Thank you for the warning regarding the screws on the unit. I will keep that in mind when i build my loop.

if u plug it into aquaero 6 or whatever older version that you have, you can see the gallons/liters per minute wich is helpful to know.

Una muy mala idea retrigerar el micro procesador del pc con agua porque una perdida de agua podría quemar irremediablemente el cpu

I just got the same flow indicator, but mine only came with one of each type of flow diameter conversions. Are they even necessary?

which is the diameter of the tube that uses?

i don't get what use of this sensor you are making: if you use it for making sure the pump is running, then every pump has tachimetric signal - just plug the cable to the cpu fan and set the warnings in bios. If you want to measure flow rate, you've got to pick the signal and convert that number in liters - or gallons per hour.

Thomas Samoht it looks cool, mate.

It's cool, but useless... better some cool looking reservoir, then ;)

Thomas Samoht Not exactly useless, my best advice with flow sensors is think of them as a temporary loop item. Yes you could keep them in your system all the time and it might save you from a pump failure but as most systems support temp shutdown it's not really needed.
What this is really good for is improving the waterflow through your system, what I normally do with mine is whenever I have setup a new loop I attach this to the loop to see the flow-rate of the current setup. Then i switch round the loop till I find what gives me the best flowrate. You would be very surprised how much it can make a difference (nearly gained an extra 1/2 of flowrate but just moving my connections around).

ION Knight You don't need a flow meter in a loop. I can only agree on the fact that it's cool-looking. As long as you do things "common sense-wise" (and above all, "physics-wise"), you'll always have "good flow" in your loop. If flow is reduced because of tubes kingking, strange angles bendings and other oddities.... you really need a flow meter to tell you something's going wrong?

Thomas Samoht For most people yes you don't need one, but the exception to that rule for me is tight systems with lots of watercooling inside. Where we both know that the normal common sense, becomes less obvious when a system is alot more extensive. The best thing I have found it's use for is with multiple blocks, as finding where in your loop has the biggest slowdown makes it easier choosing reduction plates (to little flow going through your CPU ? increase the holes on your reduction plate). Without a flow sensor or indicator your pretty much playing a guessing game.

What are the flow conversion used for? How do you choose what size you need?

Thanks for the quick reply :) Do you see any difference in the spinning speed when using different size conversions?
