your videos takes my yoga to the next level. Thank you so much....
I love love love this video. This is so helpful Kino! I had looked for tutorials for this before, but this one is great because it helps build the strength in the shoulders first, instead of jumping right into the pose.
Inspiring! And thorough!!!!! Beautiful thank you
Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom.... you are strong!!!
Im practising this pose for few months and I can feel improvements every time. My fear is to not lose the shoulders strengh when I lift the legs...but I hope I will get there in one day🤔 great video , thanks.
Thank you so much for this and all your videos!! I have chronic neck pain and migraines and this is the first time I've ever tried this pose...and got results. I may have a migraine tomorrow and be in pain for days but now I know I've got the strength to continue on with this pose. Thank you again
It took me 8mo of almost daily dedication to pincha before I could get from just flipping myself against my bed, to the wall, to away from the wall, to outside and anywhere else. I dont remember but I'm sure there were several days of frustration. I ended up living in a truck immediately after for 6months, now that I have an apartment I feel like I'm backwards with the pose until last night when I realized I really need to stretch my one foot in the air, and what helps me is allowing my hips to twist abit and then lightly push off the other leg to come up without allowing my body to flip completely over. I think what saved me the trouble of loosing flexability in my shoulders is the fact I did several stretches while living in the truck to help me with my back and shoulders. Fun pose!
Thank you for making me revisit the fundamentals of this posture. I'm just getting back into advanced poses after two years of back to back pregnancies (where balance was not easy!) namaste
It is very helpful that you talk to how long it took you to reach different poses. It helps me keep expectations realistic and allows me to let go of a need to achieve each posture to a level I'm not ready for.
HeavyMetalJess Wonderful! keep practicing :)
Thanks Kino. Especially when you say that could take some years . I find that with some poses.
Lovely practice! Am trying to take it easy with a weak right shoulder but still love to work on building up the strength for this! Thanks for the break down :)
This is geat session... Thank you, Kino, for taking the time and assist us in the progression of the practice..!
You are very inspiring ,I love all of your practices.😘
I followed the class for a few weeks, now I'm really close to doing this fun pose. thanks so much.
This is amazing. I love how you explained everything so thoroughly. Sometimes, I'm doing yoga and I get confused, "What am I doing? Why am I doing this?". Thanks for getting the technical stuff out of the way!
Very well done n explained, thank your
Awesome coaching! Thank you for your easy to follow instructions 🙏
Thanks 😊

Thank you for helping me gaze within. This is very challenging and I LOVE It
thank you so much for this video kino! I didn't think I was strong enough to do this but I tried anyway with no expectation to succeed and I actually did for about 6 or 7 seconds. definitely going to keep doing this exercise
Excelente, mis hombros se estaban quemando ;)...muchas gracias Kino, eres mi mentor. Gracias por tu dedicacion. Veo todos tus videos y aprendo mucho. NAMASTE /\
I've been practicing this pose for a while, and with just a small shoulder adjustment I got up with SO much more lightness. Love your videos, basic or not! :D
Thank you, Kino! I love practicing with you!
Bravo.
An excellent video.Excellent advice.
Thank you Kino! This is an arm balance I'm working on, but I know I really need to build my shoulder strength. At the moment I find it quite scary! Through watching your videos, I am learning to be patient, humble and to let go of the ego (in all aspects). I honestly don't feel in any rush to "achieve" this pose, I trust it will come. Thank you so much for being so honest and teaching more than just the asanas xx
Emma Henry That's so awesome!!! Keep practicing, all is coming :)
Thanks Kino! 🌻👍 Eres una genia! 🔆❤
I am really enjoying this series, thank you so much for taking the time to film them!. I would love to see a class on an easier inversion (maybe tripod headstand?). Thank you!
Love this video Kino! Really challenging but broken down in a manageable way so I didn't get too discouraged. Planning to add this video in to my schedule on at least a weekly basis.
Brilliant practice Kino!! Hard but helpful and kind 😊 If you are doing any vlogs could you possibly include one on recovering from injury and adjusting your practice accordingly? I tore my quadricep tendon pretty badly a little while ago and my head and body are having trouble syncing with one another these days.....I would love to hear how you have managed continuing your practice when you have been injured, and if/how you used yoga as part of your recovery. Also, any practice that isn't knee-heavy (like this one!!) is joyously welcomed.....thank you for all your hard work, you're really inspiring x
Kelly Gough Hope that you heal quickly!
so challenging, but i love it. Gotta keep at it :) Thank you kino!!
Love love love!! I am currently trying to master this pose. I don't have enough strength in my shoulders to do this yet. Thank you for this! 🙏
I've been trying with this pose for a few weeks and suspected my shoulders just weren't flexible enough yet. The first half of this video was perfect for me and I will go through many times to improve my flexibility and ultimately get the pose!
Thank you :D
Awesome! That is the right video I am looking for! I am trying to learn this posture. And your explanation and demo. is so clear! Thanks a lot for sharing! Love you and your video so much! So inspiring!

