It will always confuse me how Manjoume didn’t get sponsors until he beat Edo, considering how impressive his wins should be in-universe especially with his handicap duels, traditionally weak ojamas, distinct strategies and main losses (in the public) coming from… The academy’s rising star that defeated a would be Obelisk Blue in Bastion, that mofo named Bastion, and I guess the main antagonists that either ran the school or took it over or transferred as elites (aka people everybody but judai would likely lose to while enrolled), obviously ignoring times he purposefully folds to the vastly weaker Asuka Like bro bodied an entire school and an entire dorm, then vaguely dueled multiple Truemen while suffering memory loss as they’re all on the run XD
The "random" indeed. Like you said, D.D. was introduced out of nowhere. It was a waste that they didn't have him recurring throughout season two to build him up as a villain and go into more of how he tricked and used Edo for years. Imo, D.D. would have made a better main villain than Saiou for this season. They slept on Edo and more potential for his backstory and better duels so much, and it only got worse in the seasons after where they quite frankly ran out of ideas for proper plots for him and really just used him to add to other characters' win totals. Also, I kind of wish they could have done more with Prince Ojin. He was hot. BTW, why do you keep referring to Ryo as Ryu?
