Just wanted to give a shout-out, thank you to guys. You've peaked my curiosity in EVs throughout the months, even inspired me to rent a Tesla just to see what it's like (financially tied to my Fusion Energi at the moment), love the in depth car reviews, and an extra thank you for introducing me to other awesome UA-camrs (ie Aging Wheels). You guys rock, keep it up, love what you're doing for the infrastructure.
Finally, charging companies begin to understand that most EV owners only charge on road trips, they don't want to worry about installing apps, they just want to pull up, tap the card, and start charging. Just like when I go on a road trip in a gasoline vehicle: I just need a working gas station. I don't care if it is a Chevron or Esso or whatever. I will probably never be back, I am just a single-time user.
Unfortunately while true, a terrible business model to show a profit and stay in business without taxpayer subsidies. Imagine the costs to build that power infrastructure middle of nowhere and payback time. Fan noise must be impressive in summer
Big Corps: but your data!! How can I make money monetizing your data if you don't install my app that siphons off your data for my profit?!?
@@trendel13 I see this narrative a lot. We were raised to feel we are special, in business terms not so much. The data isn’t worth anything these days. All redundant, because of so many sources. The privacy ship sailed long ago. The truly invasive stuff like 3D WiFi mapping everywhere including in home, private and public license plate readers, UWB tracking, and the like that’s a different level.
I don’t agree. Quite a few people who own EVs don’t have a place to charge at home and use Fast chargers like a gas station.
@@KomarBrolan Statistically, about 80% of EV owners charge at home. I think that 80% can be considered as "most EV owners" as I stated above.
In addition to scorpions, watch out for snakes!
This charging site look awesome. Clean, Safe, Restrooms, Shelter if you want it and a place to stretch your legs/let the kids play is great!
I have an idea for a new ad campaign for Eaton chargers in residential areas...
Eaton: Good in the Neighborhood.
😂😂😂
another thing about having a sign sying the stalls that are in use and the speeds on entrance, is that you can also easily say which ones are out of use and why, so people dont need to worry and think
So pumped for more concepts like this to pop up!
Was waiting for the video on this one! Experienced the yosemite outpost this summer and the people were so nice, hope rivian builds more!
Thank you for the work you guys do!
Charged yesterday at the new RAN in Queensbury, NY. Seamless experience, great location off highway, and in lot of fabulous diner. Loving RAN and looking fwd to further build-out.
Sponsored by out of spec viewers! I love Kyle’s timing sense❤
Watch for scorpions???
Great job rivian, Kyle and Alessia 😊
The one in Yosemite is quite nice too!
Another interesting place to drop in on when I’m on holiday in the USA next autumn
That is a sharp R1S . Nice charging area . Why did it not open with solar canopy and atleast some battery storage ?
It's getting built now. No reason to hold up the charging part of the site just because canopies are not in place yet.
$0.60!!!!!! Means I’m getting 12 mpg in my lightning compared to gas prices. I’m all for more chargers but increasing prices are making me take my gas vehicle on road trips.
There is a string of Rivian chargers on the east side of the sierra Nevada on up to Reno.
Just got back from yet another Rivian road trip, and with 300kw on tap, its so rare to have 3 cars requesting more than whats on tap. Also I need time to grab a bite. Sure power share would be better, but no doubt it adds cost and complexity. Just providing the non-uber-power-user experience.
I charged my Polestar 2 there yesterday.
I would say , rivian service centers with charging would be way more business forward, Or do they plan not sellling nationwide anytime soon. Or going the dealership model for service
Just drove by this yesterday!
Water station must be operated by EA.
Give us what really really want Kyle! Evil 😈 We need a charging video of the Gen 2 max since Rivian’s holiday. Claims the charging has “improved.”
