Love my hammer on the hogs as well! Used it the past 2 years! Runs great with the blackout mags! That looks like a pretty short barrel for that ammo though.
Just make sure he uses the black rifle arms improved firing pin for that 7.62x39. That’s the major thing I’ve found while running that caliber that makes all the difference in reliability.
Looks like a decent round. I still don't know how you make your hogs stop running once you start shooting. It's almost like they are impressed as we are, and want to stop and watch. Last hogs i shot in to are still running. And that was months ago!!!!
You said the Hammer was all carbon fiber. I'm not familiar with anything carbon fiber on an AR platform. I'm sure it helps with weight, but anything having to do with the sound/vibration? Thoughts on the carbon fiber besides looks?
@@LoneStarBoars I know the whole thing isn't carbon fiber. Was just wondering if it makes that big of a difference in weight or if it is just for the aesthetics.
@@LoneStarBoars I get why a fella could say that. There are several plusses for me in the HAM'R, but if cheap BiMetal HP ammo supply would hold out I'd be fine shooting commiex39 out of my Mutants for the rest of my life. Unfortunately I'd bet $ that sniffy Joe and his puppeteers will be choking affordable import ammo off from those dang meddling Russians. "For the children"
@@LoneStarBoars I'll use them too. I still have a case of Tula and a partial case of Baurnal that I was a little underwhelmed with. They're what I started with after you sold me on the mutant. It seemed HP fragmented better on adults and the SP just stripped the jacket and yawed a bit. It could have been anecdotal with a small sample size. Either way I'm not afraid to use SP or HP x39 ammo on hogs as long as Joe Snuggles allows my peasant ass to keep buying it at $0.30 The only reason I stumbled on 300HAM'R was that I could load good performing projectiles in factory new brass for less than commercial Russian SP/HP ammo was moving off the shelves for. I do very much like the down range sound signature of the HAM'R though. I cant count the number of coyotes and pigs who've run straight to me or stuck around after I let a couple shots fly. Loaners and group. It occasionally happened before but it seems to happen pretty regularly since I've been shooting HAM'R.
@@LoneStarBoars Excellent, that’s what I was thinking, thanks for your expert advice, most appreciated sir. Keep up the great up loads that you bring us.....thanks.
Quick question in pa it is unlawful to hunt deer with a .22lr because it is considered inhuman but you can drop a doe at 100 if you crack her in the head everything is about shot placement I was just woundering if there is any limit on piggies cuz I think I’ve seen hunts where dudes where using 223 to hunt for these pigs which is offly light ?
Actually, .300 HAM'R is more powerful than 7.62x39 but it works in an AR platform. .300 blackout isn't even in the same ballpark other than using a .30 caliber bullet.
@@LoneStarBoars yeah I hear ya, I really think HAM'R is the next big thing, or rather it will be once more manufacturers catch on. I also think the round would be perfect in military applications as well.
Did you hear that loonnggg squealer!? Was it one of first shot or one of the three charging towards you? Hearing that makes the viewing experience premium entertainment. That ammo made great impact sounds. These feral mofo's looked very well fed. Am I right? You gotta contact Netflix. Love binge watching this.
Whenever I see a hefty hog hit the ground I think about having to lift that fella up onto a truck bed. How long does it take you to collect all of that bacon? Do you have a dog food processing plant that will take em? Or do you just let nature take care of them?
Hey Todd, I think you need a better rifle; lots of runaway pigs in this one. Pigs are tough and looks like 300 Blackout just does not do the job. Anyway, it was nice to see you back dropping pigs.
Save the brass.. I need it. Getting easier to find at least. Starline makes brass now. Any one use powder other than CFE Black? Be nice to know. Keep shooting fellas!! 👍👍
This proves to me the 300 hammer is no better than the 300 black out. The smallest caliber I’ll shoot pigs with is a 762x39. I’ve shot multiple pigs with the 300bo and they get up and run off. With the 39 or 308 they go 20yards tops
Wonder if part of that is bullets when comparing x39 to the hamr. The lighter .308 bullets available aren't up to the toughness and penetration needed while the steel jacket sp/hp of the x39 is? Pretty sure the hamr can push 1-200 faster than the x39.
@@randomidiot8142 I hand load the 39 i run 123 grn sst. i think the reason why there is such a difference is the .30 cal projectiles can be loaded from 300 black out to 300 win mag, so there are some universal jacketing and expasion used versus specific measurements and engineering. the .310 sst is designed for the 39 and they have specifically designed that bullet for that round. my shots are 40yards and in so when i hit them i want them to go down. i will run the .308 now exclusively unless i have a guest then they run that rifle while i run back up eith the 39
@@ethonbell5181 yep. Like the Barnes 110 .308 bullets. One is designed for ridiculous impact velocity and one is designed for BO velocity. Switch them around and you get fragmenting bullets and bullets that don't/can't expand. Some bullet makers generalize slightly and design for a generic impact velocity window (ex 1800-2800 fps) and it's up to you to choose for your intended purpose. I know nosler and sierra simultaneously generalize and then deviate from generalizations though. Like the 'nosler ballistic tip' has varmint and game versions in the same weight/caliber with no outward change in appearance but they behave differently at the same speeds. A 123 .310/.311 nosler partition or accubond would be badass though..
So good to see you back out there doing what we love watching you do!
My favorite caliber. Has a very favorable sound signature and suppresses extremely well.

One of my favorite rounds behind the 6.8 and 7.62x39 and ammo is readily available.
Hope you show us the 8.6 in action soon, Kevin B mentioned you’ve been putting it to work
My 300 ham'r is extremely accurate. 2600fps w 130 speer hollow point and 2772fps with 110 vmax
What powder? I'm looking very seriously at one of these. Seems ideal

Man that round can drop some hogs!
Looked like some nice size pigs, great shooting.
Great shooting and video as always!!!
What Load of the Ham’r were you shooting?
Awesome Shooting.
There seems to be a distinct lack of 'thwack' with these short thirty bores. They're great at shotgun ranges, but hogs get tough real fast with range.
Love the classic content
Sweet, sweet gear, sir.
That scope reminds me of something Luke Skywalker would use.
Expensive?

Speaking of calibers, I heard a little birdie say that you might have an 8.6 blackout laying around there. Any videos on that coming out?
I’ve been killing with that for about a year

What length barrel is that? I've been deer hunting with an 18" Shaw Barrels upper.

They are about $1.50 per round from Wilson Combat. If you reload 300 Ham'r brass is $33.00 per hundred or $150.00 for 500 from Wilson Combat.
The problem is these freakin' hogs multiply fast. I know you guys wish you could shoot all of them! They are destructive!
