The procedure from the video (for those who want a written recipe):
    Wash the eggshells thoroughly.
Crack them and eat the insides.
Save the shells and keep them in the freezer.
When you have a gallon zip-lock bag full of eggshells, take them out and put them on a cookie sheet.
Turn oven to 250 degrees (Fahrenheit).
Cook for an hour. This leaves the membrane intact, ensures the egg shells are completely dried out, and kills any bacteria.
Crunch them up in a big bowl, then put them in something like a Magic Bullet or Ninja food processor. Put on "pulverize" and let it run as long as it needs to to create a very fine eggshell powder.
You can sprinkle it on food.

Great suggestion! 2 refinements that should be noted. First, do NOT use a blender to grind the shells, unless the blender uses a glass vessel! The shells will abrade plastic, and you will end up with that toxic plastic in your healthy supplement. Next, get a small strainer to catch the pieces that do not become powder. A warning: Ground egg shell is extremely abrasive. If you add it to food that you chew, you can feel it grinding away at the enamel of your teeth! Don't put it in anything you chew! If you mix it with drinks, it sinks so fast you can't get it down. You can add it to a very thick shake I suppose. I solved the problem by buying a capsule filling machine, and making my own eggshell capsules. Pro tip: line the cookie sheet with parchment paper. The little drips of egg that drop onto the cookie sheet harden like epoxy, and are very hard to get off without ruining the cookie sheet. The paper just gets tossed, leaving nothing but a rinse for clean up!

You were doing an absolutely phenomenal job until you said you were making capsules out of them because they have a very fine and hard powder making capsules out of them is a nightmare I have tried and I have made capsules of many other things and eggshell powder is the worst also I don’t consume capsules anymore because it’s processed and you don’t know what is in those capsules even if they are vegetarian. I also don’t use capsules because taking a teaspoon and putting it in your mouth and then swishing it down with water is by far the best solution for every supplement and every powder.
Every morning I wake up I take two scoops of grass fed whey protein isolate two scoops of almond flour or pumpkin seed flour I alternate every few days between the two you don’t want to take them at the same time because some of them could have anti-nutrients that will prevent each other from absorbing. I also don’t brew coffee I just take a big tablespoon of my organic CBD coffee and half a teaspoon of Kratom and I feel absolutely incredible and I just gave myself an unbelievable amount of nutrients in about two minutes worth of scooping.
I also eat half a pound of organic spinach every morning and every night I don’t blend it I just put it in my mouth and chew it down and it takes about 40 seconds of chewing.
I wouldn’t recommend eggs in the morning because they make you tired I would recommend eggs about 2 1/2 hours before going to bed so that they can make you tired right before bed and fill your brain with nutrients so that you can get better sleep.
I used to spend hours every day cooking and cleaning dishes now I spent a total of 20 minutes cooking and eating every day.

She also uses soured milk in place of buttermilk for pancakes. I suppose I could do the same thing and add the powder to any keto baked goods.

I'm so grateful for this video! I've been saving and grinding our egg shells (in the Keurig coffee grinder) for a year now and feel so good about all the extra nutrition we're getting. -For pretty much FREE! (Still keep sending my mom/aunt your calcium video, but they're like, "well that's sweet honey, but I'm gonna do what my doctor says."🤯)

Yes, we eat eggshells blended up in protein smoothies with greens using a Vitamix blender. Known this forever from Vitamix demos at state fairs and so happy to see you promote it. Keep up the great work Dr. Berry. Thank you and God bless you.

Hey doc, just a little tip when you bake your egg shells to dry them out. Try doing it in your smoker the next time you cook at low temp. Then when you crush the eggshells into powder it becomes a smoky flavored seasoning. The eggshell powder also makes a good anti-caking agent to add to shredded parmesan cheese.

I've been grinding Eggshells for years, using only a mortar and pestle. Allows me to get a very fine grind. 🙂 plus, it's something I can do while sitting on the couch watching t.v., instead of watching t.v. and doing nothing 👍

Probably especially important for kids that are growing lots of bone. As described by Rheaume-Bleue in the book Vitamin K2 and the Calcium Paradox, this should go along with adequate vitamins A, D3, and K2 (liver, eggs, oily fish - also good for their growing neurons).

