Question I'm seeking some answers for: I listen to a lot of MQA and FLAC on my Peachtree Nova 300 with Bluesound Node 2. It sounds great, but I'm looking to upgrade my DAC, and maybe a Primaluna Evo 300 integrated in the near future. My question is intended for the people who have a lot of experience with high-end DAC's... Since this Primaluna DAC is not MQA certified (like the on inside my Peachtree Nova 300), will I still notice an improvement over my current DAC if I were to upgrade to the Primaluna DAC?

What is the difference between a dac and a preampifer the evo 100 preamp and the evo 100 dac?
The preamp is merely a source selector and volume control for the source(s) and of course, then feeds the signal to the amplifier. When I say merely this is used tongue and cheek as I've recently gone tube with the PrimaLuna HP integrated .....to say that I'm over the freak'g moon is an understatement. A DAC is a device which converts the digital signal into an analogue signal hence the acronym DAC. Many will say it's digital and its sound can't be changed.......well with a good resolving system this statement is blown wide open as a farce. DAC do sound different and it's quite the journey finding one that meets your needs.

The company says this will last between five and ten years, but as always with tubes, it's difficult to say exactly. It's hard-wired in, so replacement would have to be by qualified personnel. With current Russian sanctions, one hopes stocks of this tube will remain obtainable."
Ouch! This is a mistake in my opinion, hopefully they source parts from another country next time around!
