About us:
We're Jack & Megan, and in late 2020 we sold our belongings and packed our lives into our 2005 Toyota Troop Carrier to travel Australia. Our original plan was to complete a full lap of Australia and return home to Perth to resume our 'normal' lives. We decided we wanted to document our lap for the future and began sharing weekly travel vlogs of our life on the road and fell in love vlogging, filmmaking and sharing our lives with you. We completed our first lap and couldn't imagine living any other way so we decided to continue travelling and calling the Troopy home. We have gone on some crazy adventures since then and it is all thanks to you tuning in to join us every week.

Yeah it is good to make full use of the hotel amenities to fix up a breakfast but it is also good to just go to a hawker centre or coffeeshop. The price should be quite affordable for tourists

Singapore is amazing, the greenery, the food, the people, the attractions, nature n beaches, and all so near each other! The best, don’t have to spend lots of money n hours to go places.
19:57min - the "fishy" dark paste is sambal, a kind of shrimp paste with chilli. You are to mix it all into the laksa soup, it will add further depth to flavour of the soup.

Its amazing Singapore is classed as a sister city to Adelaide , well Adelaide hasn't learnt anything from its sister city I'd be imbaressed beeing a Singaporean and beeing classed to anything like Adelaide Singapore out classes Adelaide in every way it's a beautiful clean city and so much respect has been trained into them by their government over the years has kept it be a beautiful place 😊

Great one guys. I love Singapore. Its pretty much a western style country in Asia. IMO, the MRT (Mass Rail Transport) is the best way to travel around Singapore. And like you did, I eat where the locals do. I always find it cheap & offers plenty of choices. Usually 1/3 the cost of the equivalent meals in AUS. A tip for getting up to the roof top of the Marina Bay Sands for free, is to have drinks, lunch or dinner at the restaurant above. Then you can walk around the observation deck where you look down on pretty much everything - incl. the Gardens by the Bay.
Hey Hammer, That was definitely the vibe we had when adventuring around it had a Westerner vibe! the transport options are just next level. we ended up finding a few places that the locals eat and it was very well priced!

Just an interesting fact, Google Maps is well integrated in Singapore. So even public bus/train timings, traffic density, even Grab/taxi routes and timings, etc, are all integrated in the app.

Welcome to Singapore. That's an excellent upgrade of a room with a view. FYI that's not pork or pork fat in your prawn noodles dish. That's a piece of sliced fish cake. Basically made from fish paste, flour, seasoning...fried and sliced. You will find them in a lot of noodle dishes.
Try a sugar cane with lemon juice, local kopi or tea with kaya toast set at Ya Kun. For most hawker centres they are usually opened from morning till late afternoon. Only some places open for dinner time crowd. And there's a another free water fountain and lights show at the MBS area.

Love love love Singapore - I did a one night stay at the Marina Bay Sands resort last time - Way expensive but totally worth it to stay in that pool for 10 hours...LOL. Surprising I never got to the gardens, but on the list for next time!

For laksa, that is chill...you have to mixed it before eating. In singapore usually we don't order laska for dinner because of the coconut milk inside, it might upset your stomach, as they cooked it in the morning and lasted till evening. If the stall is popular, then it is probably ok as they cooked it for a couple of times.
20:25 that is fishcake.... it is not pork. Sliced fishcake found in all fishball noodles, fried kway teow...

I love SIN. Used to go there for work heaps. Go for white pepper crab and san lou meehon at JB Ah Meng’s in Geylang (near Aljuneid station on East-West line). The crab’s a bit exxy but absolutely worth it.
Also there are many Din Tai Fungs around if you want to absolutely feast on dumplings.
Hi just to share at 2.20 that's called fish-cake (not port fat). It's fish meat blended with starch, mostly deep fried then cut into thin slices like what the lady is eating. Cheers!

Best Singapore hawker centres are : Adam Road, Seah Im (Harbourfront), Newton Food Centre (Newton), Old Airport Road Food Centre (Geylang), East Coast Food Centre (Tanah Merah), Ayer Rajah Food Centre (Clementi), Lau Pa Sat (Raffles Place) & Maxwell Food Centre (Raffles Place)..
Popular drinks : Sugarcane (with & without lemon), Bandung, Teh C, Teh Peng, Teh O Ice, Kopi O etc..
Singapore is absolutely amazing. If you come across grilled BBQ prawns anywhere, eat them whole, she'll and all. Tastes amazing. Keep your eye out for the bacon stands as well

I have only ever had a Laksa in Perth at one place, that takes me back to Singapore 😊 China Town hasn't changed much 😊 I can't wait to get back there next year, it's really changed since I went back in 1990,

Haven't been to Singapore for more than twenty years - much more affordable back in the day but not as impressive. You make me want to go back. Malaysia next? Much cheaper (than Singapore or Bali) - east coast Islands (Tioman, Redang & Perhentians) are superb & KL is one of my favourite cities.
Would have been a whole different city back then hey! Would have loved to have seen it back in the day.

Cheap meals available at hawker markets. Also the mango baby tofu is delicious
If you had already make sure you visit Raffles and have the famous Singapore sling. I found that Singapore is not a cheap place to visit but incredibly beautiful.

You did not explore the whole garden, there's some humongous trees at one section.
You guys are having braised duck & roasted duck. Quite surprised you guys had gone to Adam food centre which not many tourists to SG will choose, good choice though.
That's the sambal chilli which you are supposed to mix into the laksa to add some spice to it.

Great to see Megan recovered well. Singapore is a fantastic country. Here's a trivia for you, the Marina Bay Sands was designed by an Australian architect, and used many Australian engineers to build it. And the Gardens by the Bay is next level. Something we need to do in Australia. When the Ku De Ta Bar on the top of Marina Bay Sands was open, you could go up to the observation deck for free, so long as you have drinks or food there. It's closed now. But there is still a restaurant there. But I don't know if you have to pre-book first.
Lavo is an "upmarket" Italian restaurant, so pricey. Ce La Vi replaced Ku De Ta (geddit? "Ku De Ta" was coup d'etat, so they said, "C'est La Vie") and it's free (the view), if you get at least a drink. The third restaurant is "Spago", i think.
Moshe Safdie is Australian?
Moshe Safdie is the architect. An American, Canadian and Israeli mixed...i don't know if he is also an Australian 😂
My mistake. Perhaps the documentary I watch was referring to the construction company that built it. My bad.

I lived in Singapore for about 4 months back in 2000. Fantastic place! You gotta try Bobo Terigu for a great snack/dessert. Lau Pa Sat for sensational outdoor local food

Other than accommodation, daily expenses can be low if u eat at hawker centers. You won’t get bored since there you will be spoilt for choice. 😁

Singapore is great and reasonably affordable... unless you want a beer! If you like Indian food at all it is generally world class in Singapore but then again, so is almost everything!
If you haven't left town yet you might like the Tree Top Walk near MacRitchie Reservoir which is free. Lots of different ways you can do walks around there with the longest being about 14km from memory. Should be able to do most of it without crowds around you. Take a lot of water though... that humidity is a bitch!
What interest me is who/ what UA-cam or friend recommend them, to visit Singapore
