I'm driving the Car since 2 months in Gernany on the Autobahn and I'm loving it. No speed limit and it does 150 to 155 mph. Needs much attention and preview to drive at that speed, but I am used to it. Sucks the battery though in 2hrs at that speed. Be carefull with white interior : nice in the first year but easy to catch stain and not looking so nice after 2 years or more. But saying in the video it charges at 350 kw per hour just because you plug it to a 350 kw charger is simply wrong. We have also plenty 350kw chargers here in Germany but the car takes max. 240 kw and not more. The 800 volt battery technology simply does not allow more than 270kw like Porsche Taycan shows. This is why Porsche currently works on new 1000 volt technology on the battery. Don't get me wrong, this 240 kw is extremly good compared to most others. But at the end I fully agree with you, beautiful car with good technology and nice driving experience at competitive price (here in Germany it is even higher than in the US. I paid 84000 Euro which is 94000 USD) But an equally equipped Mercedes, Audi or BMW costs 20000 bucks more.
Talking about no longer cheap brand... just drive behind one of those Genesis SUV's on the highway and check what the bottom of the rear bumper is doing!😎
Will this be your Gjeeb-V-70? Great review, I’m loving what Hyundai/Kia/Genesis are doing. BTW the guy who designed Bentleys actually designed that GV70. You were spot on. Keep up the great vids. Andy in the UK 🇬🇧
Saw this model selling for $90k with added market value and dealership BS add ons but for sticker price $74k its a good value with all this luxury. Recently saw a Lucid Air Dream review and owner said the Electrify America 350 charger barely gets to 200 max charge speed on his Lucid which also can accept 350 charge speed. I would just be happy you found a working EA charger. lol
In the market soon for an ev suv and this looks really nice. My main concern aside from lack of supercharger access is the interior space. Take 16:51 in the video for example - you look really tightly crammed in there with very little room around your legs and left shoulder.
I drove a GV70 Prestige ICE, and it was incredible value for money, luxurious, fun to drive, etc. I drive a 2019 Audi e-tron now. If I could afford this, I’d get it. Down sides you wouldn’t notice unless you drive this for long: 1. That lack of wireless CarPlay - it is available on cheaper Hyundai and Kia models with narrower screens, but even when wired, its laggy. 2. It doesn’t remember your settings such as iPedal settings, driving mode etc, unless you stopped in Eco or Smart driving mode. This is really annoying although hardly a deal breaker. 3. While the seats do grip you when you drive on winding roads, the side bolsters are not adjustable enough in other modes. Other than that, this is an insanely good car (including for the money). The luxury is amazing. Nothing short of $100k comes even close.
I was going to get the GV60 but went with the GV70 for a few reasons. Better interior materials, rear wiper, and Highway Driving Assist (HDA II) vs HDA I. I also prefer 20" wheels and the GV60 Performance comes with 21" wheels. I'd would have been happy with either though.
Very nice and luxurious, and if I was new to the EV life I would totally be sold. But after driving a Tesla I hate all the buttons on other cars. When I drive my husband's Palisade I'm like "OMG, i hate all these damn buttons." It also doesn't appear to have the same space in the sub trunk as the MY. Lastly, my children and I love the big "tv" screen that allows us to watch movies and play games. I don't like the small screens on the other cars. Otherwise a great vehicle and intense competition for Tesla.
Never saw you quite this enthusiastic about any vehicle. I'll be anxious to see how the GV 70 compares to the Porsche Macan EV when it becomes available either later this year or early next year. One thing is certain, the GV 70 will be the less expensive of the two.
Does the sat navigation only show that 2d top down view? I only like the 3d forward views and this could be a deal breaker for me. We've done a test drive but didnt get to try that out
Hello, can you please make a video about tesla spare! I just got flat tire yesterday , it was around 7pm here in Hollywood Florida, call tesla, they don’t provide spare anymore like they did before, so the only option at that time was to tow it to tesla service, now if tire is fixable they charge $110 plus tax if not fixable which I am sure 90% they will charge you $495+ tax! So I had to Jack my Tesla Y take my tire out and take it to 24 hour tire shop, after they put some garbage tire that fit my 19” rim I drove it back to my Tesla Y and put it together, cost me $70 at 10:30pm. Which I consider not bad, early in the morning went and purchased used tire for $70 continental original, great condition and put it on! Total combine spend $140! Still not bad considering taking Uber from tesla service home and back to them in the morning plus $495 per tire! If you can tell my story and experience I would appreciate it, maybe many other people will consider to purchase spare to save money when bad moment comes! Thank you!
Genesis and hyundai need to stop putting wired carplay on anything with bigger than an 8 inch screen. I heard that it’s because their larger screens come with built in nav and wired carplay makes people more likely to use their built in nav.
I think you mixed some numbers up on charging. “Rapid charging”, level 2, is generally in the 7-11kW range. 50kW is the low end of DCFC, “level 3”. You used “rapid charging” for both levels 2 & 3.
Thanks Gjeebs, based on your video, I just sold all of my Tesla stock, Hyundai (Genesis) now has a better EV than the Model Y. I can now picture Elon being a homeless person. I knew this would happen sooner than later.
The problem with other electric car maker is that they can't match the production speed with Tesla. Lots people are buying Tesla because they don't want to wait one to three years for a car
$70k and you have to deal with Hyundai dealership experience. No thanks. Those folks are used to selling $15k econoboxes. Was in the market for a Kia stinger, and even at $56k at the time, I dodged a bullet. Terrible dealership with terrible customer service.
I bought a GV70 EV and I don't have to deal with dealerships at all. They pick up your car and leave a loaner. Seem like the best of all worlds. Oh, and what exactly does servicing an EV entail? Changing the cabin air filter every couple of years and the coolant at 10 years.
I bought a GV 70 Electrified and this vehicle had a malfunction after 3 days of ownership. The malfunction was due to a rear inverter failing and the rear motor failing, where-as the mechanic discovered burnt residue within the motor. After replacing said parts, they decided to test drive the vehicle for 131 miles, without notifying me or requesting authorization. This increased my odometer by 36%. Every step of the way was a complete hassle. The Genesis of America service advisor (Khoi) claims he has no idea about the requirements to fix this vehicle and claims he did not know about the road test, yet when calling the service advisor, she claims that she told him before Khoi called me. I believe this company is trying to hide this issue on the first iteration of this car because it will be costly to initiate a recall which will skew their earnings on this specific vehicle. I would recommend that no one buys their electric vehicles as their Hyundai Ioniq 5 is equally as terrible as a vehicle. The Ioniq 5 driving assistant tool over powers the steering wheel while in use. This same vehicle also has the collision assistance that would notify the driver while the vehicle is completely stopped at a light and another car moves in an adjacent lane.
@@Jawwwn Depends on how it’s being used on a daily basis. My car is strictly home charged and I use the ICE for road trips. I wouldn’t own an EV as an only vehicle.

Wait a minute. Are you saying the GV70 is not a good road trip car? Why would I buy it only to drive around town, and have to also buy a Tesla for road trips? Doesn't KIA have a vast supercharging network of its own? Screw it!. Next you are going to tell me that there are no weekly OTA updates to constantly make the car better. You did not show us the generous sized frunk, so I can only assume there is none. Only 250 mile range on a $75k EV, WTF? That's okay as long as I get FSD as well. What, no FSD? Kia ev6, Hyundai ionic 5, also get great reviews, I believe also based on same platform of this,
Same battery and motors but a different platform. GV70 is not E-GMP like the others you mention.
These cars have a maximum charging speed of approximately 240kw when the battery is pre-conditioned.
