I like that deburring tool Digger. The only bad thing about painting something that is brick is you paint everything, mortar joints and all, mortar is typically gray, when everything is the same color it looks cheap in my opinion. I mean obviously you’re not going to paint the mortar joints separately but then again some people will. Looking forward to the rest of the build Digger👍🏼🇺🇸🇬🇧
Well Stretch my old mate well spotted, but stick around for the next installment and you'll see how i paint the mortar joints in I never leave them out it just wouldnt look right.
@@stretchlimo7275 yeah the building will look old weathered and dirty by the time we're done, i have a short somewhere about doing the pointing in it's an easy enough process
Nice work, Digger! Deburring and sanding are standard procedure! I love the scalpel you have, though! Don't worry about it... the birds and dogs are part of the charm of the channel!
Brilliant video. We don't mild the noise. To us it's just an aspect of real life. Don't apologize for living. Cheers. Oh I got get me one of those edge cleaners. Thanks.
Looks like a fun build Digger. It looks so much better when you paint it. Digger I enjoy the sounds of nature they are fine. I find myself turning down the sound of the locos just to hear nature. Looking forward to the next installment.
Heya Digger! Wow, this is (originally) quite an old kit (well, I'm even ten years older though😂) - to be honest I've never heard of Magnuson Models Inc. (U.S.A.) before. So I'm looking forward to your next video(s) all the more. Cheers - Ralf🍀👋🏻
@@DiggerEvans Yes, I know, I'm still a youngster (I'll be 55 in exactly 5 weeks). And I will still hear that as an 80-year-old when I meet a 90-year-old... Ha ha ha... Luckily, Walthers obviously bought up a lot of old molds at some point and continues to produce diligently, which is great. I was hoping that there would be more of the fire trucks and other models from former Boley, but Walthers isn't doing as much, which is quite a shame.
That's a real bargain Clive and I agree a lot of the buildings we have here are not the most ideal. Some manufacturers are producing some good laser cut stuff, but there's a lot of Trumpton type buildings here that I find "undesirable" at best.
Hi Digger this is going to be a interesting build. I read one of the comments about motar joints i don't know if your brick paint will allow you to do it but when i built a plastic model i went over the bricks with creamemulsion i had some, then wipe it off and it look like motar. And in all fairness it wasn't as big as your model. I did like the colour you made it. Colin
Hiya colin, yeah i've done a few of these now there are quite a few methods we can employ to do the pointing in on the mortar lines, I've done a short a few months ago showing one of the methods i use which is quite effective
Nice work, Digger. Thanks for sharing the progress with us so far! What do you call that tool that you used for deburring the edges? I've never seen that before.
Great video Digger, looking forward to seeing your progress. HO scale… is your layout HO or 00? I seem to remember you doing an American city scene. Cya soon buddy
Thanks Anthony my layout is actually OO gauge but the building that I prefer are all HO gauge, i just don't l;ike the generic Trumpton type buildings that seem to be prevalent from the british manufacturers
Well Dwight the lesson here is "pay no mind to the subtitles" i said I have a baby Rottweiler not a baby root as the subtitles suggested nice pliers I have no idea? I first learned about the deburring blades when i was a young man back in the 1980's where I used them for taking burrs off machined titanium.

Hiya Ralf yes it is quite an old model but still in production and 1979 doesn't seem that long ago to me to be honest ha ha

Hey Der Digger! I wish I could get plastic brick to look that good eh!
I'm sure you can Wigwag, thanks for watching, the next video will be doing the stone work and the frames then we'll detail the brick work.
excellent work buddy
Thanks Guys
You always do nice work, Digger. Have you used Roberts Brick Mortar in your builds?
Thanks for sharing. 👍🐾👍
Thanks David, I havent heard of that product?
I just bought a similar DPM kit, was only £8.50 so a sight cheaper than a lot of the over prices rublish we get overhere

It's simply called an edge de burrer, they are used in many places very good for de burring metals too, i have one in my workshop
