I hope you enjoy this video! Kian and I had a great time filming it! Give it some love if you liked it !
Very good! Love to hear and see you guys process each other's ideas and preferences. Lots of tips and wisdom. Thanks for this. And thank you for the fingering for the first page of the Shostakovich concerto! You guys both sound fantastic!
Super! 🙌🏻💙
Thanks a bunch! Fantastic. Could you please do me/us a favor and post your special fingering of Shostakovich #1, beginning of the 1st movement fingering, just before the double stops? I didn't really get it. That would be terrific.
Pablo Ferrández gracias por compartir estos videos, se aprende muchísimo de los grandes!!
This video made me subscribe!
Really liked it, please keep them coming
I kept getting jealous of Violin players having TwoSet but now us Cello players Have Pablo and Kian 😁
You may be interested to know that Kian Soltani has been on TwoSetViolin videos.
haha omg yes thats awesome :D
them complimenting each other's vibrato 😂 "no u"
I love the younger generation of musicians. You guys are so generous with sharing the gift and the craft of music, with enthusiasm and encouragement. I certainly would have love my cello more (studying it over 40 years ago) if there had been UA-cam back then. I may yet become a bit better..☺️🎶 Thank you!!
Anyone here also not practising Prokofiev Sinfonia concertante at the age 15? 😂
Verena Breitfuß I’m still practicing Elgar lmao you guys on Prokofiev?!
Im almost 17 and im doing lalo...ummmm not doing that damn piece 😂
I am 53 and just started Suzuki book 3. Maybe I’ll get to Prokofiev at 60. :-)
I had an 18 year old student learn it over the summer without telling me. It turns out to be not be as bad as I originally thought...
Same!!!😂I’m seventeen and doing haydn C major, Ive definitely missed my chance with projofiev.
Dang, please do more? It is super interesting to watch two extremely talented players discuss this kind of stuff
I'm totally agree!!! ❤️
It’s lovely to see them eager to learn off each other! There is so much humility and it’s so great to watch!!!
Hey Pablo and Kian!
I loved your video, and the videos that you have done previously. Your video on “how to improve your sound” was the biggest game-changer for me. Ever. I aspire to get as big and rich of a sound as you do, Pablo.
I was wondering if you could make a video where you guys discuss stage presence, what your process is, and how you deal with in-the-moment situations. I have a lot of performance anxiety, and although I’m addressing it and making progress, I would love to hear your guys’ thoughts on this.
Thanks so much for this video!
Absolutely superb. I particularly enjoyed watching the multiple ways in which one could approach a piece, with both men feeding off each other's ideas. Soltani is a wonderful cellist! On another note, I am always amazed at how foreigners make the effort to speak English. I wish we folks in Britain and the Anglosphere would make a similar effort to speak languages such as Spanish. Looking forward to more of these videos.
Such an inspiration to all!!! Awesome video!! Would love to see more for sure!
This is such a lovely idea, thank you so much for doing this series! ❤️
Loved it. Can’t wait for the next one
Kian and Pablo! This is really great, super helpful and nuanced conversations.
just from watching u guys I get so much motivation and I always feel that watching great Cellists with bulletbroof techniqe is like a drop of oil in the system when I play again!!!!!! Thanks so much and keep it up pls ;)
This was awesome. I have a fear when shifting at age 51, and your information made all the difference when I practiced. Thank you both so much! Hope this series will continue on your channel. Cheers!
Thanks guys ..... that upload was fantastic ❤️ please send more .... my favourite two cellists
Love it, hope it becomes a regular segment!
thank you so much for sharing this! i really needed it
This is sooo great, please make more :D
Thank you so much, Pablo and Kian!!! This video was so helpful and I learned so much from it!! 😆
Pablo, thank you! you always ask the best questions! I feel I learn a lot when I watch your interviews. I admire you so much, thank you!
One can see you two guys have high respect for each other and that's so nice to see! Feels good:)
I love it!!! Share more videos pleaseeeee 😍❤️❤️❤️
You guys should do this more. This is amazing!
Fascinating ........ never too old to learn different aspects on how to play your instrument !.
Well done Pablo and Kian!! Thanks for sharing; few topics i would love to hear in the future:
1) intrument setup like string height; bridge curve ;soul placement ;intrument care etc etc.
2)process of memorizing new music.
3)dealing with jet lag .
4)orchestra soloist rules and etiquette if there are any .
5)after concert favorites drinks ))).
How is it possible to be so likable and talented at the same time? Both of you
Soooo helpful and interesting to see how top class soloists think about they own playing and use others inspirations to perfect their interpretations. Makes me want to practice !
Thanks so much for the subtitles! It’s so helping for me, I feel bad I cant understand every word they say. ThanksyouThankyou!
YES YES YES this is what quality content is! 🤓🕺🏽
such a wonderful idea!! So interesting!!! 😍
This video was so relatable! It reminds me of the fun memories I had with my best friend :)
In love with Pablo Ferrandez and his beautiful music!!! 😍😍

woww este vídeo me ha cambiado la vida! Muchas gracias por traernos este vídeo tan útil...somos chelistas afortunadas !
Thank you so much Pablo and Kian for amazing video. 😍😍
Thank you, this is awesome. Please keep going
Thank you guys so much! You guys should talk about Dvořák, especially the chromatic octave run, I can never seem to speed it up!
Great video! Nice of you to shout out Matthew Allen... I often wonder what happened to him. He was an incredible player and was just getting better and better every year.
