    Before anyone claims I "hate" Mayhems... I don't. For the record even after the public issue I had with them 2 years ago I have continued to use Mayhems XT, XT1 and am still using green pastel in Skunkworks without any color change issues. Mayhems and I have stayed in communication all this time and because of my issues the pastel product has been improved based on my experience! Also if you want to fact check my statements about Aurora, here is Mayhems spec sheet on Aurora. - mayhems.co.uk/mayhems-aurora-guide/

    9:13 Fun fact, glycol is alcohol. Everyone calls ethanol "alcohol", even though it's just one of many different alcohols.

    • @alexlow8
      @alexlow8 7 років тому +2

      I was going to say that. Glad someone else already did. Any Organic compound with a name ending in "ol" you can safely bet on being an alcohol. The "ol" naming convention denotes the presence of at least one hydroxyl group bonded to a saturated carbon atom, which is what makes it an alcohol. Organic Chemistry 101.

    That fluid is gorgeous, would love to see it in purple or deep blue, but I'm happy with seeing the green variant.
    Also, I know that a lot of people say this, but seriously Jay, I freaking love the lighting and just how the video looks, you're an incredibly talented artist, and it really does make me wonder what you could do if you had an unlimited budget for your camera and lighting setup. :)

    Moving - that's what fluids do :-) The pigment they're using just allows you to see the motion that would otherwise be invisible. Every still-looking glass of water would have the same sort of flows when treated in that manner. What's very cool here is that apparently the particle size of the pigment is small enough that, just like superfine particles in the air, they can be kept in suspension by the energy of the fluid alone, or its density is very close to water. It'd be interesting to put it in a centrifuge and see at what speed the particles precipitate.

    Pearl-swirl.
    Rheoscopic indicator.
    Rheo-what?
    Rheo from the Latin. Flow. Movement of fluids. River = Rio.
    Scopic as in lets you scope out the flow.
    Microscopic silvered mica flakes in suspension.
    Not saying this is the same stuff, as the mica will settle out over time.
    But if this guys have found a micro-flake that doesn't settle out, then I want.

    • @8836290
      @8836290 7 років тому +3

      Obviously you know it wrong. "Rheo" comes from the Greek "Ρεο" or "Ρέω" (verb) which means flow or I flow (the verb). "Scopic" is again Greek word derived from the word "σκοπικός" which means "I see" or watch or observe something. You have the same word in "telescope" or on "oscilloscope" as well as in many other words. The Latins just borrowed those words from Greeks. So "Rheoscopic" in general means something that you can see it when it flows, or it shows its movement when it flows. Pretty much every liquid. Don;t try to use Google translator. The words are first used in ancient Greek language and they still being used as such until today.

      There are a few amazing as well as affordable cases coming out this quarter. I see improvements that cover many of the small mistakes made on the current top cases, ie spacing and airflow as well as provisions for water and supports for the huge 1080 ti gpu's. You will notice the problems I am talking about when Jay finishes that Cougar open air build. I really like the looks and design of the Cougar but feel there were may spacing issues over looked. Most of the new higher end mother boards (Ryzen 7, i9, and Thread ripper)are EATX and provide clearance issues in the Cougar open air and others as well.

    I had some of PrimoChill's coolant a while back, their red concentrate stuff. Looked great for about 3 months until it looked like it turned almost a light purple. Drained it and it was a horrible yellowish color, like a tea. Hated it. Replaced it right away with some of mayhems red pastel premixed stuff and love it so far. I'm a little hesitant to go back to PrimoChill but I'll keep an eye on this. I really like that swirling look that mayhem has but like to u mentioned and like what I've heard, it settles quick and tends to clog of your system and isn't really good for long term use. If this stuff holds up in this build I may give PrimoChill another shot. Look awesome! Keep us updated please!

    The vue comes with antifreeze inside, that makes your loop incredibly cool, pun intended ! If you want real results, spray normal antifreeze on your mobo during normal operation. It won’t affect the electric parts but will give you huge temp drops ! That’s the secrete behind antifreeze ! :)

    I like the color, if I ever decide to water cool I'll probably just go clear tho. The color change between the tubing and pump would slightly annoy me but that's more just preference then anything.

    Looks a little like the surface of a planet like Jupiter. That swirling looks amazing!

    they basically the same thing at this one science museum, its inside of a ball that you can roll, but its positioned inside of a table so that itll just roll in place its pretty cool

    this is cool cause you can acually see the fluid moving through everything and not just 1 solid color.

    These are the video's why i subbed to yourt channel, several years ago.
    Not that i'm ever gonna do a custom watercooling build. But still .. eyecandy.
    its even better than RGB.

    Wow. Definitely getting this. Shame you didn't show how it looks under UV light. But totally better than regular fluid.

    JayzTwoCents I've been having that exact same problem with D5 PWM and Crosshair VI Hero for a few days now, asked about it on a forum and here comes the solution: you have to go to BIOS -> Monitor -> Q-Fan settings -> "W_PUMP control" or something like that... (if it's connected to W_PUMP) and that's it, you have the control ;)

    Jay - You think you could do a video on Galvanic Corrosion, what it actually looks like when it happens in a watercooled system, and how bad it can actually get? I don't think it'd be too hard, you'd just need a sacrificial rad and waterblock, with one aluminum and one copper, and wouldn't even need to put it in a build, just attach it to a test bench.

    I heard Mayham's UV Green is the only fluid that keeps glowing at the 1 year mark, and that most others just fade away after a few weeks. How did the Primochill hold up?

    That's a cool looking fluid, if i wasnt using EKWB ZMT tubing id get this, looks awesome. My car does sit vertical though so could look awesome. Just drained and clean my system and put my vega 64 block on, doesn't even reach 40°C with my 360/240 setup.

    That is so cool! I almost wanna buy a bottle of this just to sit on my desk and look pretty, kinda like a lava lamp or something.
