Hi Doc Jerry!! Indian Studies specialist here! Yung "maitim na daliri" around 4:42 ng video that you said is actually the dancer's fingertips (distal phalanges to be precise) painted red. In Indian classical dances, they put red dye sa fingers, and even sa soles and toes ng feet for two reasons. First, mas makikita kasi yung hand gestures that they do during the dance (and Indian dances are well-known for their hand gestures or "mudras") as well as the position ng paa when they do stances and poses. Second reason is, if natural herbal dye yung gamit nila, may cooling and relaxing effect daw (related to Indian traditional medicine.) I won't expound too much unless you want me to, pero basta related practice din ito sa henna or mehndi culture ng India. :) :) :) :)