I love ur videos. Love them….but watch the perceived “privilege”. Rivian needs to do a lot of things. They do not need to change their LED lights only because u like to film. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Bro! It’s insane 🥴
Waiting for the Brand New Kyle's Corner Charging Station For All Makes to open, somewhere in the middle of the Great EV Charging Desert. Free cold Drinking Water, inexpensive Fast Food restaurant, local Museum, etc. Coming soon (right after his third powerball lottery win). Yes, I laugh at my own jokes. Somebody has to. No joke, good Job guys.
Can’t wait to get my R2, I just wish it could be an R2T
Kyle, I think you said that Rivian has expanded their network throughout the country. I live on the east coast and I disagree. I downloaded the Rivian app because I supposedly will be able to charge my Tesla on the Rivian chargers. From the map I see is the Rivian symbol but it's actually an EVGO etc. And by the way, what about Rivian's financial problems? On this side of the country and through the middle of the country, I do not see actually Rivian chargers. Please educate me if I'm wrong. Thanks
He said "They WILL be" and who knows how old this video is. But agree, it is not all RAN sites yet.
They opened a Rivian site open to non Rivians in Queensbury NY.
Well it would be great. I'm all in favor of "the more sites the better." But I understand the Rivian investors are pissed because they are dumping tons of money in only a few signature sites rather than expanding the network. They are unquestionably beautiful but a don't believe it's in the best interests of of Rivian as a whole right now.
Nice
What car is parked a few spaces away from the G Wagen?
For the plug n charge stuff in europe we have some network who do autocharge to a lot of car brand, you just create your account on the network app, enter your payment info, activate what they call autocharge on the app, connect the car once for the system to get your car mac address or something like that who the is registered into the provider database then here we go, every time you gonna plug your car no need to do anything just plug and enjoy
#JoshuaTree High Desert #California
So how many stations are there?
I heard from somewhere that the new Tesla V4 cabinets are not going to support power sharing.
Should've gone to Del Norte, Colorado. A new RAN charging station opened there for non-Rivians too. Not as fancy as this one at Joshua Tree though.
I think all Rivian v1.5 sites should be only 2 dispensers to have a min 150KW to qualify for some credits
Oh man I want that electric G so bad.
Dead plant: Euphorbia lactea a non native frost sensitive S.E. Asian succulent.
Sooo ready to see your video on the G580.
Is this the first Rivian place?
Curious how they do this but struggle to make vehicles that function properly. Once a company goes all out on optics like this it’s basically Enron 2.0 - annoyed R1T owner
Great place, but no pull-through
Kyle just moved to California already
Why would he do that?!
What are you talking about.
There is a Rivian charge station with just 2 charging devices at T.O. Fuller State Park in Memphis. It is very much an “out of the way” area.
8:58 try adjusting your camer's frames per scond
Charge up and drive up to Pioneertown and visit Pappy and Harriet's... cool place.
A great intimate concert venue as well! Love that place
It’s a weed 😂
It’s no Buc-ee’s 😂
Wow, a video which launches with four companies to beholden to, yea, that’s what you call independent opinion . . . ROTFL
I lost interest in this video the moment I heard "Electric G Wagon"! Now I will be scouring the internet on videos of the G wagon
They spell it Wagen, and Doug has a video on it.
Oil money and country diversification?
Sorry, but I do not think vehicle brands like Rivian, Tesla, or even the new Twelve year LATE player IONNA of eight automobile manufacturers just now in 2025 installing DC fast charging stations have paid employees with gift shops, AC or heated place to set at the expence of adding more cost to the KW price. This us a model that is Ten years old when vehicles needed 40 to 90 minutes to charge! In 2025, road trip charges only take 10 to 25 minutes maximum unless you are have lunch or dinner break. All ev drivers need are fast chargers in a save lighted area and let the businesses are provide the rest rooms and food options. That is a proven model, so new stations should have learned lessons of the past. IMO, all DC fast charging stations are great regardless and the market will work out new builds.😊
uh, yucka valley
I claim first!
Cosmic level win😂
First
Very exciting!!
2 minute Ad before the video even starts 💀
The down lighting in the parking lot is completely negated by the up-lighting on the RIVIAN canopy sign. 🫤