You need to make more 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Amazing!! Please more more moreeee
So much helpful information, a lot of inspiration and the best emotions! I'm happy, glad and grateful to you both, guys!
This is so much better than a "usual Masterclass". Hope you will continue this (forever)...
You should have Brannon Cho on and talk about cello, of course if the stars ever align for you two to make the video. Without mention this was a great video, please continue to make more!
Congrats on the excellent topics covered in the 1st episode. A suggestion to switch the two cameras so the main cam from the front gets the sharper view.
Great video ! Great insight. Would be very onteresting to have more discussion on the right arm for a next video ! Thank you for this !
That was super helpful and interesting!! Here are some ideas for the next video: Posture (using a bent endpin? angle of the cello and arm angles?) right hand bow strokes or techniques (ricochet, repeated up/down bows, sautille?)
Thank you so much that was great!!!
Super nice !!! Very very good idea ! So interesting !
Thank you so much for sharing this! I have a suggestion!!! I am very interested on learning how to breath with the cello. If you guys could share more about this topic that will be wonderful!!!
Fascinating insight ! I know its a cello talk but I was wondering if the the musical harmony, structure, period etc effects your choices fingering etc.You guys are cello Gods !!!
Great video! I wish something like this existed also for piano...
Great video! With the subtitle one can differentiate with colors more easily
Very interesting Pablo.
Could you do a video telling how do you prepare a concert?
How do you study? Do you warm up with scales?
How did you get that amazing vibrato?
Thank you so much for making this video. You answered a lot of questions I have. In the next one, could you talk about making trills sound smooth and natural? Also, I have very small hands and thumb positions and extensions can be difficult. Any suggestions?
This was great! In a future talk can you address trill vibrato or two finger vibrato?!
Bravo for Kian's words! Help each other ;)
Really helpful and interesting!
I think you could focus on a single "argument" for every video, so you can go deeper in theese.
Really nice idea, thank you guys, you both are great :)
Great video, very useful!
I'm thinking about Dvorak's concerto and the difficult passages in the first movement. Any advice? Furthermore, with regards to the second movement, i'm struggling to make it sound really moving...Could it be becausse of the lack of longer phrasing?
Love, Ivan
Very interesting! I've asked myself the thumb question too, for the bow. I think I will try out both - straight and round, but naturally my thumb is straight. but it's hurt after practice so something is not so good
This was so cool! I am learning so much. Please post more guys! 👍🏾 Just a few questions: Do you both only play and practice Classical music? Do you also for fun just play cinematic scores like from John Williams or Hans Zimmer or other Hollywood composers? Do you sometimes play Jazz? Just wondering about what other styles you play for practice or for fun. Also, do you transpose compositions that you like or make your own compositions? If so how do you like to go about that?
Could you explain how to practice continuous vibrato between fingers? I am struggling with this technique!
Приятно вас смотреть !!!👍👍👍
Если не сложно сделайте русские субтитры 🤗
So interesting ❤
I don't play Cello, but this is very interesting.
The rising generation of cellists are talented beyond anything we’ve ever seen.
Such amazing
7:05 amazing how such small changes can have such profound impact
Amazing
And now I am doing every single shift like that! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
woa... soltani controls speed like a master
Thank you!
I didn't play any instrument and I knew these guys from twoset but this video is very informative for me who has zero knowledge about cello. Tysm😊
Faznim Nur My knowledge about violins: Twoset. My knowledge about cellos: these guys. Which I learned about from Twoset. :)
may you please make a video on what strings are good for a cello. For example what brand/what type?
Muito Bom !
Find it hard to straighten or curve my index finger at thumb position, but instead my index finger bend when the thumb is put on the string. Is there any methods or suggestions for it so that my index finger doesn't bend?
Make a video about bach 6 prelude?
Podrías subtitularlo en castellano... Please??
Pablo hi! i have a questiuo, how to fell the weight of your arms? and hou to feel more relax in your hands and especially the right hand, thank you!!
You guys are the best thaaank you for the video !! And my question for you pablo is what is your practicing programme Daily , i mean what do you start with finish with how many hours do you practice .. !!

I'm sorry, I'll let myself out.
Too hot 🔥🔥🔥to handle 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
Someone's horny.... Wrong site! :p
Qué lástima no está subtitulado en español.
Subtítulos en español please?
since I'm a professional influencer I can suggest you to use microphones to record your voice/playing😉
apart from that, nice video!👏
What are your thoughts on managing the touring life? You both seem to be on the road constantly.
What do you think about Santiago Cañon's way of play?
Thanks for the awesome video, guys! Could you possibly talk about how to play with more power being a soloist for an orchestra? I am playing Haydn in C with an orchestra in a week and a half, and in rehearsal, I've had to play really loud and it is really tiring. Mostly thumb cramps but other right arms problems with fatigue, too.
Thanks ☺
Keep in mind when you're playing, the top of the cello moves side to side (physics) creating that incredible resonance. If you put too much weight in the bow, the top can't move as well, meaning less resonance. When I was a kid, I'd record myself, and couldn't figure out why the fortes sounded thin and weak (pressing too much), but the piano dynamic sounded rich, full, and even louder than the forte. Even first note of Dvorak is not heavy weight.
Good luck with Haydn! Happy music.
What kinds of vibrato are there?
soltani looks indian too,,but is veRY good...
:oo
best...indian has perfect idea how to produce a great sound ..
Let's give this series a name. How about 2setcello?