+Viola Opara Great to hear! Keep practicing :)
You're videos are gorgeous. They help me so much when I practice at home. I have a request. Could you maybe do a full primary series video? Thanks, Maurice.
Thank you so much Kino! I've always struggled so much with this pose and I felt sooo confident today! You're truly an inspiration!
Thank you Kino this is a brilliant video! I never realised how stiff my shoulders were! I have watched quite a few of your videos and I am inspired by your strength and control. Thank you for sharing!

Hi Kino, thank you so much for this video and for sharing your practice! Your videos have been a crucial guide in my yoga journey, particularly in gaining strength in the mind and the body. I was wondering if you had any tips regarding this video/pinchamayurasana in general--as I'm doing this video, I can feel the tendons in my forearm and my lower back getting aggravated. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for your videos and for inspiring my practice and my journey :)
bless you for the helpful video, it helps me grow in my journey to pincha m. :-)
Was literally waiting for your videos!!! Thanks kino. u r jus amazing. hoping to c u in India soon!!:-)
NAMASTE from Argentina!
Really miss doing Yoga with you ,My knees are bad ,but when I get back to it I am starting with this video, my gosh what a relief my back felt, besides its so much fun to learn anatomy like this ( I have exams to give on anatomy lol ) thanks my yoga angel..there is this other site where I used to access your full length videos , but unfortunately , there no way to access that site for me,thats why I said I missed in the beginning of my sentence :)...Stay blessed
that was a fantastic tutorial @kinoyoga thank you x
i really enjoy all your videos and super excited for the basic yoga mix and Sept challenge.... but I'm noticing that my hands keep wanting to turn inwards as soon as I push the weight of my shoulders forward
Thank you for this Kino
Thanks for practicing
@@KinoYoga on day 3 of 30 so far so good 😊
I've been practicing yoga just one year and a half - every day, sometimes up to two hours.
Pinchamayurasana is still a challenge to me to keep balance without a wall. My wall is painted blue😢😣 🤣However it's easier for me to keep balance few seconds in Scorpio asana than regular pinchamayurasana.
Miracle. How these monks are able to keep it? Regards, Namaste, Alice🤩
Hello, Kino! Beautiful and graceful as always! I'm practicing my headstand to forearm transition and would love some tips on that. I'm able to move my hands out of headstand from behind my hand, place them in forearm position and lift, but I always lose balance in pinchamayurasana as soon as I lift. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for sharing all your tips. You have inspired me tremendously!
I think I have a video on lifting the head in headstand... check under Urdhva Sirsasana. In Ashtanga Yoga we don't transition from headstand to Pinchamayurasana, but we do lift the head in Sirsasana.
And keep practicing :)
+KinoYoga great..! Thank you so much..! Have a wonderful day.
You are amazing! Great teacher. Head and armstands are still so difficult for me. I know that my big problem is the fear to be upsidedown. Its a mental block I know and and I can not how to break it. On what inner psychological aspect the head down poses depend on? That feeling of balance can be fascinating for someone and scaring for other? Why and, it is possible to win these fears and standing on my head/arms? Margy from Italy
+MAkeUp588 The antidote to fear is faith :)
Namasté 💓🤸 Colombia mil gracias 😘👍
Thank you so much for these. I always enjoy practicing with your youtube videos. could you maybe do one for backbends ? like a 30mins practice that's focusing on backbends :)
+Grace Wacera Sure! I have a beginner yoga backbend class that's up now. Plus if you do the beginner yoga challenge this month there will be some backbend videos.
Great. Thanks. I will check it out :) I am definitely doing the challenge this month. Not posting anything though, I did it last year as well and I loved it. :)
Thank you ❤
Hi. I like the yoga matt you're using in this video. Where can I can get it.
Thank you for the video, Kino. I'm wondering if those bracelets are distracting at all? Do you wear them when you do your daily practice or just in your videos?
kino i know i need to start yoga because i am going through a part of my life where all i want is peace with myself and i know i yoga will help. I want your advice on where should i start. I am willing to do anything through your videos. i am not flexible at all :/
Thank you! This is what I'm working on right now:) question about where to look- sometimes I see people with a gaze at the thumbs, other times just straight head like headstand. Is there a right or wrong way? It seems a little harder to look forward and I'm not sure why that is.... Thanks again!
Heather Moreau Gaze between the forearms. Looking too much forward creates a spinal arch.
I love yoga I love yogi
thanks a lot for your work ,
can you tell me please how i can reduce pressure on my shoulders during handstand ?
thanks a lot
rgds
Serge
Instead of thinking about reducing pressure on your shoulder, think about learning good handstand technique and strengthening the shoulders. I have a beginner handstand video, have you checked that out?
good video...only thing....if your shoulders are sore the next day DO NOT do it again, your body needs rest to repair and recruit new muscle
please do a full splits video for 30 minutes thx kino , love u
practice splits middle , front splits etc
Kino I really love this video your doing!, you challenge me! so for me you are going good xD
N Wood thanks, keep practicing!