I'm a new member of the Patreon group and found this video on egg shells because it kept coming up in Q&A's. I eat Vital Farms eggs daily as part of my PHD (doing BBBE right now for 30 days) and had no idea! I'll be saving my egg shells now to do this. Thanks Dr. B! (your neighbor in Atoka TN, just outside Memphis)

haha been doing this for YEARS I'm 60. That membrane is the stuff! I just save mine in the frigged and three weeks later I take them out of the fridge and grind them with a coffee grinder and put them in 0000 empty capsules. And take a few a day. Since I always heal fast! I play sports 5-7 times a week with the young ones. And win 80% of the time.

That membrane inside the egg can also be used very effectively as a bandaid for cuts and burns. Apply with pressure until it dries.

I'd just recently heard about eating eggshells for calcium, saved some up, dried them, and have been looking for suggestions on what/how to do them. The first vid I watched said, wash, bake, pulverise. Yours says, don't wash, bake pulverise. I think don't wash is better. (I want the albumin.) Love your stuff, Dr. Ken. I'm keto. Lost >10% body weight; blood work improved hugely, love it. In my place, when cooking for me, I'm actually lion carnivore, but when eating out with my wife, I'm keto.

Thank you Dr Berry! ALWAYS such timely and affirming info. I feed eggshells to my cats since I make their food myself very often and I don't have a heavy-duty meat grinder to crush bones. I save the shells in the freezer, then to use them, I boil a few minutes, strain and put them in the blender till crushed. Dr Berry, am I losing nutrients by boiling? ( It doesn't get to a fine powder, but the cats don't mind. They don't chew as thoroughly as I do. I will HUNT one tiny speck of shell if it gets in my own egg meal. Maybe I'll get a coffee grinder and have some myself) Then when the shells are crushed I add the parboiled chicken meat & water, tyrosine, 1 fish oil capsule and 1/4 tsp of salt & 1/4 tsp potassium (No Salt brand or a capsule) to about 2 pounds of chicken with skin & about 1/2 pound of cooked liver for fun. Actually for the added vitamins & flavor. Then freeze in small containers. They Love it and it helps my one kitty's sensitive (barfy) tummy. I add more water to it when I serve and they like that a lot. They'll lap up all the "'gravy" take a break, then come back and finish the rest. I think it's like when they hunt, they probably get all the blood first. I'm sure it's super nutritious.

This is great! I envision phasing out the Citracal that the doctor currently has me taking, and replacing that with eggshells. I am a forest gardener, implementing regenerative agriculture practices, some of which are based on Korean Natural Farming (KNF). One of the inputs is Water Soluble Calcium (WCA) made by mixing the roasted, crushed eggshells with Brown Rice Vinegar in a 1:10 ratio. You leave it to sit and react for 5 to 10 days. That is to provide nutrition for plants. Since you promote the use of Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) for its health benefits, I wondered whether it makes sense to incorporate eggshells into the ACV, or whether the WCA might be good for human consumption along with a carnivore diet.

I imagine using the powder in baked goods and soups as an additive, similar to how our ancestors used bone meal, would be quite effective. I can also see this as being good in your garden if you eat more eggs than you can comfortably consume all the shells of.

I was buying Natural Eggshell Membrane (NEM) from Amazon 60 capsules for $40.00 Can. I bought a coffee grinder for $20 and a Mason jar vacuum sealer for $35. I will Boil my eggs, full boil 10 min, cool down and refrigerate them. As I eat my eggs, I keep my egg shells until I get a good supply in a bag. Then bake the shells 225 deg for 10 min in oven, cool down and crush to a fine powder with coffee grinder. Store excess powder in mason jar sealed with my Food Saver Vacuum sealer. Store in cool, dark place. Take out what you need and re-seal. So Easy.

My mom told me her dad used to grind up egg shells and add them to yogurt.
Probably a really good way to get that calcium in.
Ofcourse one should boil the egg and she'll to eliminate the germs and salmonella.
Of eggshells are good for plants added to soil....it may be a bit unconventional to consume but it's cheaper than buying calcium chews ☺️
