Instagram Famous MICRO BAKERIES in New York City! Kora Doughnut, L'Appartement 4f & Kemi Dessert Bar

- In this video I test out three micro Instagram bakeries around New York City. These small kithcen bakeries are not a new concept, but when the world shut down in March of 2020 many people in the hospitality industry found themselves out of work. Cooks and pastry chefs had to find a new way to support themselves and many turned to Instagram to try and sell their home baked goods. All of this is possible due to a state licensing exemption called Cottage Food Laws that allows the bakers to sell their goods without a permit and to use their apartments consumer-grade ovens and refrigerators. And with the normal barriers and upfront cost to starting a business gone, pastry chefs and bakers have been given the perfect opportunity to let their creativity flourish. First stop is Kora Doughnuts in Queens, New York. They are famous for their Fillipino flavors that they fill inside a brioche doughnut. We tried flavors like Pandan, Ube, Flan and Casana. I had been recommended this place by so many of my UA-cam subscribers that I had to check it out! Kora Doughnuts drop once a week and sell out in one minute! Sometimes I think its harder than buying Billie Eilish concert tickets or a PS5! The second stop was at L'Appartement 4f in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn for some croissants. You may recognize them on Instagram or Tik Tok for their famous Petite Cereale which is a mini croissant cereal that is always sold out! We taste tested their framboise croissant and almond nutella croissant. The last stop was at Kemi Dessert Bar's Pop up shop at Land to Sea in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The first day I got there too late and she was already sold out! So I got up early the following day and picked up a horicha tres leche cake, pandan crumble cookie, thai tea ganache shortbread cookie and kemi cube duo.

Everything I use to film:
While I am on the go, I film with my iPhone 11 Pro Max on the Dji Mobile Osmo 3. This allows me to get super smooth shots. I combine that with the either the Saramonic lavalier mic or Rhode mic and use a mount to attach it to the gimbal.

When I film at my apartment, I use my iPhone Pro Max as the main camera and my Canon 6D with the 24-105 f/4 lens for B-roll and photos. For the overhead shots, I use an overhead camera rig to mount my Canon 6D and connect a camera monitor so I can view the shot. And when my camera is set up on the ground, I use a quick release tripod. For lighting, I use the Neewer ring light and for audio, the Saramonic lavalier mic or Rhode mic (Linked Above).
