Ok class, where do dragons come from? Well a mommy dragon is called by a daddy sylas to make a baby dragon who calls mom.
Imagine how cute he would've been with an actual baby dragon face and not a horrific human face

I wish he got bigger as he levels up, and he would go from a young dragon, to an adult dragon at lvl 18.
And with each level of ult he can get more range on either abilities or autos.
Sounds really cool, but that would expand his hitbox, which would be something you not want as an adc
And then at level 18, if he has Shyvana on his team, he can choose to mate with her and spawn another baby Smolder giving you a 6th teammate!
Thats what I thought when riot said that the next marksmen was a cute thing that evolved into something powerful but no, he stays in baby form all of the time

Kit seems incredibly strong. His flight makes him a super safe champ. Might even be a midlane pick.
But at least his kit seems balancable, no ability, where the only way to nerf it, would be to remove it completely. *Looks at Akshan and Viego as two examples*
You'd say that, but it's a very slow, pretty low range dash. Just because he has mobility doesn't make him safe. Think of Corki, for example.

I mean... he DOES need to get 225 stacks to unlock that, so MAYBE it can be SOMEWHAT balanced depending on the amount and the time you get this at however, giving a marksman, a class meant to deal nothing but damage, this may be problematic.
His abilities are great for sure, but I honestly cannot bring myself to believe that a freshly hatched terrestrial dragon runt is supposed to be a rival to a star forging, galaxy sundering, cosmic being.
Bruh Tibbers, Daisy, and yorick's ghouls are able to kill asol and you're concerned about Smolder?

I was planning on playing him as soon as I saw his teaser because he reminded me of Gnar. Now that I've seen them using Gnars passive icon for his passive I'm definitely playing him.
It looks like he grows longer horns the more passive stacks he has which is cool.

@@alt-q1y Funny enough, those kinds of champs aren't really popular among the fanbase. People were complaining about Smolder's design the moment he got revealed.
Rito of course doesn't care about players opinion or feedback and simply think they know better, with all their "combined game design experience", so they do stuff like that again and again. Or maybe they were simply desperate for a cheap mascot opportunity, who knows?

Champs seems alright, definitely think it's gonna struggle a bit into early game matchups, but with the amount of AOE he has, his scaling is gonna be unbelievable.
I've always been a fan of building full ad on adc champs in mid lane. So this champ is actually right up my ally

E new concept? Its just a buffed Akshan spell :D R hasnt got anything new or fresh, there are 10 more champions who got the same ultimate just with different animation. And yes nobody need an ad asol with execute and true dmg

Well in late game since that % max hp true damage doesn't show up unless he has enough stacks
He has no hard cc or crazy dash do make sure q lands, it's strong but not totally unfair

I dont think his ult can crit. Im pretty sure the crit marker is to show you hit the centre on an enemy. Like Lillia's bonk shows a crit marker when you hit an enemy in the centre of ir
ryze e q also shows the blue crit sign. i actually thought it was a crit. we need a better indicator for sweetspots and empowered abilities
Yeah most “enhanced” damage shows up with the crit indicator, anivia E, aatrox sweetspot, karthus q, morde q, and I think Nidalee’s Takedown if they’re marked could be wrong on that one though because my spears tend to miss (its not my fault i swear)

When I saw the little presentation clip on instagram I thought he would somehow steal ancient drake's effect, but he just has it passively, lol
at 3:27 you can see his Q proc pta, meaning it applies on hit effects like ezreal, does that mean is little explosions proc it too?
The way I see it, his ult doesn't "crit" but it's just a way to show, that the center part hit. Like Anivia E also "crits" when the enemy was hit by q or ult beforehand. It's not a real crit, but the number is shown in such a way.

@@Mindfever20 but it is not effected by crit chance and it is not by chance at all. If you hit another spel before, the damage is allways increased. If you didn't hit another spell, the damage is never increased.
The things isn't about if the damage is double or not. it is about if you gain more dmg buying crit @Mindfever20

anivia's ult need to be the big circle, then the chill is applied and then the E is empowered. If you cast R and immediately E, its not empowered
Unfortunate that we have now completely lost the chance to get an actual terrestrial dragon champion in the game.

@@magical571because it's literally Asol's E but can change the direction mid air and it's way faster.

When the mom fly's over him to heal him, u can see a little animation and hearts. that's a really sweet detail

I'm curious if he has any attack speed bonuses, how much crit scaling does he have and what his AD and AP ratios are because I think he'll end up building lethality and still scale like a monster.

If you’re wondering about what the stack thresholds on his Q will mean in practice, remember that he stacks basically the exact same way as Veigar.
In other news, is his Q the only ability that evolves with stacks?
Stacks the same with veigar, except he has a much more consistent way of stacking off of minions. Could see him hitting max form in like 20 minutes.

i can see this working in jungle with his E being the way it is and so low cooldown at rank 5.
looks fun. i am wondering why you would build collector on him if one of his passives is already an execute in the same way. kind of makes a core component of his kit useless
People also build collector on pantheon so...
Maybe it's because you have to hit with that specific ability to trigger it. While collector would cover the rest of your kit.

i expected him to be a mage but AD caster is cool too. Not sure how strong the R will be but I'm hoping it's not TOO ridiculous. E might be annoying to fact seeing as he can go through terrain easily, I suppose it comes down to how long the CD for it is, hoping it isn't something spammable or it'd be too annoying.

Its a sneeze not a high powered shotgun being used as a rocket launcher. But i get what you mean they probs didnt want to include a dash

the fact they made an scaling caster hyper carry that’s a cutesy monster when we already had KogMaw and couldn’t think of anything better with the dragon concept other that spewing fire really shows the decline in quality with this one
I'm just waiting for Riot to produce some originality with their kit design at this point... Every champion seems to be, Q - fire this aoe projectile, W - some steroid or another AOE projectie, E - some type of dash/ignore wall ability, R - Another larger AOE projectile with more range... Of course on top of some stacking passive that deals max % health and true damage and execute... It's all the same...
I mean, i realize it's hard to be original after releasing over 160 champions... But by the look of Smolder's kit, it's basically Q = fireball (that evolves some special effects), W = another slightly bigger fireball, R = the biggest fireball...
Idk, the designs seems really lazy... Interesting designs to me are something like Jhin... you have 4 shots, reload cooldown, 4th shot guaranteed crit, you can use W to root off teammates abilities, you can set traps with E to root yourself or protect from flanks, your ult is like something unique
@@zennihilator3724A few simpler kits is perfectly fine and healthy for game longevity. The issue is when they incorporate new mechanics and gimmicks into a champion, they're filled to the brim with new gimmicks.

When you get at least 25 stacks the stacking will probably be faster
So this thing is such a legend that he calls his mom to do the work, trurly a league of legends moment
The sad part is that Riot will probably consider this to be a monster champion, which means we won't get another one for the rest of the year.

There’s actually a lot of caster marksmen. There’s ezreal, sivir, xayah, nilah, varus, zeri?, and Caitlyn. Samira too kinda.
Regardless, he looks fun and doesn’t seem super overloaded like all of the other recent marksmen.
Should be an easy balance guys and is most definitely not going to be played in other lanes!

3. Q is a fast moving projectile
4. Q deals AOE damage
5. Q gains lissandra Q effect
6. Q gains max health% true damage execute
7. W fast to slow moving projectile. Goes through enemies with a nunu W hitbox. Hitting enemies causes an explosion
8. E = Aurelion Sol E with Akshan E and movement speed.... Can go over terrain and you can change directions etc...........
8. Pantheon Ult 2.0, but can crit and heals Smolder when he gets hit by it...

Not really. I can easily see any marksman with a little mobility such as Tristana or Kai'sa could body them easy enough if they are ahead. It seems he's the markman version of Aurelion Sol if you think about it and will be really weak in the early game.
Kog 2.0. Essentially no reason to play him anymore. Not that he was even really worth it because every ADC explodes instantly and he dies the fastest.
